What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?

Hitcher. That really disturbed me for some reason.
The Hitcher is my #2...creepy scary.. but by far the worst was Candyman. I was driving home alone after seeing it and couldnt look in the rearview mirror...still freaks me out. An I LOVE horror movies...none of the others mentioned here phased me in the least! But for some reason Candyman did. And now I cannot say it again...

The Exocist and The Thing were the only two movies that ever scared the hell outta me. I was only 8 when I watched the Exorist ... evil older brothers when mom and dad went out. Now, I like both movies and they are part of my dvd library.

The original and 1990 version of Night of the Living Dead.

Hands down it is the original "Halloween" for me. Holy crap, that movie is haunting and the music, well, it makes me want to bury my head under the pillow and think happy thoughts. Every once in a while someone might suggest seeing a horror movie, and I just say "No thanks, I'll save the $10 and just think of the movie Halloween if I want to get the bejeebers scared out of me". LOL.

My best friend, Tim, lives in Pasadena, and one year I went out to visit him. He took me to every single Halloween location, and it was AWESOME. I saw the Meyers house, the Wallace and Doyle houses, Laurie's house, the hardware store where Michael broke in, the "sanitarium" yard where Michael breaks out of the hospital...and much, much more. I have pics like crazy from that trip :)

The original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. It was back in the late '60's and I can still see those zombies, or whatever they were, walking and eating body parts.

Still gives me the creeps

Seven.

Not as scary in the traditional sense as some of the movies mentioned, but it really disturbed me.

War of the Worlds (the orginal)

Carrie

Trilogy of Terror

Halloween (1st one) (when I fell in  with JLC)

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

The Hills have eyes freaked me out!!! So did "The others"

"The Prince of Darkness" and "The Serpant and the Rainbow."

Both scared the **** out of me!

Exorcist (that posted picture will give me nightmares, thank you)
The Ring
Trilogy of Terror (was that in theaters? I saw it on tv)
Friday the 13th (hey I was young - now I'd just wonder why they don't turn on the lights and leave camp)

Although not a "Movie", Stephen Kings IT scared the %$*@ out of me when I saw it as a kid. I have a fear of clowns now because of that movie.

Not a horror movie, but "Silence of the Lambs" scares the %*$#@ if I watch it alone.

Then there's The Ring... I LOVE that movie, because it's not a slasher lets-show-as-much-gore-as-we-can kind of horror movie. I had bad dreams for a week after watching that movie. :scared:

1. The Exorcist--most of the movie!

2. The Shining--esp. the scene when the wife finds the jibberish he's been typing!

3. The Sixth Sense---this one really, really frightened me...Shamaylan made it seem too real.

Karla B. :scared1:

1. Halloween
2. Scream
3. Pet Cemetery

After watching Friday the 13th, I went to bed with the hall light on & kept seeing a giant Betsy Palmer looming in the doorway.

Okay, 10 minutes of Carrie just freaked me out.
Wolf Creek also creeped me out big time.
Haven't seen it but the Descent and the Grudge 2 looks freaking scary.

I think I was about the only one in the theater laughing when Regan twisted her hear all the way around, I thought it was so funny. Thought she was made up really frieghtingly though. And then when she spit the pea soup :rotfl:
