maybe there should be a DIS laundry meet?

or we could exchange clothes within age groups so it looks like different kid - new outfit. Plus everyone seems to be a good shopper here and we can use some new stuff. LOL.

how about it?

I hope to never have to use the laundryroom! At least before the Repo we are booked for. I am still trying to figure out the logistics for that!!

Good Morning Group!!!!!!

Today's the big day, our WEDDING SHOWER!!!!!!! Now I am really getting excited for everything.....

PJ, great job on the newsletter!!!!!!

Paul just walked in and I was showing him all the posts and everthing, he was saying how nice it was that there will be lots of friendly faces. I told him how I invited to group to the wedding and he loved it......

Can't wait, although, I am going to miss the wine and cheese gathering the day of the wedding :guilty: Maybe I'll have to get my hair done early so I can try to join in for awhile.

Thanks again for everones help and advice along the way. Can't wait to meet everyone in person.

Have a great day!! Wish we could come! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Things to do before the Cruise
1. Find a part time job in tax prep for Jan-April
2. Get an Eye Exam
3. Get an Ear Exam (what did she say?)
4. Get my head examined (literally, migranes)
5. Any last minute Cruise Shopping
6. Christmas Shopping for Family (Who are they again?)
7. Complete 9 or 10 T-Shirt Quilts

Yikes! :scared1: I still check in every couple of days but I just can't keep up like I used to. Will someone please volunteer to PM me if there are any plans I need to know?

If you don't have a taker, I'll be glad to do it. I have lots of things to do also, but won't start them until, oh, say Dec. 1st!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That would fun wouldn't it? The only problem is that I am a "gonzo" driver .... push the limit and no stops. It drives my DW crazy to have to ask for a "pit stop". :moped:

Try doing that with kids!! :rotfl: :rotfl: DDs have to be begging for me to stop! I love it when they fall asleep and I can drive in peace and quiet.

I was trying to set a book mark to find where I left off because I keep replying when I saw the lobsters. You guys make it very difficult for me to keep focused. I then I to try to find the original message which led to the lobster but I can't find it easliy because I am so far behind with the last time I book marked and know it was in the working zone not reading dis. ARGHHHHHHHH I'm so lost.

On the lobster note though - I hate them. I'm also allergic to shellfish. I do like crabcakes - very allergic though so I can't eat them unless I want to die. :confused3 Try living in New England hating fish, and lobster. I also don't know why you dip a bland tasting thing in hot butter. I have to take all vistors to Legal Seafoods, Turners or Skipjacks. Gag, gag, gag. Funny thing when I was a kid I loved steamers and scallops. Now you couldn't pay me to eat them.

DrHug did senior portraits for DGS's not a girlfriend Sam yesterday.

Are you insinuating something with always referring her as 'not a girlfriend' Sam?? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Caroline -- Did you see GA last night? I managed to catch it Thursday night.

Yes, I am finally caught up with the season. It used to be much easier to watch my shows, but the girls have a later bedtime this year, not 8. There is no way I can watch that if they are around!

We'd been corresponding with the son of some friends of ours who was stationed in Mosul, Iraq. About two months ago, his unit was on patrol and encountered one of those roadside suicide bombers. Luckily, the bomb detonated just in front of their vehicle (any later and they all most likely would have been killed). The friends' son/soldier suffered severe burns to his face, arms & hands as he was the driver that day.

After a while in Germany and then a world-class burn unit in San Antonio, Texas.....he came home for a visit. His folks sent an email to everyone that had been writing to him to let us know he was flying back into Reagan National Airport (D.C.) at about 11 p.m. one night.

Because of weather delays, his flight actually didn't get in 'til almost 1:15 a.m., but over 100 people (relatives, friends, acquaintenances, etc.) ALL came to the airport, stayed 'til his flight got in and welcomed him home! I still get choked up/teary just thinking about it now. People had banners, flags, signs......everyone cheered. The friend's son/soldier had no idea people were coming to greet him. It was a Hallmark moment.

