Top O' The Morning To ya, lassies and laddies!
OK, today's lesson in training is titled .........."
Don't Be Stupid Like Me."
Friday night I was pretty sick.

I don't know if it was a stomach virus or because I ate a sugar-free Klondike bar. I can't handle Sorbitol or any of those sweeteners they use in sugar-free foods. All night Friday I was having...."gastric distress".

But since I missed my L/R the Saturday before I was determined to do my eight miles this weekend. Well, there's a reason, I guess, why we have that old adage about "above the neck, yes, below the neck, no". I got on the TM early Saturday morning, even though it was the last thing I felt like doing. About the sixth mile I started to feel very tired. By the end of the seventh mile I was holding the handrails praying it would end soon. By the end, I was exhausted. I headed up the stairs and at the top had one of my famous white-outs.

Charlie helped me to the reclining chair and covered me with two blankets and I was still shivering. I spent the next two hours watching cartoons and sipping PowerAde. I don't think I have ever been so completely depleted. 13 miles never took this much out of me. I was severely dehydrated and that probably messed up my electrolytes.
By lunchtime I was better, but I was really tired for the rest of the day. Naturally, we had yard work to do, but I just took it slow. I took yesterday and today as rest days. Today I feel like a new woman and have noticed that my legs really feel much stronger after two days off.
Cam had a good point on Saturday, that it is sometimes good to train under adverse conditions. If Saturday had been race day, I would have had a tough decision to make, but now I realize how much...pardon the pun...intestinal fortitude I have developed. When it comes down to it, I can really push myself if I have to.
Has anyone seen
Steve and Krista?
Mel - Oh I'm sorry you're not 100% yet.

Whoa! A tattoo! You're a brave woman. It begs the question, though...where is it?
Kristi - What? You're Irish? Hey, did you see News4 was looking for redheads today. They say in 100 years redheads will be extinct. Can't imagine why.
Lily - Oh wow! You're really doing great!

Oh poor Ted...take care of him for us please. He was so good to us when you were in surgery.
Stacie - Wow, sweeeet DH!!
OriginalBill - Wow, Timmy's training for his first event! Cool!
