Hi Ladies!

I hope everything is going well for you all. I weigh in tomorrow and am hoping for another three pounds. My eating has been great and I am more active. How are you all?

Good Easter everyone.

Well, I gained a pound while home all week. Considering it all, I am not too upset. It will be gone by next weekend. I hope!

Off to finish last task of the week!

Wendy

Nikki -- Thanks for the calcium advice. I am going to make a conscious effort to get 3 servings of milk or cheese in me daily. Maybe that's why I'm always so hungry...

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone who celebrates Easter has a wonderful holiday. I'm about to tuck into reasonable portions of ham, potatoes, carrots, peas, bread and deviled eggs -- to be followed later by a small slice of cherry pie.

I'm already planning my run for tomorrow -- and I did run yesterday, 3.25 miles!

Gotta move to lose!
Maria

Had a nice dinner, and small dessert. Did great for a holiday. Did have a chocolate egg.

Also did my TM for 25 minutes. It was only 1.5 miles, but I did stick to it. It sure helps to watch live concerts on dvd while walking.

Happy Easter to all, and Passover as well!

Wendy

Mostly in bed today....some kind of flu. GRRRR!!!! Thank goodness it is a holiday. Normally DH and I teach a class at church on Sunday nights. We didn't have it today.

Dawn

Happy Monday morning.

Just a quick note since I am getting ready to start my day at school (Yes I have school today. I left my house and everyone except the cats were asleep. It was kind of nice not to have to talk to anyone)

Hope everyone had a great Easter yesterday. Happy Passover our Jewsih friends.

I didn't do too bad at dinner yesterday. I fought the urge for the second helpings but did have berry cobbler for dessert (I have to finish up the berries that I picked last summer) I didn't work out this morningbut hope to this evening when the guys go to a meeting.

Have to go. I need to make some signs about after school activities that need to be rearranged because of a LONG:scared1: :scared1: department meeting tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day. MAke it the best that you can.

Good morning, gang. I've been mostly lurking, but I have been following the posts! Between work and school life is pretty hectic. I've finally been able to get back out walking again--one slip on the ice in Feb convinced me not to be macho walking when the sidewalks were bad. And finally got off the plateau this last week.

Have a great week everyone...shorts season is coming!

Good Morning!

Here's today's eating plan:

B -- oatmeal w/ a glass of milk
S -- Kashi bar, 32 oz. hot tea over the morning
L -- ham sandwich, cucumbers, banana, calcium-fortified orange juice
S -- grapes and cheese, 16 oz. tea
D -- tacos and cherry pie ala mode, 16 oz. tea

I listed the fluid intake so you could see what I'm doing. I love tea, so that's easy. I don't like plain water, but I can drink flavored if that is better. Any thoughts?

I'm planning on a 35 minute run on the TM. We'll see how that goes. I'm home this afternoon with DS since he doesn't have school (dh and I are splitting the day). I'm considering letting him watch one of his new dvds so I can have time to work out and shower in peace. He's 9, so he can certainly be left watching tv for an hour. I'll still feel guilty if I do it, though...

Coaster -- I'm just hoping we don't get snow later this week. So much for our Spring! :cool1:

Dona -- my theory is that if I have a small indulgence, I won't feel deprived and I will stick with the rest of my diet. Right now I'm trying to cut down on all those 100 cal packs. I've told myself I can only have one a day,and yesterday I didn't have any. I look at them and think, "it's only 100 calories"...and then I eat 5 different kinds! :rotfl:

Dawn -- I hope you are feeling better today. Perhaps it was a 24-hour bug? I think it's hard this time of year. I never know if I'm catching a cold or it's allergies...:confused3

Nikki -- Did you see the three calcium servings on my list?! Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping it will help with the constant hunger. :thumbsup2

Wendy -- I'm with you on the live concerts! It really makes all the difference. I just need to find some new ones. I'm getting kind of tired of Duran Duran and Bon Jovi.

Tammy -- It sounds like you have a great program. My main focus right now is on HUD as well. I have eight programs (7 renewals, one new) in two Continuums of Care, so I have different rules, deadlines, etc.

