I can now scrap pictures of my smashed meniscus, the arthritis and the repair work! It's so wierd--the pix look like an underwater scene, cuz there's no blood anywhere. Ya kinda wonder where the fish are and the color is wrong. It's a pinky-yellow instead of blue-green. Fascinating!!

Geek :teeth:

I'm glad the stiches are out though :)

Good Friday morning y'all! :bounce:

Okay the new smilies are cute but where is one where the person is giving someone a raspberry and the one where you take a drink while looking at your computer and spew all over the computer! Those are the ones I'm waiting for!!

Good morning gang,

I had my bowling last night...I did lousy :( My high game was a 167. My other two games didn't even come up to the kids that were bowling next to Suzanne and company last night! But there was a really cute guy with a nice butt! Yummy! alas...he smokes and is about 23 yo :( Oh well, he makes nice eye candy!

Suzanne...I only have a desk top and it gets kind of difficult to carry it around the house! Sorry you have found someone's lost weight too. Sucks don't it!

Elaine...we still have spices left from the turn of the century!! .....the 19th that is! :rotfl:

Sherry...hope the headache gets better. Enjoy errands with the tot!

Beth...glad the knee is healing nicely. My db may have to have surgery on his knee. They regular pcp said it was probably a torn miniscus or a torn ligament. So he goes next friday to the knee doc to find out. Did you make it to drop off the work before the DM came? Still planning a summer trip but gotta wait and see when Colleen is coming!

Karen... oh and I've decided that you CANNOT go to WDW in OCT. The reason is that all the mothy yaya's will be in FL and there will only be a couple of us left to keep this from falling to page 300 (and I wont' be able to post much during the day next year). So nope...you are not allowed to go you must stay here and dis with us!! :teeth:

Nancy...by surround do you mean the kitchen counters or something else. I'm redecoratingly challenged!

We've had a cat hanging around our house for the last couple of weeks and the other day I got down and was able to pet it and hold it. It was a really sweet boy (it was obvious!) kitty. He was a orange and white one. I called the neighbor to see if it was her cat but she never called me back. So last night mom saw him and he had a scratched up face where it appeared he got into a fight. Mom called the animal control to pick him up and while waiting mom was able to get a hold of him and pet him and feed him. She was even able to put him in the cat carrier we have for the rabbit. He didn't complain at all. He has front claws but kept them so far retracted that they almost didn't see them. I would love to go get him and bring him home (after they do their part at the spca) but I can't afford another mouth to feed. So I told the lady I work with about him and she has cats and loves her cats so I'm hoping she will go and get him.

Okay, I'm off to get some work done. I'll be back later!

Good Morning everyone.....

Has anyone seen my dignity? It seems to have been ripped out of me - chewed upand spit out at a meeting at work yesterday. Here's the cliff notes version....we are a bunch of lazy incompetent losers. The want us to start mandatory training - not don't get me wrong - I am fully aware that mandatory training is essential to keep up with new products and procedures. However this would be give not during our regularily scheduled hours. So....I ask - can we schedule at different times of the day and/or Saturdays (office is open 9-4) to take into consideration peoples personal time? I get looked at like I have 3 heads. So...opening mouth inserting foot....I use myself as an example - I say my daughter has a full time summer job - we only have 1 car between us - if she ws not working in this biulding I would not have been able to be here for this meeting.....I get told "if you can't be here when we need you to then you may as well leave right now"....insert image of my chin falling to the floor. Guess I know where my 17 yrs of service stands....So we have a "mandatory" meeting next Thursday to put all the cards on the table.....I already have 2 people unable to attend and 1 refusing......me thinks no good will come of this.

Went birthday shopping for Alyssa yesterday - I was dissapointed that there were no jewelry sale at Kohls... went to Target and bought her

What do you think?

