Hard time deciding how many points we truly need.

@ClaraOswald I love seeing how many of the things you can't put on a spreadsheet are starting to impact your thought process.

The lounge at Disneyland is awesome. I'm not saying we'll have it forever, but while it lasts.... it makes my trips to Disneyland a bit more magical every day.

Although I have a stronger emotional connection with VGC/GC, there is something that really makes me happy at VDH/DH. Have you seen the short Once Upon A Studio, how did you feel when Mickey stopped to say high to Walt's photo and Feed The Birds started to play. Knowing that DH is the original Disney Hotel Resort and although he worked with a friend/partner to build it, Walt was still there. There is a small bit of that feeling as I walk around the DH property that makes the restrictions, the TOT, all of the weirdness go mostly away. It has it's own charm and it feels special to me and my family.

This madness we obsess about is fun. Although if my dreams and career ambition go well I'll likely own a bit more VGC than VDH, I'll continue to add on at VDH direct or resale over the years too. I'll live in a garden Studio with @MrsNVDISFamily for a few weeks a year when we retire easily :)

I haven't seen that so I'll have to look it up.

I don't have any strong connections to the Disneyland Hotel. But I know that for my husband, growing up and going to Disneyland often, he always looked at it and wished he could stay here.

I remember wandering the grounds on one of my first visits to Disneyland (2004ish) and seeing the water feature area that I believe no longer exists. But I definitely loved the magical feel of the area, for sure! I don't think I've wandered down that way in over a decade now though so I'm excited to head over there in December.

Could you just do the Disneyland stay every other year? So that way you can bank and borrow? Would 2 years worth of points be enough to get the 1br?

Realistically you would have to determine how much you want to go. As your son gets older as well are you going to want to do other trips outside of Disney? Don't forget about that possibly filling up space your family calendar especially as they start to get busy with school and such.

You mean to VDH every other year? Or a Disneyland trip every other year?

Because every other year just isn't enough for us. Ha! I mean, sometimes the spacing does and will end up like that. For example, our last visit was June 2024 and our next one isn't until December 2025. But we're missing it so much!

We still do plan to take other trips here and there. That's why there will sometimes be gaps that would make 150 extra points a bit excessive to where we'd need to book a bigger room, stay longer, or rent the points. While our son is in the school, non-Disney trips will mostly occur in the summertime. But we like to take 1 week in the winter for a DLR or WDW trip too.

Other than school and my husband's work...we don't have much in the way of commitments. Our son isn't in sports or anything like that.

Im betting they build another DVC resort as part of this, could make things even more interesting. Maybe even a hotel connected to the park?

VGC is already connected to the park. And if Disneyland Forward happens the way the plans look, both the Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place look like they will be connected to the parks. Not sure where else they would put one inside the parks.

There is that section of Disneyland Forward that's south of Katella that could have a hotel though.

Some people think the Toy Story lot will become a 3rd park instead of the retail district they teased. If so, that could easily include another DVC tower there.

Don't get rid of my favorite parking lot 😒
If what they said during the proposal for Disneyland forward is true we may get some awesome transportation options in the area from the new garage up the street connecting the new district to the parks and hopefully a tie in to the DH area hub too.

A skyliner without all of the drama of Florida weather or even better a proper peoplemover….

I do love having the Toy Story lot and bus depot as a backup for more transportation to the parks so hopefully they do it right.

How incredibly amazing would this be? Ugh I got the chills just thinking about it

I absolutely hate mickey and friends and Pixar parking lot. Friday night is a nightmare while toy story is empty. I do hope they have more efficient transportation if they get rid of toy story lot, whatever it may be.

I believe the plan is the new structure will have direct access to the 5 in both directions with no lights or other obstruction and it total will be larger than the current two. No more dealing with the madness on ball road.

This Offhand Disney character is my people mover champion/spirit animal. I love how he sneaks in a suggestion that they bring it back to DLR every few minutes in almost every video he makes -

If they do bring one back I would love to see the look on his face when they announce that it's official. That would also give Disney room to tear out the legacy track inside the park if they do it right outside of the park. I'm not saying I want it out tomorrow, I love the shelter it adds to the land in a hot or rainy day, but if removing it allows for a great remodel of Tomorrowland let's go! I'm sure some would complain, but if they are moving people around (I just realized what I did there) the resort and the city I think that very strongly aligns with Walt's vision of the people mover and it would be nice to have a "ride" outside the park similar to WDW.