I have to run to a meeting, everyone have an awesome afternoon!
Maria

Welcome Dawn!!

I bit the bullet. I signed up for the fitness club up town and I went there today. I didn't spend much time in there, though-the people were friendly enough and the equipment was good.

I did .5 of a mile in 20 minutes :goodvibes
3 minutes on the ski machine :goodvibes
60 crunches on the crunch machine thing (about 3 minutes) :goodvibes
about 3 minutes on the stationary bike :goodvibes

That's excellent for me! I think I like it. I'm going to see if I can do my cardio dance video tonight, also!

B: 1 cup cheerios with milk
1 slice toast with 1/2 TBSP PB

L: 1 cup spaghetti with meat sauce
1 small salad (1 cup lettuce, 7 cherry tomatoes, 4 slices deli turkey, 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese)

Water: excellent. On my 2nd liter as I type.

My school nurse just announced that we will be doing a Biggest Loser Club from now until the end of the year. The first time they did this I was the Biggest Women's loser for the first month and then a couple of months later. I am thinking of doing it again. It will only cost me $10. Last time it sparked me to lose about 25 pounds, maybe it will do it again.

Talk to you soon '

Hello everyone! Hope all had a great Holiday! I enjoyed the quiet!
Now, it's back to work and the grind stone. I was a bit discouraged that I had gained a pound while on vacation. I figure it had to be the decrease in moving. I did the TM daily, and watched the food intake, but oy vey--that pound showed up. I will have to toss it out with another one this week!

Dona, that sounds great! It seems like it would a well spent $10! A healthy competition has always been good for the goals.

Maria, I agree, I drink flavored water or green tea. My family loves fruit2O. They have some different flavors, and I find it on sale quite abit. Hmm...Duran Duran, and Bon Jovi? Those would very upbeat! I have been on Harry Connick jr and Josh Groban lately. Last week I watched different episodes of House-a fox weekly series. Tried movies, but they just don't work because I will sit in front of the TV to finish watching it after I grow tired on the TM! :happytv:

Jen, so great you have joined a club. Keep it up and with cheering, you will be so fit!

Nikki, how did WI go? HOpe it was another 3 pounds!

Hey Coaster! Hope your fall wasn't too bad. We still have snow and it still snows. Maybe May will bring spring here in West Michigan.

Dawn, are you feeling better? It seems that no matter how careful we are, we catch something from the public. Then, there's allergies. When does it all end?

Still have to hit the treadmill. DD and DH are watching Dancing with the Stars. A perfect time to do it!

Have a great day everyone!

Wendy

Just got back from the fitness club!! :) That's 2 days in a ROW! :)

I did 20 minutes on the TM (1/2 a mile and then some!) :thumbsup2
10 minutes on the stationary bike :thumbsup2
10 minutes on the evil ski machine! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
40 crunches on the crunch machine :thumbsup2
3 minutes on the Gazelle thing until I freaked myself out on it  :thumbsup2

B: 2 cups of cheerios
L: 1/2 a ham steak (fried) with 3/4 cup of rice

Hello my fellow losers :wave2: I'm back!!!! I just got my laptop back today and I am sooooo happy. My class starts today too, so this is perfect timing. I have put a few pounds back on and I came short of meeting my Easter weight loss challenge goal, so I'm feeling bit disapointed in myself. I'll just have to get back on the bandwagon and start over again. At least I have kept up the gym pretty well. I'm really going to enjoy getting back on here for support again so I can get back to losing instead of gaining.

I'll talk to you guys tomorow, it's dinner time right now. Bye ladies!

Hi MIchelle! Nice to 'see' you!

Great job Jen! Do you go to the club alone,or with a pal?

Off to do all those things we need to!

Catch ya tomorrow!

Wendy

I go alone for now...I go in the middle of the afternoon, after Dad goes to lunch with Grandpa, and Mom's at work. This weekend though, I hope to have my mom come with me!

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Today is day 1 of the Biggest Loser here at my school. I weighed myself at home and I have put on some weight since the beginning of the year but this is good incentive to take it off. I don't get a break until 10:15 so before I grab a snack I will weigh in at the nurse's office.