Tara - I loved the pictures...I know I've said it before but Ethan looks so much like my Chris when he was little.....such a cutie! :lovestruc

Nancy - hurray on bathroom re-doing!! :woohoo: Can you come do mine next?? We have such bad ventilation on the upstairs bathroom - causing serious mold issues....

Elaine ...happy cleaning day.... :yay:

Beth - so glad to hear that the recovery is going well. :cheer2:

HI Karen - Happy Friday

Hi Sherry - hope the headache goes away quickly :flower3:

HI Suzanne - Hi Alan....

Keeping Octoberbeauty in my prayers..... :grouphug:

Morning Ya Yas!

Elaine, yay for the doors. I know it will be great having that off the list.

btw, I owe you a Thank You! for your support and encouragement. I'm quite close in naming "the day."

Paula, lovely gift for DD. Sorry about your woes at work. Yup, we've all discovered there is no loyalty from employers regarding loyal employees. DH almost lost his job as the numbers were being crunched. He is the BEST at his job they have and everyone's jaws dropped over that one. Luckily he was kept, but we know he would have made it on the "outside" because he is good. Whatever happens, you will make it. Praying for you to make it through all the difficulty you are facing.

Tara, there is nothing wrong with looking. I appreciate a nice work of art when I see one. Age does determine the appreciation level in my mind though.
Nancy, glad you are making progress on the project. Yep, those plumbing and kitchen things are costly for sure. Oooh, I forgot to say Thank You! for the birthday card you sent. It was fun opening it and celebrating.

Beth, glad your recovering is going good.

Hey, I've got them! Those pounds. Here they are. All my hard work shedding and these meds are causing me to pick up everyone's lost pounds. I am afraid I may jump back up.

Spent last evening in ER (well actuall doc in the box--med center) with DS#1. He's got some allergic reaction and is red/itchy/messed up all over. Today he is still miserable, but taking prednisone and hoping that will jump in and reduce the problem some. He said if he had this and his shoulder stuff going on at the smae time that he would end it all. He is sort of miserable.

I like the new smileys. Hope that the server busy issue will be a thing of the past too.

Back from shopping. Nephew was pretty good. He's sleeping now. :teeth:
Thankfully the rain held off until we got home, too. :bounce:

Beth, glad to hear the recovery is going so good.

Elaine, I'll have to check out that link. Thanks. :)

Paula, sorry about the horrible meeting and all the work problems. :(
Nice gift. :)

Tara, sorry about the bowling score, but yay for eye candy. :teeth:

Kimmar, those smileys are too cute. :)

Hi Alan!

Suzanne, I hate when I have to use DH's desktop. Nothing beats my laptop. :teeth:

Let my try this one again... just as I was finishing up, I lost power.

Gotta love thunderstorms!!!

Love this smilie
dance.gif

Tara, I say go after the 23 year old... he can always quit smoking and it is nice to keep younger guys around ;)

Paula  you have my prayers for your work situation. Love the gift too!

Lily, sorry about the night in the doc in a box... hope he's feeling better very quickly!!!!

Sherry, have fun at the site. They have awesome spices... never found any better and totally changed how I cook!

Okay that wasn't quite as elaborate as my last one, but trust me, after I was just about to submit, I don't think I had the heart to do it all again ;)

Are you ready for the Jarrod story of the day??????????????

My moron of a son decided this morning that instead of washing his face and brushing his teeth that he would see how much air freshner was in the can. We have this citrus spray around the house and it is made with an orange oil and it is VERY strong. He apparently decided to test it on his body and the door in the bathroom and used every bit of it up.

This led to his shirt being soaked in the stuff and him getting it on his face. His face turned red like he had a sun burn and when my mom tried to wash it off his face (per the directions on the can) he started screaming like a banschee and refused to let her clean his face.

She called me and I called the ped. They said to call poison control. So mom called them and they told her that unless his eye started hurting or his breathing became difficult he would be fine. He said there was nothing that the peds office or the er could do that mom couldn't do for his face.

