What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?

Exorcist. Was in high school when it came out and I was absolutely terrified to be alone for days after. I would go to sleep at night with the radio on and, I'm sure it was subliminal, but I woke up about 2 a.m. a couple of days after seeing the movie and the theme song from the movie(Tubular Bells) was playing on the radio. YIKES!! :scared1:

The Descent was pretty good, it had me on the edge of my seat but not because of the creatures. Just being in a dark cave, can't see where you're going with some high places to cross :scared1:

Psycho was the scariest movie I ever saw. I was scared to be in the shower after watching that movie.

Whew! Glad to be on the 5th page, I scrolled so fast down the 4th so I didn't have to see those scary eyes!! I figured someone would post a picture.

I know not to ever watch the Exorcist- that is the scariest movie I have (not) ever seen. The scariest movie to me would have to be the Sixth Sense. I know some people thought it was kind of funny but I have never been so scared of a movie in all my life. The thought of seeing dead people just completely freaks me out. Eeeewww!

The Exorcist is for sure the scariest ever IMO. Normally "scary" movies don't bother me but that one freaked me out big time.

The Ring scared me too. That little girl is just creepy!

:rotfl2: Killer Klowns from Outer Space.. now that's a classic. :lmao:

Hands down the scariest movie I have ever seen is The Exorcist III. My fiance recommended it since I love horror movies. I thought I would hate it as I really didn't like the original (am I twisted if I find the original Exorcist kinda funny?) and this was the third in the series. I was terribly wrong. It was the most disturbing, horrific, nightmare-inducing film, all without resorting to cheap thrills and gore. Add extra nightmare points if you were raised Catholic as it really touches on Church teachings of good vs. evil. Very subtle, lots of psychology and some unforgettably frightening moments. Might be unwatchable for those freaked out by the original Exorcist "crab-walking" scene. ;)
Other contenders include Ju-On: The Grudge (original Japanese film), Candyman (never played Bloody Mary again) and a made for TV movie with Valerie Harper called Don't go to Sleep. I was a kid and my mom had to not only walk me to the bathroom but stand outside the door for many weeks after watching that.

Halloween scared me and it still creeps me out. The music is something else!

The Ring also got to me. When that girl came out of the TV, I was ready to run out of the room. :scared1:

I know that a lot of people don't agree but Blair Witch scared me. I think it's because the forest is so spooky at night IMO.

Finally Saw creeped me out big time. I still haven't made myself watch Saw II and they're going to release Saw III soon! :scared:

That picture just made my heart skip a beat...I really hate it, creeps me out big time, now I won't get any sleep tonight. (even though I scrolled past it super fast, I still saw way too much of it and since I wasn't expecting it, YIKES) I won't be opening this thread again.

I would have to say Saw was the scariest and most intense I've seen. I can think of lots of movies that gave me the creeps for a while after I saw them: just about any zombie movie; Blair Witch Project; Omen (the original)

OH DAMN..erm.. sorry for the colorful language there... I too will not be opening this thread again...just seeing that "thing" or hearing it...will give me nightmares.. no sleep for me tonight, I'm afraid!

I can't even hear the music from it. I never saw it, never will...the commercials freaked me out and I TRIED to read the book way back when and I have to tell you I had to stop....too many wierd things happened to me around then and I tied it all to the book. My kids have seent he movie and it doesn't faze them at all.
I am the EXACT SAME WAY and am now avoiding page 4 of this thread like the plague!

The Blair Witch Project. It was scary that so many people actually liked that film or that it ever made it into real theaters. :rotfl: I lost all faith in humanity that night... :guilty:

It is still the only movie I have ever gotten up and walked out from. :rolleyes1

Blair Witch... Guess I was in a simple state of mind :confused3 I appreciated the simple storytelling done on no budget. Not the scariest movie I've ever seen, but I remember it giving me the creeps the first couple times I went into ur unfinished basement after I saw the movie.

Different things scare different people. That doesn't make them wrong. :confused3

Slasher flicks don't bother me. I know they are fake. Thrillers are ok. They kind of make me think. But, I can not watch Arachniphobia. All those spiders totally creep me out! Can not tolerate spiders of any sort or size! :scared:

I think she is kinda cute!

House of Wax ( the new one) really freaked me out.

I really hate the Chucky movies, maybe it is because my daughter has so many dolls....