Well I need to get to work, grades are due by Friday and I still have a desk load of papers to grade.

Have a healthy day.

Would it be possible for me to jump in with everyone else trying to shed the pounds. I will give you a brief on where I am. 6 years agaon my father passed away. Since then I have gained 35 pounds, failed a stress test and my cholesterol is up. I am a nervous emotional eater. I need some kind of accountablility. I would love to read what everyone here is doing and get some encouragement to get this weight off. I heard my 7 year old say last night "Well I'm glad I'm not as fat as mommy". She is a little stick and I fear she fears that she will be heavy like me. I will look forward to becoming a true "LOOSER"!
Michele

Good Morning, Ladies!

Well, I bit the bullet and did the baseline weigh-in this morning. It was shocking and not in a good way.:scared1: I will let you know how I'm progressing next Wednesday morning. Onward and Downward, right?! On the bright side, I did run 3 miles yesterday, so I can be happy about that.

Today's eating plan:

B - oatmeal and a glass of milk
S - Kashi bar
L - LC steak tips portabello & broccoli, cucumbers, jello pudding
S - grapes and cheese
D - ? , 100 cal Lorna Doone pack

We did have meatball subs on the menu, but I told dh that would not be helping me. He promised to come up with something healthier. If all else fails I can have a salad.

I plan to go for a short walk this evening, but on the TM. I'm not sure when our snowy weather will start. It's family night, so I have to make an appearance with my fellas.

ShellyL -- You are so very welcome here. And I think you need a :grouphug: , I know what your daughter said hurt you, even though of course she didn't mean to. Losing a parent is incredibly stressful. I lost my mom in 2002, and it took at least 18 months before I started to feel normal again.

Dona -- I hope you have fun doing the biggest loser program. It sounds neat. They have Weight Watchers At-Work here, but I'm not comfortable going. The last thing I need is people gossiping about my weight where I can hear them, and it would happen. Good luck with all those papers and grades, I don't know how you do all that and teach, too! :goodvibes

Jen -- I am so proud of you for going to the gym! I think you will really like it as you get used to it. You are a social person, so this should be a great way for you to workout. :thumbsup2

Michelle -- The beauty of your progress is that you don't have to start over where you were on day one! You are doing great, and there's nowhere to go but down!:cool1:

Wendy -- I'm not sure what I'm walking to today. If I'm lucky, I find a show on the travel channel that's interesting. I like Samantha Brown, so that helps. I have a hard time with anything that requires real concentration. It's better if I'm watching something where I don't mind if I miss a few words. ;)

Everyone have a wonderful day!
Maria

Hello. I got my teeth cleaned today, they really neede it from where I had glue left over fromthe braces. I hate cleanings, but it had to be done. I found out that I need to get 2 fillings replaced :scared: I hate the drill!!!! Save me someone, Mommy don't make me do it! I guess I should just grow up and take it like a woman, but I won't like it. I went early to the gym and opened the door to a sight that took me back for a second. They were all doing aerobics, which wouldn't be weird except I wasn't expecting it. I stood in the doorway for a minute and the instructor said "come in we don't bite". It was a pretty good workout and I feel good.

Wendy, nice to "see" you guys too, I've missed my time here.

Jen, have fun at the gym. I love going, it gives me time to daydream and not have to hear whinning little voices that get on my nerves after too long.

Dona, Good luck on the Biggest Loser thing. A little healthy competition is good for the spirit.

ShellyL, Welcome to our group. Good luck with your weight loss.

Maria, Family meals always mess me up too. DH is picky about his food and I usually don't have the desire to make two dinners. With him gone I can eat whatever I want, which is why I usually lose weight while he is gone.

I hope everyone has a great day, see you tomorrow.

Hey everyone sorry I haven't posted in a while but with Easter and such things have been pretty crazy. Monday I'm starting an 8 week body challenge with LA Weightloss and I can loose up to 30 lbs if that infact happens then I am only 3 lbs or so from the 150's club. Anyways just wanted to update you all that I haven't given up in my quest to make the 150's club. Great work everyone else keep up the wonderful effort that your doing:cheer2:
