Awesome story....and...a GHOST? Well..it is approaching Halloween..so...a GHOST it is!

well...I have to share this.....and don't go getting all "I told you so!" on me....

I was writing a PM earlier....when....all of a sudden...and VERY unexpectedly....I got an instant meassge from some friends I hadn't heard from in a while....some friends I had mentioned here before...

my elf friends who live in the North Pole....Robert & Jackie....


we IM'ed for over an hour....catching up....

what a wonderful night...

they did have a hot summer....but that caused major fires...some still burning...over 6.4 million acres....

they are waiting for winter to douse the fires completely....and

BRRRRR!!

they have a dusting of snow already....

they've been safe from the fires....but have ad EPA warnings because of the smoke....

so....I got some GK's to call tomorrow....let them know Papa was confabbing with elves!

the worst? they canceled their NY trip...they were to leave tomorrow....take in a show and a Yankee game.... see the sights...

I just sent a PM to Feralpeg and told her what I would like to have and she did the rest.

We weren't in our room at the POP Century more than 20 minutes when there was a knock at the door with a delivery from the front desk.

I tried to get on the boards last night, but the server was too busy. That's actually the first time I've received that signal...I guess that makes me a veteran!

Cruisin, it's chilly already? Ooh. I love chilly fall days, but only a few weeks of them, then a few cold days and then December 26th, I want to be back in shorts! That's not necessarily what happens, but my chances are better in Florida! I do so love crisp fall days.

Well, hubby and I are headed out for our walk, then I'm volunteering. After that, someone is coming over to look at the treadmill, then - hopefully - it's nap time!

Hiya all.. How's everyone's day going? Mine's crazy.. planning for the future and all ya know.

Those are some nice pics. It does look like you guys had fun. The rest of us were there in spirit. Didn't you see us?

It was a bit chilly when I went to work this morning at 6. Haven't been out to check to see if it warmed up. Most likely.

Brer_Papa.. I love to tiptoe .. Sure you couldn't hear those steps?? Everyone always says I am sneaky bacause they can never hear me walk up. Coming down the stairs, my dh thinks it's the 3yo. Then again everyone else in the family walk like elephants.

Now, I like coffee....Tom's the coffee drinker. However, I just got rid of all my mis-matched mugs, so I'll skip that one. I'm on the Fall exchange, tho!

I woke up from my nap about an hour ago and have been putzing round ever since! Reading, online, watching TV..........

DH and I are discussing a camping trip at Ft. Wilderness. Did any of you even know there was a camp site there? I didn't! The only way I could get DH to agree is NO parks! That's okay, we wanted to do strictly camping anyway. We're going to tent camp and are considerng purchasing a small RV in a few years. Anyway, I'm very excited.

Other than that, I volunteered today and we sold the treadmill. Since I've been walking every day with DH, I hardly ever get on the treadmill. Our barber was looking for one and bought it today.

Well, that's all the news at my end. I'll scoot for now. I've got to post my exercise on the WISH board.

Yes, Hollyann, I knew that there was a campground there, I have never seen it though. I think if you ask Brer_Papa, he is quite familiar with it.

If Tom says no parks, can you still go around to look at the resorts or to Downtown Disney?????

That would still get you your Disney fix but keep you out of the parks

Hey Robin, I can go to Downtown Disney and other areas, but I think I'd really like to focus on just camping this time. I'm very excited about exploring all that Ft. Wilderness has to offer! I've also gotten lots of info on the camping at Disney DIS thread.

We had a bit of excitement here this evening. My folks came over for a quick visit and holly dog (yes, the dog's name is holly - not mine!) was going crazy at the door. Since she usually does that in the hopes that "grandpa & grandma" will take her for a ride - we didn't see anything unusual about that.

We opened the door and were going to walk the folks out. Well, holly was doing what we call "The Chicken Dance" that she usually does around frogs. Except this time, it was around a snake! Not just any snake, a red, black & yellow striped snake. It's very hard to tell the difference between the venemous and non-venemous types.....especially at night!

I started panicking (of course) and Tom went outside and shooed holly away. I grabbed a shovel for him and a flashlight for dad. Mom got holly inside and was feeding her cookies to keep her occupied and happy.

Well, after a struggle, because the snake was trying to go under some landscape timbers, and many tool deliveries later.....Tom managed to part the snakes body from it's head!

We looked it up and it was a Coral snake - very venemous! Then we looked again and it may have been a copy-cat snake that isn't venemous! Either way, we couldn't tell the difference and assumed the worst.

Thank goodness no one was harmed. I was worried about Holly trying to get the snake and Tom ran out without shoes - he wanted to get to the snake before it got away!

Mom said there was a boy in our area killed by a snake yesterday....the storm has brought them all out! It's been made worse with all the piles of cut & stacked downed trees, as they've found a new hiding place. Right by the sidewalks & streets where the kids play. I guess we'll be extra vigilant!

Well, that's all the scoop here. We're watching TV, reading and I'm STILL trying to get rid of this headache I've had since 10am! Take care and I'll lurk & say hello later on!

You know...i was looking at a leaf that had just fallen off a tree.....it was colored a bright crimson....


when suddenly....it dawned on me...

I hadn't looked at my toe lately....

anyway....that led me to take a drive....and then I went for a walk in the woods....where I sat under a tree....

and looked at my toe....

when suddenly...it dawned on me....

the leaves are changing and the colors are bcoming vibrant.....so..i collected up some of them....
