Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

Morning everyone! Yeah...the sun is finally out and not a cloud in the sky!! It seems so long since it has been this pretty out!

The kids dress up but only visit three houses in the neighborhood since we live where it's pretty spread out. I always get a bowl of candy but in the almost 10 yrs we've been here, we've only had one trick or treater!

Robin...have a safe trip to North Carolina! I feel the need to get out of town right now, just for a break from the routine!

BP...good luck this weekend. I've played football shuffle on my line-up already but I'm sure I'll change it around at least once more on Sunday morning. Ya' know that if you ever run into a squirrel shortage up there, we've still got plenty down here. I don't know what's been going on but they are all over the road down here. I now think of you every time I see one!!

I know we wont do it.....but everytime I find a puddle or pile I look at him and tell him his days are numbered....I really dont know why I have so many animals(3 dogs, 2 horses), every time I turn around there is another problem with them. Just a glutten for punishment I suppose.
To tell the truth I LOVE animals....particularly mine. Its just been a hard year with them. My male Dal has epilepsy( just starting to control that with drugs). My female Dal broke her leg when we were on vacation at WDW last June and she is just getting her cast off. You know about my other older mutt.
I lease two horses from a camp for ten mos. a year(only cost is feed and care)and one of them has cancer, he is normaly fine,but I have to give him meds too.......I feel like a vet ...without the pay!

I do have fish in my pond( some nice 16-17in. bass too), but I didnt lose any....I was just a small overflow...enough to make my yard a mess...Im glad to say my work stopped the flow....I guess you could say I gave a dam

We only get my grandkids for trick or treating.
We live in the country on a dirt road that only has four houses on it.
I make caramel apples and homemade cup cakes for them....
Its kinda nice, because I dont have to worry about the parents not letting them eat them because of them not being pakaged.
I have nine grandchildren with one due in Dec. so I still decorate for them, but I dont dress up.

Good Morning Fellow Threadkillers!

I'm a wee bit sore from shoveling rocks all day yesterday. We got ourselves a BIG pile. We bought 6 yards - that's two truck beds full! Anyway, it will lift our shed up and keep it dry and we're going to do two more (small) drainage areas. Actually, DH is doing them. It helps with the rains......most especially when they come with hurricanes!

It is a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L day out today! It's going to get warm. I'm off to volunteer with my political party this morning. Then I'm going to go grocery shopping. I'm doing my "old mother Hubbard" impression!

DalPal - I understand about pets. They give so much love and are wonderful companions. DH and I have a little, tiny doggie that rules our lives. She is definitely queen of the universe! It's hard when they get sick.

luckymommy - I don't do fantasy football, but I do love the game. I always turn the games on - even if I don't watch. The sounds of football herald in the fall season. It's the start of the holidays, to me!

BrerPapa - you doin' okay? Hope your day is wonderful! Good luck with your trip, Cruisin.

Hi Betsy! Sounds like we're both animal lovers! Besides my older dog I have some sort of hound mix that we got last year after seeing it, three sisters and its mom running through our backyard. They were not living in the best of conditions and were getting out of their "kennel"--and I use that term very loosely. I told them that I couldn't take them all but I would take one of the puppies in return that they take three of my dog houses that I didn't use anymore and all the kennel fencing I had from a long time ago. They agreed so even if I couldn't take them all, I felt they would at least have a nice and newer home.
I used to have horses, my last one died last July. He was 25 but didn't act his age at all! I miss having them but I honestly don't miss the work!
I have four cats, one of which is my late grandma's cat. We found out she has cancer and has been going through chemo since earlier this spring. She's doing really well but I know what you mean about being a vet without the pay!! Sometime I'll have to see if I can upload any of my furry, four-legged children's pictures and try to post. I am posting to you from Gastonia, North Carolina from the Business Center in the Comfort Suites hotel

I was taking a walk down the hallway and I spied a room with a computer in it, just sitting here all alone . I asked the lady at the desk if there was a charge to use the computer and she said no. So here I am to say Hello to everyone.!!

Ann, we did not fly here to North Carolina we drove. It took about 12 hours to get here, including stops for leg stretching and also dinner and a few quick snacks.

