We're late for a very important date May 2013 TR Updated 5/17 New TR started!

Caught up and joining in for the rest of your TR.

My youngest was 13 1/2 months during our trip in April, and I agree, it's a great age take babies to Disney. You and your family will have these memories forever even if your son doesn't remember them.

Well, that's a change of plans! :rotfl: Gavin sure looks happy to be waking up, though! Glad you got to AK and got your Fast Passes. But boo to bathroom lines! Looking forward to your next wild adventure!

Gavin always looks so happy in all of his pictures. I think we always sleep-in one day at WDW despite our plans. Considering your late start you seem to have been able to get quite a few things accomplished.

joining in!

I took my DS to WDW when he was 11 months and nursing! I made it through! but I am glad they can all feed themselves when we go now! LOL

Can't wait to hear more.

I like the life update! :thumbsup2

Very cool that you're still doing the monthly pictures. We stopped at 1 year, since that's what the stickers went to (and it was a near impossible task to get her to sit still long enough to take a picture). However, someone at work was asking me about them the other day and missed seeing them. Maybe we should've kept going, but we're missing 13 months now. Oh, well. Anyway, Gavin's are adorable and I like the way you put them together.

Wow, tall kiddo! We're pretty short still here. Think of all the rides with height requirements that he'll get to do early, maybe! :rotfl:

Cute Pooh car! We got Dug Baby a Minnie Mouse airplane ride-on toy for Christmas. Hoping she'll like it too!

Sounds like a nice Halloween. I didn't hand out any candy either. We had a couple bags, just in case, but were gone most of the evening (at my dad and step-mom's place) and nobody came by while we were home. Since the bags were unopened and I had a receipt, I returned them for a refund! :rotfl:

Aw, such a tiny little guy last year! Super cute!

I'm super impressed that you made Starring Rolls Butterfinger Cupcakes! Yum! That's awesome!

All good movies! We loved Wreck-It Ralph...enjoy!

STOP IT, you saw John Stamos?!?! That's amazing! I've had a crush on him for basically my entire life, good gosh, I would've freaked out. Moving on...

Gavin's such a cutie! Looks like he had a blast in the pool. I enjoyed your life update as well!

That was quite a change of plans for your AK day, but so far it looks like it is going ok. I'm glad to hear you are going with the flow- you have to with a baby in tow!

Yummy meal and FP for the safari and Everest- sounds pretty good to me.

The life update was great! What fantastic pictures of Gavin each month. Good for you for doing that. The changes each month are amazing.

we don't go to Starbucks much (Dee runs on Dunkin'), but we have had the lemon pound cake when we have been at Starbucks on vacation. YUM!

I really can't believe how big Gavin is getting! But oh my goodness, is he handsome! :goodvibes

I love that you found the recipe for the Butterfinger cupcakes and made them. One word: genius!

Hi Melissa! I love your photo collage of Gavin's monthly milestone picture. He is such the little man now. I completely agree with your Halloween logic, I wouldn't want to be stuck with a bag of candy for a couple trick-or-treaters.

Your baking skills are making me hungry! Those butterfinger cupcakes, I do not want to know that recipe since that could be dangerous in my house. ;) And lemon pound cake... one of my favorites!

My hubby and I were watching Brave last night.

As for your last TR update....It sounds like everyone needed their rest on your AK morning - it's all for the best! I loved that photo of you cuddling Gavin in bed - so precious.

If the Yak & Yeti CS is as good as the TS then I need to have some of that honey chicken! Sounds great.

Thanks again for sharing your life update! :)

Thanks for reading! Everyone kept saying it was silly to take a baby but I kept reminding them that WE would remember and that's all that matters! I can't imagine not having these memories with Gavin!

Well, that's a change of plans! :rotfl: Gavin sure looks happy to be waking up, though! Glad you got to AK and got your Fast Passes. But boo to bathroom lines! Looking forward to your next wild adventure!

All of our plans went out the window, lol.

While all of our days would've been easier if we got there at Rope Drop, we still managed to do just about everything we wanted to and sleep in!

joining in!

:welcome: Thanks for reading! I don't know, I think it was easier when he was just nursing. It's a lot messier now that he is feeding himself!

I like the life update! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure what the next height requirements are, but yes of course that's what we have been thinking LOL!

Taking the pictures gets harder and harder each month, but I'm glad I ordered another set. You should see some of the "outtakes" from our monthly pictures haha.

Gavin loves his ride on Pooh toy. I'm sure Dug baby will love hers too! I love looking in the seat every night when I put his toys away to see what he has in it, lol. The mini pumpkin (he is still carrying it around everywhere!) was in there tonight.

I'm glad you were able to return your candy, I would've done the same thing

The cupcakes were amazing... not easy to make but not difficult either. Definitely worth the effort. I wish I still had some... must make more and freeze them LOL.

We totally fell asleep watching Wreck it Ralph, so we have to have a re-do soon!

STOP IT, you saw John Stamos?!?! That's amazing! I've had a crush on him for basically my entire life, good gosh, I would've freaked out. Moving on...

Yep, I saw Uncle Jesse. I still can't believe it. I can't think of any celebrity I'd rather see more in Disney!

Thank you!

Haha that rhymed! Pretty much none of our days went according to my plans but it all worked out. I run on whatever coffee we have in the house, lol. Why didn't anyone tell me sooner how awesome coffee is? I started drinking it shortly after Gavin's birthday. The lemon pound cake was awesome, now I have to try Starbucks sometime and compare!

I really can't believe how big Gavin is getting! But oh my goodness, is he handsome! :goodvibes

I love that you found the recipe for the Butterfinger cupcakes and made them. One word: genius!

Thanks! They grow way too fast!! They were SO good. :thumbsup2 I wish I still had some, haha.

Thanks! I love seeing how much he has changed. He's growing up way too fast!

I really don't have any baking skills... they weren't exactly as easy as just making cupcakes out of a box, but it wasn't too difficult either. Definitely worth the effort. It was a nice Disney fix, that's for sure! The lemon pound cake was really good, now I have to compare it to the real thing sometime!

I'm pretty sure the honey chicken is the same from the TS restaurant. It's really good! Now if you could only get the cream cheese won tons from the CS location... talk about yum!

Hubs and I totally fell asleep watching Wreck it Ralph the other night, oops! We will have to watch it again soon. Brave is next, I really can't wait to see it!

Thanks for reading!

Love the life update...just a cute little man!

Thank you!

Your Yak and Yeti lunch looked like it was really good. Will have to give the restaurant a try one day.

EE is a great coaster. That backwards decline is like nothing else.

Had to laugh at your nursing spot being right at a CM entrance, only because I did that same thing when I was in DTD. I'm sure all the Wolfgang Puck Express chefs saw me that afternoon. :rotfl:

The photo of you guys eating ice cream is hilarious. You can tell it must have been hot out and the middle of the afternoon.

Okay, all caught up now!

Your late Animal Kingdom morning looks fun! I definitely can relate to having to change your plans like that on the fly! I don't think we were out the door as early as planned even one day of our trip!

Lunch looked great! We've never eaten there, even for counter service, but it looks quite tasty!

Sorry it took so long at the restroom! That's definitely not enough stalls, especially for a restaurant stop!

That white rhino was suuuuper close on your safari! How awesome!

Everest really is such a fun ride!! It's just beautifully done and so unique! They did a great job with it!

Your Animal Kingdom Photopass pictures are all wonderful!! :-)

Loved your life update as well! Gavin is just so cute and growing so much! It's great you're continuing the monthly pictures another year! We didn't do monthly for Laura, but actually daily!!! Since I'd take one every day and send it to my parents anyway, we started making sure to do it even when they were around and now have one for every day of her first year! It's amazing to look back day by day! I still take them regularly, but sometimes miss a day!

Those cupcakes you made look delicious!! Wow!

It's wonderful you got to have a movie night with your Hubby, too!!! I know how rare those can be!!

Great updates!! :-)

Ahh, Animal Kingdom. I'd love to be there right now! How cool that you're not really a coaster lover but you love EE! That ride is too fun!

Hmm, an ADR at Saratoga Springs? I honestly know so little about that resort that I have no idea where y'all were headed!

Haha that rhymed!

I totally did not intend to do that!!!

You must be in total Dr. Seuss mode.

So what did Gavin think about the animals on safari? Or was he just interested in the Fast Pass?

What an AWESOME picture in front of Everest. Gavin has the best smile there.

"Snackish" Love that word

The ice cream pictures are great. You have never had a Mickey bar before???:faint:

Yay for Dinosaur!

Paxton's hair is totally blonde but looks red in pictures sometimes too! We just got prints of his most recent school pictures yesterday and he looks like a ginger in most of them.

Perfect timing on the FP! I too sorely miss the days of never expiring FP's. It made it SO much easier, especially with a little one! And it's nice that the CM let him keep it to avoid a meltdown. :thumbsup2 I guess considering you were at the end of your window, it's not like you could use it again anyway! Might as well let it keep the baby occupied.

Paxton has never been too interested in the safari for some reason. Did Gavin seem to enjoy it? We always try to get him excited about the animals like, "LOOK! There's a GIRAFFE!! Do you see the ELEPHANTS?!?!?!" And Paxton is like, "Meh." :confused3 :lmao: He was a little more interested this year than in the past, but only when I compared each animal to something, like a stuffed animal he has or a character in a book/movie. Whatever works!!

First Mickey bar EVER?!?! That's crazy!! But at least you finally had one, they are heaven on a stick when it's hot out.

Yak and Yeti is so good! It's so much food, definitely a great CS spot.

That seems to have happened every time I nursed him in Disney, lol. I thought I found a nice quiet spot and bam! it was an exit or entrance to something haha. Surprising though he didn't get distracted at Disney while nursing so it wasn't an issue.

Okay, all caught up now!

We pretty much only made it out the door on time one day, and it was our last day in Disney haha. It ended up all working out okay though.

Wow daily! I take a lot of pictures of Gavin, but probably not daily. That's impressive!

Thanks! Thanks for reading!

haha not eating at Saratoga Springs, had to detour there!

Yay for Dinosaur!

He was pretty chill, and was more into the FP in his hand than anything else haha. We did get a reaction out of him when we saw the giraffes, we were calling them "Sophie". That was about it though.

The everest PP turned out so good, I was glad we stopped! The photographer was a young girl and my Gavin is a huge flirt, haha.

Snackish is one of my favorite words :thumbsup2

I know... I have a seriously long "need to do" list for Disney.

Paxton's hair is totally blonde but looks red in pictures sometimes too! We just got prints of his most recent school pictures yesterday and he looks like a ginger in most of them.

First Mickey bar EVER?!?! That's crazy!! But at least you finally had one, they are heaven on a stick when it's hot out.

I think it's weird it shows up red... everyone always comments on it in pictures and I'm like seriously, not red at all haha! It keeps getting lighter actually.

Even if we weren't at the end of the FP window, by the time Gavin was done with the FP we couldn't have used it again LOL. Slobbery mess!

We tried to get Gavin interested but nothing. We got a little reaction around the giraffes, they might have been easier for him to see and he loves his Sophie the giraffe so we kept calling them Sophie.

Seriously loving the Mickey bars... that is going to have to be a must do each trip!
