Thanks for welcoming me to the group. I am happy to find a group that will be supportive and help me stay motivated to reach my goals.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!! :)

Hi Ladies,

How was your week? I weighed-in yesterday and lost another 2 pounds. I am now at 22.6 lost (somehow my counter is slightly off lolol). I am looking forward to another good, but crazy week with my work schedule. After this upcoming Friday, I will be off for 9 days and cannot wait. I truely am feeling burned out and need to get recharged.

I hope everyone is doing well! :)

Welcome welcome welcome all!!! Thanks for celebrating with me!

I do have a question. I read on the "premier" cheerleading website, Varsity.com, that active teen girls should have 2200 calories per day. I'm going to be a more active teen girl. Should I start upping my calorie intake?

I'm also going to rest a couple of days, then start in on my Jump Drill routine. Two years ago, when I was in then, we did a jump drill every other practice...80 jumps to an 8-count. I'm going to start light for 2 weeks (1 jump of each type, 3 of the ones we really use), then for 3 weeks I'll go to 3 and 5, then after that 5 and 6. I just want to have the stamina to jump!

Hello All!

Welcome BraMax! This the place for support! The weight will fall off and we will be here to congrats you!

Great job NikkiBell! Those first 20 seems to be the most rewarding--at least they were to me!

Pixiedust, I am still praying for your Uncle. Hope he is home soon.

Jen--I am think 2200 healthy calories would be just fine for you. As my figure can contest, it's the empty calories that hurt! With being active, you will need protien, good carbs, amino acids, etc. Go ahead, have those heathly calories and I am sure the weight will still disappear!

Hope everyone else is doing fine. Maria, still no computer?

Off to put away the clean dishes! SO glad 85% of laundry is done!

Hi everyone~
Just wanted to check in & see how everyone is doing today. Hope you are all enjoying the afternoon. I weighed in this morning and have lost 2 pounds since last Wednesday. I'm sooooo excited about that. I went to a water aerobics class yesterady and I am super sore today :) Oh well, it was for a good cause & I am so excited to see the scale finally starting to go down.

Hi Ladies!

The computer is at home, just not up and running...someday soon, *crosses fingers*!

I did do a 3-mile run Saturday, which felt great. Today I'm running for 35 minutes, we'll see how far I get.

We have a meal plan for this week, and I have been seriously slowing down on the snacking. We also stocked up with blueberries, clementines, bananas, grapes, carrots, green beans, sugar snap peas and broccoli. I am fresh out of excuses not to eat my fruits and veggies!

I already have my five in for today, and we're having baked haddock, brown rice and broccoli for dinner. I replaced my light ice cream with frozen yogurt. I got Edy's black cherry/vanilla swirl, and it is luscious! After keeping this up all week, I am expecting good results Saturday morning.

I have to dash home to get on the TM -- I'm hoping for more time to post tomorrow.

Everybody have a wonderful night, and welcome to the newbies!
Maria

Hello all!

Great job Becky! 2 pounds is a good pace, not too much and enough to make you feel like you have done something.

Listening to WDW music. Sure makes me wish I could visit sometime soon. Not in the stars tho. Like goes on!

Not much to mention! I have to work tonight. It's my week of overnights. Just starting to do this. I think it's because we get to far from those work at night and really need to kick things up a notch or 2.

Hope all have a good week.

Glad the computer is at home Maria! I know soon you will be using it!

Off and running!

Hi all! It's been a LOOOOOONG time since I posted on this thread--in fact, I've had a new baby since then!

I kept lurking, though, and reminding myself that I needed to get back to the 150s club.

Guess what--I did it! I weighed in this morning at 158. Not bad at all, considering I weighed 207 on December 14th, the day after the new baby arrived!

Thanks, all for the support you didn't know you were giving me! I hope to be back OUT of the 150s soon, but I'm sure I'll stay in "the club" because reading these boards gives me inspiration!

Wow, congratulations! How'd you lose the baby weight soooo fast? Mine seems to just be sitting there & I can't get rid of it :) I am so excited to get back to the 150's, I can't wait! I agree that this thread is very motivating though, so I'm hoping that by reading everyone's stories and checking in on a daily basis it'll keep me working hard to get to where I want to be.

Welcome all the new people. Everyone seems to be keeping on track and that is agreat way to start off this new season of spring.

This has been a crappy month for me. The beginning of the month I had a sinus and ear infection. THis past week I just started feeling better and I had a great weekend with my husband. My ds1 was at college and ds2 was camping so we were all alone. Friday night we went out to see Wild Hogs and got some good laughs. Saturday afternoon we went to his school play and then out to dinner and then went to seee the school play at my school. Sunday I took ds2 to a concert that some of my students and his friends were in. SUnday night it hit me. I ended up in the bathroom and I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. Yesterday all I ate was 2 pieces of toast, 2 bananas and a half a cup of rice krispies. This morning I had a banana and a protein bar and some tea and I don't know how that is going to stay down. I am hoping pretty good since I have to teach classes today. Yesterday I called in sick but with only 4 days left before spring break I can't be out any more this week. I also have to be healthy for the beginning of the break. WE are going college shopping Sat, SUn, Mon,Tues and I think I have to make an appointment for Wed also. Then to top it all off ds1 called last night and was on his way to the hospital. He jumped down the last couple of step at his apartment and fell on his foot wrong and broke a bone in the foot. Now I have to find him an orthopedist who will look at him on either Friday after 2:30 or Sat morning. Not an easy thing.

Sorry for the long vent I just had to get it out.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Hi everybody!

I haven't checked in for a couple of days, but I'm still here plugging along. My food choices over the weekend were pretty poor. I have not been on the scale yet and I hope I'm still clinging to the high 160s. The weather is getting better so maybe I can start walking more often in addition to riding the exercise bike. I try to do 7-9 miles per day on the bike, six days/week. I'd like to build up to a few more miles if possible.

It's nearly time to pull out my summer clothes. I hope that I have stuff that fits OK. And, it's nearly bathing suit time, too! We go to the pool nearly every day in the summer. I could use a new suit, but I am putting off shopping for it until the last minute. : )

I hope everyone will have a good rest-of-the-week! pixiedust:

I have a funny story, you know I was asking Maria how she could live with out her computer and guess what? My computer's motherboard burned out!!!:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: I'm at the library right now catching up on email and trying to finish all the homework I lost when my computer died. Not much fun I'll say! Anyway, I hope they fix it before my next class starts. I just went to the gym and did a weigh in today, and I'm happy to report that since I have started my wieght loss journey in 2005 I have lost 31 pounds. I felt like crying when I saw it, I'm really just very happy that I have been able to come this far. Thank you guys for your support :grouphug:

CONGRATULATIONS JEN!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Good job on the JV cheerleading. Now the hard part starts, all the work that comes with being a cheerleader. Have fun, I know you will!

Welcome Becky, I hope you are as lucky at being a loser as the rest of us.

Wow, Shellbelle, how did you do it? That was some quick weight loss.

Hello, Kelly, Dona, Maria, and Wendy, I have missed you guys! If I missed anyone, I'm sorry. Have a great day and I'll catch y'all a soon as I can.

Becky & Shellynn & All,

No flames, please; I know my post-baby diet is controversial, but it has worked great for me. I have just done the Atkins diet exactly by the book, no cheating. I have also walked about 4 miles a day most weekdays on a treadmill at the gym. (I'm trying to work up to running 5 miles a day, but I'm really out of shape from being terribly sick with my pregnancy, so I started slow.)

I love the Atkins thing because I never, ever feel hungry--I'm really unpleasant to be around when I'm hungry! So for me that's been all I've needed to do--keep my carbs under 40 grams per day and my walking over 4 miles.

I figure within the next 4-8 weeks I'll be at my goal, as long as I can keep up the self control and not fall off the diet while we're at WDW in April.

Good luck to the rest of you, too!

Michelle

Hi everyone!

Just a quick hello, and I am off. Have to work tonight and it's nearly time to get there!

I will catch up later!

Hi everyone!

I biked 10 miles for the first time yesterday! :woohoo: I hope to do 9 miles today if I have time. What I really, really need to do is focus on my abs which is where I carry a lot of weight, but I'm not sure how to best start with tackling that area.

Shelly, 31 pounds is great!! Congratulations, and keep up the good work. I still haven't been on the scale after I made some bad food choices over the weekend. I might wait a week or so to weigh myself.

Michelle, it looks like free dining isn't coming my way in early August, so I'm less worried about eating too much at WDW. We'll be eating cheap. : ) Do you have the dining plan? If so, do enjoy it. Let yourself get the yummy desserts. You'll be on vacation. :) We had the free dining last year. I loved all of the food, but did OK with portion control and I quit eating when I was full. With all of the walking a WDW vacation entails, if you watch portion control you probably won't gain weight.

Welcome, Bramax!

I hope everyone has a good day!

Great job biking 10 miles! That's awesome.

My abs is my problem area too. After having my son 4 months ago I still have a flabby belly & it is driving me insane. I've been doing a lot more cardio lately so hopefully that will help. I also started Weight Watchers 2 days ago, so hopefully between a healthy diet & consistent exercise I can rid myself of this belly that makes it look like I'm still pregnant!:scared1:

Hope everyone else has a great day! I'll be doing a water aerobics class tonight for 1 hour and then I'm hoping to get in a 30 minute cardio workout during my lunch break.

Great job everyone. I haven't been too active this week as the kids are on spring break but starting Monday it's back to Curves and back on eating plan. And thank-you for the welcomes.

Hey gang!! You all are doing great! Glad to see you sticking with it ladies!! :cool1: Sorry it has been so long but I can finally tell you what is going on. But first things first...I am maintaining! Woohoo! :thumbsup2

Now for the poop. My husband of 24 years decided to move his 24 year old girlfriend to AR instead of me. Our oldest child is 23! You may remember that I had to stay here for some serious medical tests and in that time he decided that he'd rather have her than us. It is okay, I am doing great. I hired a private investigator got the goods and we are in the process of divorcing...not that my heart is 100% comitted to it. The last few months have been ugly as he has been very deceitful. He hasn't seen me since early November when I was a size 12 and 40 pounds heavier (about half way through my weight loss journey). As of March I have lost 80 pounds and am a size 6. I have a wonderful support system and I am going to be fine. There are still about 20 pesky pounds to get off and lots of toing. The weight loss had nothing to do with him I did this for my health (everyone keeps asking me that question). As soon as I get an after picture I'll post the before and after.

Anyway, I am sorry it took so long to get back around but I didn't want to be a sad sack. Just taking it one day at a time. My faith has sustained me. And look at all of you!! Losing weight!!

Welcome to the newbies! :yay: There is lots of catching up to do so I am going to start reading!! :coffee:

Hey, could we have a little roll call? Maybe list your goals and plans. Yeah, I know I am being lazy I could go back and look it all up but humor me pleeeeease!!!! :goodvibes

I can start!!

My name is Melissa I have lost 80 pounds by watching what I eat (no red meat and very low fat) and lots of walking. I have 20 pounds left to drop and must do serious toning. :rotfl: I am currently training for the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta July 4th. You might say it is my Independence Day!

Next...... :cheer2: :grouphug:

Melissa that is awesome!!! I am so happy for you. :yay:

I recently introduced myself since I am fairly new, but I'll go again :)

My name is Becky. I recently had a baby and have 70 pounds to lose. Before having my son I was at 150 and in really great shape, now I just feel like a big blob! I just started weight watchers & am working out 5-6 days a week though, so my goal is to lose as much as I possibly can by the time we take our annual trip to WDW in Oct/Nov.

Good luck everyone. I'd love to hear what diets, exercise, etc. people are doing to reach their goals.
