Oh, My....it IS quiet here today!

Hi uraken & Fanci!

Robin - I'm SO excited about SS! Can't wait til the big day!

I just tried a new recipe. I butterflied a turkey breast and stuffed it with a spinach sausage mixture....we'll see how it turns out. It has sour cream, garlic, onions and parmesan cheese in it, too. It's in the oven now. It's for tomorrow night's dinner!

Well, I've got to change the bed then I'm goin' to bed! 5:30 rolls around early!

Nighty, night!

Hi all -

Been a while since I checked in - been crazy  around here....

Seems that all is well after the mammogram...different story with the ENT

I have "bone spurs" in my ear canals - they will never get smaller or go away but they can grow larger and will cause hearing loss :listen: - seems the doctor thinks I may be suffering from some of it already and I have to have an Audiology exam on Dec. 8 - I also have a crooked nose to the right but my deviated septum is on the left (he explained that it is similiar to a bent weather vane) and I have to have surgery - we decided to hold off on that for a couple of months in the meantime I will be on a steroid spray for my sinus'...surgery for my ears will wait for an indefinte amount of time unless it is deemed neccessary after the hearing exam......

Post Office on Thursday so I am sending my SS gift(s) then - I am almost done shopping for the family - a few more odds and ends here and there and then I will host my annual wrapping party - what you may ask is a wrapping party - well it's me locked in a room with all the Christmas movie classics and tape and paper and tags and everything scattered all over the place for about 4 hours so that it can all be undone in 10 minutes on Christmas morning - :goodvibes

The wind this morning was INSANE!!! Our Grill was knocked over and the propane tank went rolling down the hill - "Crazy Red-head seen chasing a propane tank down the hill".......I swear there was debris from 2 counties over that flew in our yard - I think I even saw a Pink Flamingo fly by me!!! It was NUTS!!

Well TKer's gotta motor and finish catching up on all my TiVO :3dglasses:

Have a great night all - TKERBELL

Remember the Miserable Mom......
KimRaye said:
Get this....a mom drops off her DS at school today, and says her DD is home with the flu (Kelly's classmate) and that her DD didn't want her friends to get sick. I told the Mom to thank her DD for us. Nice right? Get this! Kelly tells me that said girl SHOWED UP a little later, but couldn't make it through lunch. WHAT the SNAP was this mother thinking?! Oh, that's right, SHE WASN'T!!!! I was livid, I am livid. I called another mom to tell her of this, as we had talked after school about being grateful that she kept her DD home for ONCE, and then I hear this! This is the mom who brought her DD to the softball game, wait, I mean CARRIED, literally carried, to the softball game over the summer, and while her DD refused to bat or play the field, near the end of the game, she MADE her DD go out on the field, for pictures or video, or God knows what, and the girl proceeds to vomit (I have it on tape :crazy2: ) and rather than take her OUT, the parents left her in until she vomited AGAIN!!! While I feel soooo bad for this girl, I just wanna SMACK this mom!
Yes, another Mom & I went to the principal on Wed, before the 4 day break, so no time to act on anything, but he knows the history now.

Update: Yesterday 'mom' brought her DD to school with OBVIOUS Pink Eye!!! I was  I even heard her parents outside the classroom saying that 'her' eyes were getting worse, and then they left her! I mentioned this to 2 other parents who are also steaming! I waited until I could get a moment with the student teacher, and asked her if 'she' had pink eye, and she said she didn't know, but that 'mom' (and I use that term lightly) was coming back later and taking her out of school to see a Dr. Well, what the *()^)%&*(%&(%^ was she doing at school at all!!!!???? I went straight to the principal, who went straight to their classroom, and I left. After school, sure enough, there's a 2nd grade pink eye notice in Kelly's papers. Turns out the principal took 'her' out of class so 'mom' could come and get 'her' ASAP. Even the principal started a sentence, "What.....", and I said WE'LL NEVER understand. :sad2:

Thankfully, 'she' stayed home today but the 'mom' already stated 'she' will be back tomorrow after 24 hours of antibiotic.

I feel really bad for this little girl :guilty: , being sick so often, and even more so for having an idiot 'mom' who drags her out at her worst, but it's even further annoying that she's spreading this to our kids KNOWINGLY and unnecessarily.

Another parent, a Dad, had a meeting with the principal today over these same issues. He said he was well received, given the past week.

I'm no star parent, by any means. I've been called a few times when I've missed a symptom in the morning, to come and get Kelly, but these parents, in less than one week, have brought their DD to school twice KNOWING and ADMITTING in public that she was sick!

This lady better be :duck: if she comes around me anytime soon!

Sorry. I tried venting last night ;) , but the boards went down on me. :rotfl: Gave you all another day's peace. :teeth:

I am keeping up on reading  , just not much time to post from work or home lately. :guilty: For some reason, this upcoming month is very overwhelming to me. :confused3 :worried: 2 kids with Dec BDs and a slew of family as well.....makes for a lot of wrapping paper changes!

Holler if you need me! :grouphug: I'm here.....just mostly lurking. :guilty:

ZJO!

I declare, both Kim AND TKerbell came out of lurkdom last night! I'm so glad. Sorry that you've both been dealing with such issues.

Kim - that mom must drive you crazy. Unfortunately, I don't think she'll ever get the message. Sorry you're stuck with her. Sounds like you are super-duper busy....keep on lurkin and pop in and say hi when you can! Miss you!

TKerbell - WOW! You have a lot on your plate right now! Bone spurs and a bad sniffer? I hope the surgeries (if you have them both) go well. Your wrapping party sounds a lot like MY wrapping parties! Usually, I'm done by this time, but *sigh* not this year. Shopping is done - wrapping isn't!

Tinknutt - glad today is your Friday. Today is my Wednesday....DH decided that he had to try that turkey roll as soon as it came out of the oven. It was really good! We liked the spinach mixture enough that we'd have that for a side dish. We had a TON in the turkey breast.

Robin - you were quiet tonight....hope you're having a good morning....

..............you, too DalPal!

Good Morning :wave2:

Ann,

I made the BEST turkey soup from our thanksgiving turkey... :goodvibes ..
but I made so much that Ill have to freeze some of it....or we would be eating soup for a month :rotfl:

TN,
Thank you for offering to buy a wreath...and if I thought it would travel well Id send you one as a gift ...they are really easy to make(just a little hard on the hands)...But alas I think you would end up with a box of needles and a bunch of dryed sticks formed into a ring :rotfl2: with a very nice red velvet bow :rotfl2: sounds like something the "Adams Family" would have on their door :maleficen

OH...BPpppppp?....You are missing again! :3dglasses ...he must be busy...doing his Dec. job ;) ......

Well I better get my day started.....Have a great day everyone..
Happy Friday TN!...and Happy hump day to everyone else

Morning all.

We've gone from the sunshine to snow flurries again

I think that we are going to be taking Liz with us now for part of our January vacation. My parents, Rick and Liz and I are driving down to Florida, leaving Jan 4 (or maybe 3rd), staying at the POP Century until our cruise on Jan 8. We will put Liz on a plane headed home on our way to the port, since her classes start on Jan 9. Then the rest of us will go on the cruise.

That way she gets to have some of the vacation and also spends time with her grandparents. Alex doesn't know if he will go too but I'm doubting it since his girlfriend is home for the holidays. Alex or maybe my brother will go to Detroit to pick Liz up at the airport. I thought she might be nervous to travel by herself but she says that she's willing to do it, if she gets to go to Florida that way :smooth: She's pushing 19, so I think she SHOULD be able to handle it anyways.

Oh, did I tell you that she is boyfriend-less AGAIN. He left a couple of weeks ago and hopefully he will stay gone this time. ;) He got a job and moved to a city more than an hour away, so as long as he sticks with the job maybe he won't come back and Liz can move on. Here's hoping anyways :wizard:

Gotta go.

Have a great day everyone.

Sounds like the secret santa packages are starting to make their way to their new homes

:smooth:

How exciting :cheer2:
