Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm think in a year from now we will be talking about getting DVC pts for next to nothing on the resale market? If things get much worse people might be looking to unload them for next to nothing just to get out from the MFs?

We've seriously discussed using DVC as our 'snowbird' retirement destination.

DFiL bought a home about 8 years ago in Largo (near Tampa) and is semi-retired. He spends Jan-May down there and the changes in property taxes in these past few years has really caused us to think if owning a second home would be right for us.

We're considering DVC for the months of Jan-Feb and if these resale prices continue to go down we'll be putting our plan into action that much sooner!

For those of you that were thinking about selling I'm sorry that your contracts are losing value but for those of us that want more points this might be the time to buy!

We are ways from retirement but will probably go with a portfollio of Timeshares opposed to buying a 2nd home. With the home you have to figure in the upfront cost, regular maint, and what do you do with it when not in use I know this is a simplified comment but we have been thinking about it for awhile.............good luck with your "snowbird" dreams

Given the fact that SSR is so large and the state of the economy, I am not surprised. What amazes me is the big drop in price per point! A year ago I didn't see a BCV contract listed less than $90/point. Now some are in the low $80s.
