Sheryl--Oh goodness poor Alexis...how is she doing tonight? Please keep us posted and know that she is in my hearts and prayers.

Laura--That omelette looks perfect!! Ross will be drooling when I show him it. He makes one with italian herbs and onions in it, so he will be very envious of yours with brie oozing out of it!!

Aimee--Phew---please take a moment for yourself..I know easier said then done, but try!

Nancy--Thanks for the nice comments about Ross....he really is a nice kid...full fledged manners, and a heart as big as gold. He is one that if you hurt, he hurts with you, but twice as much. It was sweet to watch at the tournament as he kept track of, and helped all of his little dragons he teaches at karate. He was cheering them on, coaching and wiping tears of those who lost for the first time at this.
On a more serious note: Please know that my prayers are with all of you as you deal with this sad and serious issue. Your poor Aunt, bless her heart! I hope that Gail is able to hold the release off for a few days, she should talk to the social worker at the hospital they are sometimes able to halt things and help get services started a bit sooner.
Keep us posted when you can.

I am afraid you all might be right on the wrist issue, weather and (ahem) age I think are what is causing it to flare up from the injury.

I had the best dinner tonight and it almost didn't happen! I had bought an eggplant last week and when I went to cut it up tonight it was all brown inside :scared: I was a little peeved because I was so looking forward to it. I decided I would just have some Spinach Raviolli instead. I went into the freezer and there sitting on the very top was a box of Trader Joe's breaded eggplant! :woohoo: I completely forgot I had it. I baked it, covered in foil, in some Trader Joe's marinara for 45 min. then took the foil off and added some parmesan cheese and baked another 10. It was sooooooo good!

Can ya see all of her gray hair?

Awwww--she is darling!! How is she doing today?
What a pretty girl..:flower3:

The pizza at that place was so good! Our favorite was the Hawaiian Sunrise - Canadian bacon, pineapple, roasted cashews, sun dried cranberries, mozzerella and cheddar. I kept thinking it was something the "Liam Sisters" would create.

Their crust was very thin and so tasty.

Though I dreaded going, once I was there chit chatting it really was a great evening. I got to know some mom's I didn't know very well before so it was worth it =)

Tonight I am making chicken provencal soup and bread. It supposed to be rainy here all day so soup will be yummy :)

WFD at your house?

ETA: Is anyone else a little honked off that a TON of clique-type threads have been restored and the old WFD thread is nowhere in sight? Mods, all we wants is our recipes back!

Morning!

We are having pepperoni and mozzarella stromboli, sauce on the side and a salad. Quick and easy, A is supposed to have his first game tonight but it is supposed to rain.

Will be back to check in once the troops are off!

Morning all--quick check in before I head off to a meeting at school dealing with a child abuse case.....I hope the coffee is STRONG!! Prayers for this innocent child if you could spare one for her please.

Ross has karate tonight, and my best friend is stopping over for our suitcases as they are going on their first family trip to Disney in a few weeks!!
Supper tonight will be burgers and curly fries with cukes.

Have a good morning and I will be back in this afternoon to see how everyone is!!

I love Chef Ramsay! Buddy cannot stand the yelling and won't watch him but that only makes it easier for me to drool...over the food , of course :rolleyes1

Good luck to Andrew!

My aunt will be discharged to a Nursing home where my older sister works. I pushed my cousin hard on this and my Gail worked with my sister to get her in. This one is ion my town, has a god reputation and there are lots of activities for someone who is mobile. My cousin was opposed because she could not see past the price but it has worked out. Now we have some time to come up with a plan but in the meantime she will be in a facility where she can be observed in case this happens again, so far there was no medical reason that the Dr's can find.

I am not going to worry about dinner tonight becasue I want to help her with dinner at the hospital.

Hopefully the rain goes away here today, I am planning on grilling! :woohoo: I have chicken strips marinating in hot sauce for Grilled Buffalo chicken. Will serve that with some oven fries and asparagus.

While I have the grill up and running I am also going to grill some fruit and veggies for dishes the rest of the week.

WFD tonight: Tyler's "fake" chicken & dumplings. My 11 yr old loves to help out in the kitchen and one night a week we make dinner together. I let him do a large portion of this himself. He loves cooking and I think it's great he wants to cook. He created this one himself so it's a little unusual but surprisingly really good.

3 boneless chicken breasts shredded (big chunks)

1 can of cream of chicken soup

1 cup of milk

2 cups chicken broth

1 large can of Grands Butter Tastin biscuits, cut into quarters

Combine broth, milk, and soup into soup pot. Bring to boil. Add quartered biscuits and cook until done (10 minutes is what we usually do) Return chicken to pot and let simmer for about 30 minutes.

This is his recipe word for word so not exactly scientific but it's actually pretty good.

Hey ya'll. I think tonight will be BBQ Chicken Sammies ( a RR recipe)--according to my cookbook, I've had it before and liked it. My memory is fading already.

Kathy--so glad to hear that sammie doing better. Hope momma is doing better now as well!

I LOVE him and have a crush as well! I'm telling you we are twins!!

I am so happy this was able to be worked out Nancy. I know you will feel a great sense of relief.

Awwwww! What a cutie!

You're back???????

Sheryl, Where are you? How is Alexis?

She hasn't checked in on the NOLA thread yet either. I hope Alexis is OK.

:sad2: Some people are really disgusting! I hope everything works out.

I love the yelling...it is totally how I would be in there...well, kinda, sorta...

I am glad it is working out with your Aunt. You are truly a wonderful person for all the work you are helping with. Your sister too.

That looks so good. We may have to try this soon. My DS loves to help in the kitchen but hasn't lately. He gets so much homework for the 4th grade and by the time he's done, I try and let him relax and usually play...by the time he's done with the work, he's done with Mom for a while too! ;)

I LOVE him and have a crush as well! I'm telling you we are twins!!

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Oh dear, I hope everything is OK.

No more rain...I hope it holds out for the game. I am going to be a wreck (I may have to spike my coffee). A is not the greatest at catching. His batting has improved...he has been hitting them in the outfield (with the coach pitching though).

It's a cold April Fool's Day here! I'm really hoping that Spring shows it's head around here soon!

Dinner last night was so good! I'm going to share the recipe with y'all. It was quick, super easy, and all 4 kids cleaned their plates and had second helpings. Definitely a keeper in my house.

Sweet Citrus Chicken
6 servings

1 2/3 C. hot water
1 pkg. stuffing mix for chicken
6 small chicken breast halves
2/3 C. orange juice
1/3 C. firmly packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp butter, melted

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add hot water to stuffing mix; stir just until moistened. Set aside. Place chicken in 13 X 9-inch baking dish. Mix juice, sugar and butter until well blended; pour over chicken. Top with prepared stuffing. Bake 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

Dinner tonight will be Stroganoff Sandwiches. Warm, yummy and easy! Sounds perfect to me!
