Who has been in Jan?

The DBF and I went in January 20-22, 2006 for a quick weekend getaway and it was really enjoyable. He surprised me for my birthday and didn't find out until 2 days before we went. Even though it was 2 days before, I was still able to make reservations at the Ohana breakfast at the Polynesian and at the Crystal Palace with many different time slot options. We finished all of the rides at Magic Kingdom by 8:00 and that was with getting to the park around 9. The next day we went to Hollywood Studios and finished by 4. The crowds were light, the weather was sunny and 80 (which coming from New Jersey in January is like paradise ). If I could go in January again, I would definitely do it.

We had a trip during January last 2 years ago, it's less crowded and we really enjoyed it.

I have to say, I really love hearing these stories of low crowds and wait times. This trip is our daughters first trip to Disney and my wife and I have not been since we were young children so we are pretty pumped up about it and hoping to see as much as we can.

We were there this Jan 22-27 and although we thought the crowds may have been low, we did plan according to the Unofficial Touring guide plan, which helped us to minimize wait time. An odd thing though was that parts of each park were very busy, and other parts the crowds were non-existent, so it is possible that 2 families at the same park on the same day could have very different experiences. I do think January is a great time to go! Enjoy your trip!

We've been 3 times in January. The crowds are lower than the other times we were there (mid April, July, August and September).

Weather is a mixed bag though. Check the weather report before you go and be prepared to bring jackets/fleeces/sweatshirts and gloves!

Yeah, I figure we are going to have to pack for anything and everything when we go but I'm glad to hear so many people have had great trips in January.