What an uplifting story! I love to hear about when people shower their appreciation and love on others!!

have fun partying in the laundry room, you won't catch me in there unless, well read your Bad Girl guide for laundry rooms ladies.

lobster....I like it, love crab legs better. Especially when someone else has already cut and cracked them for you.

alright ~ I am going to the pool.....I need a touch of color so ya'll don't whip out your shades at the port!

I never signed off from this morning and I had three tabs open: This thread showing my last posting, the DVC member page, the AKV pdf announcement and our cruise webpage. When I realized I flew into my office and took my screen off sleep to see if it looked the same - phew....no one was in there.

I always shut down - what was I thinking?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I think I may be one of the only ones to truly appriciate this!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Vanessa, I am so jealous of your pool and that you can still swim in it now!! :p
I am sure that you can get anything you want from the poolstore guys and I bet they would do a home delivery for ya! :teeth:

Well, I told those in chat the purely geeky thing I did yesterday. I went through each catagory on the DCL site to see how many rooms were unoccupied!

Here is what I have as of now...

Cat 4
40 rooms empty out of 80 rooms

Cat 5
65 rooms empty out of 114

Cat 6
20 rooms empty out of 138

Cat 7
9 rooms empty out of 30

Cat 8
6 rooms open out of 60

Cat 9
26 rooms open out of 177

Cat 10
11 rooms open out of 96

Cat 11
79 rooms open out of 147

Total
256 rooms open out of 845

That's roughly 70% full, or 30% EMPTY, depending how you want to look at it!

Hmmmm, there be a large booty coming up close now...

Anyone else here??

Hi all--
Hope the shower is fun, Jodie! Save some cake for me (especially if it is one of those bakery cakes with thick white frosting!)

We've had a busy day. Hannah (DD8) had soccer at 9am; temp was still in the 40s when they started. They won (only the second victory this season). Then home, changed and off to the Fall Faire at Walt's preschool. Walt and Hannah made lots of crafts and got 2 pumpkins; took a hayride and a pony ride; climbed into the fire truck and the police car; saw a show; ran through the hay-bale obstacle course; and ate some junk food. Elizabeth (DD13) has a birthday party to get to in an hour. DH went out to play golf after coming home from the hospital, but then he pulled a muscle in his back so he had to quit after 9 holes.

It's pretty windy today and my face feels like it's been sanded red (so V is off to the pool to get some color; those of us in the Northeast can get some of that lovely windburn!)

I should be sewing. These costumes are not going to make themselves. But then Caroline mentioned a milestone coming up...

afternoon all....

well I was up early even though I tossed and turned all night.

I took some pool water to be tested - my first time - and it was a hoot!! The two guys in there were arguing over who was going to help me...made me smile! I only needed three cups of acid, so I must be doing an ok job on the chemistry. They did explain to me how to get my Navigator back in the pool. Seems I wasn't paying attention to that during the pool school lesson!

I put the girls to nap and I am going to go get some sun -- hopefully the girls will sleep all afternoon. This pool is great and I'm glad we did it, but it's so hard to really enjoy it yet - aside from alone time. When the girls are out there I am on edge, Samantha can pretty much swim but Haley...NO and she will jump right in to you no fear! I think she will be swimming within 6 months. My point is I think trying to sit out there with the girls in the afternoon is more stressful than anything.

Big game tonight....I am worried. Auburn is hungry and mad and wants revenge this week. What better way to do it than to knock off the team who took over there ranking?

I was going through my pirate stuff from last year and I have a 100 foot banner - maybe we can string it in the hallway? I can always order more.....

The guys want to be your "pool boy", oh how I wish I had that problem.
I go into a store and people fight over who HAS to help me not who GETS to!!

I think you secretly want to come out of the DIS closet so you can play with us all the time! :rotfl:
