[BI've got a number of questions.

First, does anyone know if the Malibus that are showing up recently on the EA are the new 2004 Malibus? I heard that the newest model is much better than the old 2003 Malibu. It seemed like at the end of last year, and early this year, Malibus disappeared and all you could find were Classics. So I thought maybe they stopped having Malibus on the Aisle, but now some of you are seeing them again.

They are the old style, which I heard are being manufactured just for rental companies. I did call them Malibu's in my report, but they were probably Classics. Definitely not the new style. I was surprised to also see them in the intermediate row.

I have not seen any Camry's in my recent trips. I rented one last May and ended up buying one in June.

In response to the question of the emerald executive aisle, I really didn't pay too much attention. If I remember I saw the sign to the left but didn't see many cars. Maybe 2 or 3 luxury sedans?
I was just amazed that the aisle seemed to be nothing but minivans until we saw 1 little PT Crusier hiding behind a large truck.

Debbie,
From what I have heard, Chevy is only making the Malibus for retail and the Classics for rental. I am happy they are in the intermediate aisle, because that is what they are classified as.
They are definitley NOT full sized cars.

Just rented from MCO May 3rd, and got a bright blue metallic PT Cruiser from the EA! Yeah!! There were 4 or 5 cruisers there at the time. Sorry I don't know what else, I was too excited to be getting the cruiser. Oh, my husband did ask if I wanted (some kind of small SUV) which was also there, but we took the Cruiser and loved it!

Could someone who is going down soon, please look at the Full-Size SUV aisle and report what is on it? We have one reserved for our next trip. :) Thanks!

We had this one on a previous trip (I am sure they have more than one, but anyway) and we loved it. It was just the right size for 2 of us and fun to drive, and you could ALWAYS find it in the parking lot. I have a Sorceror Mickey antennae topper that I take to put on rental vehicles to help identify them, and it matched the car perfectly.

I would take this same one again, it was really fun, and great on gas if I remember correctly.

rwe there....

use a pt cruiser with caution ( tongue in cheek )

we got one last january when we were down ( previously we thought they were too "cramped" ) and enjoyed it so much that we started to think it could be our NEXT car.....

well lo and behold as i write this, i look out the window at the 2004 pt cruiser that we just picked up yesterday ( we got a rather "dull" graphite metallic touring with sunroof and 5 speed which was the drving force in our purchase, we come to find out that this was the only 5 speed in that coulour availalbe in Ontario, so we "did" the purchase at the right time )

we used the internet to purchase it ( no dealer haggling ) and feel we got a good price ( within limits of business profits )....but the best part was not having to go to a show room and be pursued by a sales person ( all done from the quiet of the home )

albeit we did have to travel to toronto to pick it up, it was well worth it

thanks for this post too

wonder if we will cross paths when we are both there in June ( 4 - 7)

We'll be there June 4 -8, and looking to get a PT Cruiser off the EA too. Hope there's plenty!

We didn't rent at MCO, but at TPA instead, so this info is for those who might be renting at Tampa.
At TPA the EA was a very plain selection of regular intermediate + full size cars (mostly Classics, some Grand Ams, Intrepids, and Aleros). Across on the other side, the Executive Selection EA had some large sedans (didn't see the models), and a ton of SUVs (Tracker, VUE), and 6 PT Cruisers lined up in a row. We were unfortunately rushed when we returned our car to MCO, so didn't get a chance to look at that EA.

Just got back yesterday, this is what we saw on thursday May 13th around 5pm: one grand am, plenty of malibus, 2 aztecs (which is what we took) and one jeep.

On the EA on 5/3 was a lot of pt's some areo's and a couple of small suv's..we wound up taking the saturn vue which half waythru our trip would not start.called national they sent a tow truck with a jumper cable and the car was fine until we went to the beach in melbourne and the windshild wiper arm came off!! as we were going to DW the next day called national again and they told us to go to melbourne airport and pick out another car..doug at the airport told us to pick any FULL SIZE WE WANTED and we drove away in a buick century which was just beautiful..nice to know the national has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE.. :sunny:

i think i'm the only one around here who hates the pt cruiser! :teeth:

i got one on the EA last november and absolutely hated it. rode terrible, not a lot of 'trunk' space and why did they put the window controls on the dash? i felt like an idiot looking for them at the booth

We also hated the PT cruiser that we had. I think that some of our frustration was that ours didn't have power door locks. This made it very inconvenient when you needed something out of the back since you had to use the key to unlock it and then lock it again.

Ours was a base model, but if yours says "Touring Addition" on the back it will have power locks!

We saw a few Pontiac Grand Am-s on the aisle, did not look at anything else they had. We picked the first Grand Am we saw and absolutely loved this car.
I did not see any PT cruisers in the intermediate aisle, quite a few of them were in the executive aisle if I am not mistaken. We don't care for PT cruisers, so we did not look carefully, were too happy to see our favourite Grand Am :)
The whole rental procedure went very smoothly and was fast! Paid the exact price I got online, did not even ask me for a BJ card (I had the coupon but not the card). No problems using priceless contract ID!

Just picked our car from the EA at MCO last Saturday, 5/15. We got a Buick Rendevouz(SUV). There was also another SUV(maybe a RAV4?)as well as the usual Grand Am's, Mitsubishi Galants and a few PT cruisers. I was thrilled with the Rendevouz as I wanted something with lots of luggage space - I think the back was big enough to sleep in!! It was a comfy ride and the price was right - $87 for 4 days!

Oh, forgot to add, we got in around 6:00pm and there was no line at all in checking out the car-we were on our way within 1/2 hour of landing.