Brer_Papa ............. did you hear me sending good vibes your way this morning when I turned right at Cleveland and headed south???????? I tried really hard and concentrated really hard on it, so I hope you picked it up.

aaaaah....good luck on your football....i think I'm ready....but....like you....i'll be checking Sunday for some last minute tweaking..

and...YES! I dress up for Halloween....we all do....whether here or if we go to WDW....

now....a couple years back....PA got me a "Big Bad Wolf" costume....big old thing where my face peeks out the neck...

and the "wolf" head and hat sit on top-o-my-noggin....

so...it arrives...and I try it on....of course, I JUST have to show some Grandkids...

except....the only car I can fit in with the costume on is the Corvette...with the T-tops off....

so...in i get...and away i go....

getting some odd looks....since the head of the "Big Bad Wolf" was higher than the windshield....

i thought i looked pretty cool....

well..i can tell you of the time my Sister called me....she was alone at the time...and their sow started birthing....

My Sister wanted me to come out to help the sow along....

at the time...I was babysittng Kara...so i took her with me to the farm...

we birthed the piglets......

and i anamed each one as they arrived into the world...

"Breakfast" "Lunch" "Supper" were born right after 1 another...

"BLT" & "Stuffed Pork Chops" took a little longer..

"Smoked Ham" & "Bacon Bits" were next...

well...to make a long story short....I correctly named them all right except for "Smoked Ham....she's still lounging around...Queen of the Baryard...

Hi there!

Glad you had a fun surprise BP. Cruisin was the brains behind the operation.....I was just along for the ride! BTW, did you check MosMom's signature? I keep going back to it and giggling. I guess you never know what will tickle someones funny bone! I like the names for the piggys.....very original - I love ham!

I love Halloween! I normally pass out candy, admire all the princesses and make a huge vat of Apple Cider for the adults. Then everyone gathers at our drive way - since we live at the beginning of the cul-de-sac.....I just can't do it this year. Since I can't have any kind of sugar, I can't be around it. I'm hoping next year. It's frustrating, but I've decided a nice, juicy steak will make up for it!

Tomorrow, DH and I are going to b'fast - what? You're not surprised? We're meeting DD, DSIL & GS. Always nice. Our DD and GS came over this afternoon - I snuck out for a half hour during my volunteer work to smother GS with kisses! Spent a TON of $$$ at the grocery store. I have Bunco on Tuesday, so I've gotta make snacks and a sugar-free dessert. I'm going to make a strawberry mousse. Sorta - it's a fake mousse!

Anyway, it's been a quiet evening. DH is sleeping....he's tired from all the work he's done the last few days and I'm enjoying a book - plus lurking on the DIS board!

ETA: I have the BEST recipe for pancakes. They are supposed to be the IHOP recipe, but I think they're better. Can't eat them any more because of the sugar & refined flour.....you interested? Let me know and I'll PM ya!

As for the other critter - no thanks.....If it isn't wrapped in cellophane, I'm not interested! I can't think of where the steak came from - unless I remind myself it came from the grocery store! If not, I'd be a vegatarian!

Well, H-E-L-L-O Every-bodeeeeee!!!! No, my puter's not fixed, never will be, just suffering through it right now. It was doing fine, long enough to read a couple emails, and start a thread about my dear friend, dopeygirl (Tricia), giving birth today!! A new DIS & !

I left work early today, woke up feeling yucky. Laid down for an hour, but didn't fall asleep. Still coughing/hacking away. Then, back to the routine...pick up DD from school, come home, turn around and take her to art class, pick her up from art class, go out to dinner at the place DS now works at, drop DS & his friend at the movies, and I was off to Costco.

Find out later, that we missed the UPS driver, as one who is WORKING will tend to do, and they're going to try again Monday! What on earth makes them think that Monday is any better than Friday, when people WORK?!?! The delivery is the new Disney Dream PC for DD (well, mostly for DD) , and we need it NOW!!! And they need a signature, in person, which I understand, given the delivery, but I have to make other arrangements somehow.

Oh, in case you're thinking of asking.......I'm in mourning, for my Cubbies. No good, rotten, (&)^#$*!!! And, I'm going to the final game on Sunday. Glutten that I am.

My posts usually take me some time normally, but with these GREMLINS inside the thing, it takes 3 times as long!!

I am still here at the hotel in North Carolina. I am waiting while the machine we came to look at gets "inspected". then we will be heading north again!!!

I have Three of my DGDs over every Sun. morning after church. I make pancakes . The girls think they are GREAT . Its funny all I do is put some cinnamon in the bisqick recipe.
I however dont know any rabbit recipes
