Brer_Papa, I see now that you mentioned Corvette/Classic Car cruises, have you ever heard of RM Classic Cars? They do a lot of car restorations for famous people such as Jay Leno, Tom Cruise, Nicolas Cage and other wealthy famous people?

They are located quite near to us. We know one of the guys who is quite high up in the company and he brings cool cars to our shop all of the time. Multi million dollar cars that they have restored are sitting in our driveway on a regular basis. We have made some parts for some of those restorations

Personally, I prefer Austin Mini's ;)

I do believe RM Classic Cars has crossed my vision in my travels a time or two....I have a friend in Canfield Ohio who restores Classics....a gazillion times more talent at that than I have...so...people like that are good to know... :D

I would be in a state of drool if there were a lot ofrestored Classics in my driveway.... :)

you prefer Austin Mini's?...cool! You wil never see me get involved in the tired Ford vs. Chevy debates....and the like..

if it's a Classic...then I am gonna like it...

I go to Carlisle Pa a couple times a year...naturally the Corvette show in August...but...i also go to others...I've never met a Classic I didn't like.....

my next Classic i want to get my hands on is a Model T truck...around a 1915....as original as I can get....

a short stor that I may have told before...i took Kara and Corey to Ohio to see some old trucks...there were 2 Model A's on a tailer...around a 1926 or 1928...

anyway...The kids ask me to lift them up so they could see in the cab....so i lift...

Kara says..."Papa...where will we sit?"

I says.."I'll put a couch on the back like Granny Clampett..."

she says "who?"

I had to find the Beverly Hillbillies on Nickolodeon when we got back...

kids! I yell ya...

Well gang I got a bit of bad news today. It seems that the cause of my vertigo is a cyst in my brain. I'm seeing a neurosurgeon this Thursday to find out what the next step is going to be. I'll update as soon as I can.

OH no, phil, about made my heart stop when I read your post.

I sure hope that there will be something that they can do to help you.

Just remember that you have your DIS friends here to send :goodvibes your way.

Try to keep a positive outlook and we will be waiting to hear your updates.

:worried:

Brer_Papa, I also am an equal opportunity lover of old classic cars. I don't think I could pick one over the other if they were all sitting in front of me.

Yes we do get some pretty cool cars sitting in front of our business. It is kind of interesting to watch people go driving by and the heads all turn to look at the cars.

I have been to the Corvette Museum in Kentucy too. It was during the same trip that we went through the town with the cool fire hydrants.

Sorry to hear the news, Phil. :(
I'll keep you in my prayers.
Let us know what you find out on Thursday.

Oh, things were VERY interesting.

My ex was being "generous" last week and let me have Maddy a day early. I smelled a rat right away, but happily took her an extra day. He never does something like that unless he's sneaking around.

Well, my instincts were correct. At today's deposition, he was asked what his address was, and he gave a completely NEW address. When asked how long he'd lived there, he said, "Since Thursday." When asked who lived there, he said, "Just myself and my daughter Madison."

Well, a few questions later, he was asked if he had a girlfriend. Yup. How old is she? 28 ( I THOUGHT SHE WAS **OLDER**!!). Where does she live? He paused. A LONG time. Then he said, "With me."

My lawyer (and I have to say I enjoyed this) said in a snarling tone, "But sir, did I not just ask you who resided in your apartment? You said just you and your daughter. Do you need to take a few moments to refresh your memory before we continue?" Apparently, all of my suspicions were DEAD ON. Dawn has NO job. She's lived with him for the 4 out of 6 weeks they've been together. Now, here's the kicker.

She's been married, but my ex doesn't know if she's divorced.

She has 3 kids.

She doesn't take care of them.

I have to tell you, I was SO ANGRY that my heart was POUNDING in my chest. I could see my shirt bouncing around from the heartbeat.

Why in the heck is this woman taking care of my daughter when she has 3 kids of her OWN?!!?! He said that she's moving back to Indiana in a few months, but I don't believe it.

I was also REALLY angry with this, because last night I called to talk to Maddy and both he and Dawn were trying to distract her and get her off of the phone. He finally said that Dawn was going home, and to give her hugs and kisses bye-bye. Then Dawn said she was going home, she loved Maddy, etc.

Uhhh...but you *were* home. They were playing a game with me to make me think she didn't live there. But of course, that all played out today.

Numerous other lies were told that my lawyer uncovered, and a lot of my ex's stories didn't make sense. He doesn't want me to have Maddy full time because of 4 things: 1. She and I share a bedroom/2. He doesn't have extended family here/3. She doesn't go to bed at a decent hour here/4. She cut her own hair here once.

My deposition was really easy and quick, but what was odd was his lawyer held a DOG the entire time his deposition was going on. He was stroking it like Mr. Bigglesworth from Austin Powers.

I had to confess to his lawyer and court reporter today that Maddy said my ex has been hitting her. If looks could kill, I'd be dead and buried.

Temporary custody hearing is on May 27th....wish me luck!!!

Wishing you all of the luck I can muster, Steph. We are all pulling for you.

Brer_Papa, we went to the Corvette Museum the weekend of Nov 1, 2002. I found it interesting, I like to look at old stuff. I like the gasoline service station set up that they have there with all of the period items in it. (That is there isn't it, I'm not mixing it up with some other place am I ??) Was there something special after June 02?

I didn't know that they did plant tours?, so I guess we missed that.

I have a tip for you.....don't go to the Wendy's right by the Corvette museum. We were in there forever, they were sooooooo slooooowwwww. It wasn't even funny:mad:
