Mel: Love, love, love the tattoo! It's quite a testament to your accomplishments. I wish I were as brave.
Tracy: Congrats on your 5K and good luck with today's run.
Kristi: Have a great day celebrating & spending time with family.
Stephanie: Aww, I'm sorry about your run today. I hope icing your knee helps with the pain and I know the ice cream will help with the disappointment.
Shan: The Donald Tattoo sounds cool. A couple of weeks back there was the thread with the truck decal--sorry I don't remember more details. I think that would be a cool idea--Donald running with a medal in his hand.
Mike: Thanks for the link, as I'm a poor, unfortunate Garminless soul.... And I love the shake recipe, recovery or not!
Kelley: Wow--your transition to running is going really well, I think. Yay for the PR & the sore-but-not injured feeling. And 10 miles at a good pace, too! When's your upcoming 1/2 (I know I should know, but I've temporarily misplaced my memory.) And whoo hoo for all the great family news; from the sounds of it, DS will be accepted into NHS! :woohoo
CarolA: Good to hear that you're all right. Have a great time in Paris! You just gotta love Thin Mints, don't you?? Mmmm.
Aloha Jeff: Great run. Hopefully the clinic didn't lose too many folks.
Scott: It sounds like you had a wonderful run, and by that I'm referring to the weather as well as your pace (which is consistently speedy, IMO). *Sigh* Thanks for the sunny thoughts, as I'm sure its headed our way. In the meantime, I'm glad you got to enjoy the sunshine!
Amy: It sounds like it was a frustrating day because of the weather & pace. I'm sure that by the Minnie your hill & speed work will pay off, and your Chi Running techniques will make the increased speed seem easier than it would be otherwise. Other than your pace concerns, how did you feel about your run?
Erica: Here are the ones DOOD and I can remember, mostly the questions:
• What is the speed of dark?
• Why are the people who invest our money called brokers?
• Why do doctors call what they do practice?
• Why do they say things are out of whack? What’s whack?
• If Barbie is so popular, why do we have to buy her friends?
The only trivia ones we remember are:
• North Dakota has never had an earthquake. (We used to live there, so we remembered that one. One of the state's perks.)
• All the clocks to Pulp Fiction are set to 4:20. (I think maybe you and I saw this one together?)
• There are as many chickens on the earth as humans.
• The length of a stretched-out Slinky is 87 feet.
As for me: I overslept today & missed yoga, which was strange because I woke up feeling still tired after 12 hours of sleep. Even my XT was lethargic. Hopefully it has more to do with a grey, sprinkly/snowy day than anything else.
And today I dropped by one of our malls while waiting to pick DOOD up from the airport. Some of our local Girl Scouts were selling cookies, so I "bought" a few boxes but refused to take them (trying to become a Lean Meaner & I have no self control when it comes to GS cookies). They told me they would donate those boxes to a local nursing home.

I gotta tell you, that felt almost as good as taking the cookies with me.
