I made mention of the 1000 mile parade i was in during June of 2002....

the parade was called the 2002 Historic Motorama....

1 Corvette from each production year was selected by the museum as participants...

I took my oldest GD...who was 8 years old at the time...

we all met in Flint MI....at a park in front of the Sloan Museum ..ths started on 6/21....

then we traveled through the midwest for a 1000 miles with noteable stops at Flint, Detroit, Saginaw, Warren and Dearborn Michigan....

Joliet Illinois down Route 66.....Effingham Illinois....St Louis.....Collinsville Illinois....Evanville Indiana....

On to Bowling Green for 3 days of fun and parties...

anyway...in St Louis, a picture was taken at Kleener Park with the arches in the background...a 4 foot by 5 foot picture is on display in he mueum and an array of small bricks surround a BIG brick commemorating our event.....

I was wondering if you had noticed either..

plus...we paraded through the Corvette Assembly Plant...the first and so far as I know...the only time GM has allowed it....

the rest of the family met up with the Granddaughter and I in Bowling Green...they stayed 2 days...and...we went to that Wendy's...and yep...it was slow...busy too...but oh so slow...

Brer_Papa, I don't recall seeing the things that you mentioned in the museum, but if I think about it tomorrow I will ask my husband, he pays much more attention to that kind of thing that I do.

Sounds like a cool parade to be in.

phil, I'm so sorry to read your news. :( You're probably a bit scared right now. Waiting is the WORST thing, I swear. I'm praying that it's nothing too serious and, that whatever the outcome is, that it's successful. My mom had successful brain aneurysm surgery in Sept. 2001, in case you need to talk to someone. Just PM me.

Steph, I've been thru the ex situation also. Amazing how sitting before a Judge suddenly jars the memory for the truth, huh? ;) I'm glad you got the honest truth for a change. I hope the custody hearing goes well for you. Hang in there!

Brer_Papa, I found the picture you were talking about on the website that is mentioned in your profile page.

Cool car you have, I love the colour. Which one is you on the big group picture? I can't tell for sure.

(You are a young Papa, Brer_Papa ::yes:: , only 6 years older than me, I don't have any grandchildren in the forseeable future, my son is going to be 21 and my daughter 17 this year)

There were 4 yellow Corvettes out of the 50....mine is on the right...next to the fountain...about the middle...if you get a telescope....you can see me in a white shirt and Kara in a red shirt...

FYI...I took Kara...so she can attend the 100th Anniversary...in a certain Bright Yellow Corvette...

BTW...did you see me in any pics??

If not....if you click on where it says "HERE" under "THE PARTICIPANTS"....there are 2 "HERE" 's ...look at 1974.... :)

Brer_Papa, are you sure you didn't mean on the left not the right?

Yes I can see you and Kara there on the left side of the picture beside the fountain.

I saw the other picture of you and the one with you and Kara in it.
What do you call the colour of your car. It almost looks like lemon yellow in the pictures.

Very nice car, I can see why you are so proud of it.

Pretty granddaughter too!!

OOPS! Yes Cruisin'....on the left...lol..

when we were entering Klener Plaza, we entered from the back....an events coordinator said "C-1's and C-2's up front....C-3's on the right...C-4s on the left....C-5s in the back....except the 2003...up front..."

which translates to: "1953 to 1962 and 1963 to 1967 up front...1968 to 1982 on the right....(there was no production in 1983) ...1984 to 1996 on the left...
1997 to 2003 in the back..except the 2003..up front".

Then they jockeyed us around....took the picture from the front...so...yes...i am on the left...

the color is "Bright Corvette Yellow"....

Thanks...Kara is gorgeous....looks like her Mom when her Mom was that age....all my GK's are gorgeous.... :) :) :) :) :)

edited because i type like ....bad...

I just spent the last 20 minutes looking for this thread....went back to page 5

Gave up and went back to the first page and here it is :p

Hi Kim  How are you tonight? Nothing exciting happening where you are? Not here either.

Steph.........where are you tonight, you are usually around somewhere?

Brer_Papa must be gone to yodelling practice tonight or something,

Hi Robin! :wave2:

Well, the Cubs are on again tonight and, in the bottom of the 9th, they're actually WINNING! :happy2:

Have you cruised before? Sounds exciting!!! :sunny:

Yes this will be our 6th Disney Cruise, 4 -3 day cruises, one 4 day cruise and the next will be a 4 day on the Magic instead of the Wonder. We have only been on the Wonder, so it will be interesting to get on the Magic.

We cruised once with Carnival about 10 years ago and last year we went on Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas.

I think we are hooked :p

:cheer2: CUBS WIN! :cheer2: CUBS WIN! :cheer2:

Howdy Kim! :D

that starts the new winning streak @ 1....

:boat: Ahoy Cruisin'! :boat:

I didn't realize you are such a sailor! pirate:

COOL! I was on the Magic...on my 1 Disney Cruise....i thought the ship was awesome!

So, while I can't offer a comparison between the Magc :boat: and the Wonder :boat: , I can say the Magic is top notch...

I am thinking  that part of the fun will b spotting the differences between the 2...

Yes Brer_Papa, we have wanted to get on the Magic so that we can see the difference between the ships

Did you go on the Magic when it was still doing 3 and 4 day cruises or did you go on a 7 day cruise.

We are going on a 4 day Magic cruise because it is doing a special 10 day cruise at Christmas, it has to get itself back on schedule for doing 7 day cruises so they are having a 4 day cruise in the beginning of January. Bonus for us, we can see the Magic and still go on a short cruise.

Hope everyone has a :sunny: day today. The prediction here is for sunshine and a high of 23 degrees C which translates to ..... I don't know in F but it is 70 something
:jumping1: :cheer2:

Brer_Papa I just noticed that you were on the Magic in Dec of 99. Our first cruise on the Wonder was very early in Jan of 2000, so we did almost cross paths. :p