I made him go on to school. I called the school nurse and told her about it and told her what we had done and that he was going to live. She laughed but I think she probably thought I was a terrible mother for sending him to school with his face all red. I told Jarrod that he had to go to school since he wasn't in the hospital.

Lord if I survive this kid it will be one freaking miracle!!!

tara

Tara, oops. Good for you to have him continue on to school. I'm sure they all enjoyed the fragarance.

Elaine, Tstorms! Stay safe.

Sherry, hope you got Aleve on your shopping trip and that your heacache is gone now.

Work was a bit more than it shouild be, but I did cause a bit more tension today. I told boss I'm thinking of retiring. Not certain, but real close.

Sorry about the trip with DS, Lily. Is doing alright now?

:yay: for shopping, Sherry. Do check out Penzey's. They are the best!! My spice cabinet overflows ;) I never come close to running out.....I don't dare.

Tara, glad nothing drastic happened to Jarrod. He is a hoot though ;) I bet he smelled purty.
It's alright to look at young guys, isn't it
Go for it!! :hyper:

Sorry about the job situation, Paula. That really stinks.
Nice gift. ::yes::
I am almost done with Christin's BD shopping (hers is the 29th).
She wants appliances too :rotfl:

That's as much as I can remember  Sorry if I missed something important.

Oh...:yay: for new door next week.
New tile here....on the 20th :( They are rather booked. I pleaded to get that one.
It'll take 4 days! No wonder labor was so much.
Surround is for the bathtubs, Tara. I can't wait!! :bounce:
And I am getting plenty of Disney reward $$$...$$$ these days ::yes::

hey gang!

I'm sitting here enjoying my second crown royal and diet coke, anyone care to join me?

I realize due to the thunderstorm, I did forget to say we got our call and the door will be installed on Wednesday morning :teeth: I will be painting the exterior that day at least. The interior might wait. We might ahve people here next weekend which means I won't want to tackle the two rooms between then and Friday night ;)

Tara :rotfl: I shouldn't be laughing, but I'm actually with you on that. I think Jarrod was probably fine to be there. I remember I did a lot of dancing as a kid and one time in particular, the make up made my face totally break out. My mom told them it was just a reaction to the make up, but the stupid nurse didn't believe me. She took me into her office and made me strip (jumpers from catholic schooling) down to nearly nothing so she could check my stomach for chicken pox  At least your nurse listened ;)

Lily, good luck with work! You know that I feel retirement can be the best thing in the world!!! Trust me, you won't be bored ;)

Wow  :faint: Four days? Good luck with that one Nancy! I am just sorry that you will have to wait so long on it. You'll have to take pics when you are done ::yes::

Oh and Tara, I'll skip on the RC & diet, but if you have a glass of white wine, I'll join ya ;)

I should go to sleep. Tired now because of the lack of sleep. At least my back is feeling much better today. Never got to the clothes, but they are clean, wrinkle free and can wait to be folded one more day ;)

Going tomorow to my cousin who just had the little baby last month. Bringing some food for her. Not that she can't cook, but at least she'll get home made food and left overs w/ nearly no work! I'll hopefully remember my camera and take pictures of James :)

Have a good night y'all!

Hey elaine,
I was greateful the nurse listened and by the time he got home he was fine!!

Although he has been a royal pita all evening and mom was ready to choke him by the time I got home from the going away party we had tonight. we have found several more places he sprayed that crap on....including the clock that matched the bathroom perfectly that we'll probably never be able to replace...the plastic cover has been eaten away by that stuff! I'm surprised it didn't do that to his face!!

I told Jarrod he was grounded and when he asked for how long I told him until he was 30!! :lmao: He looked a little bummed. We won't let him out of our sight because every time my mom has turned around today he has gotten into something. I'm hoping I don't feel the need to do him in this weekend! Anyone want a used 6 year old???

No white wine here...I can sometimes drink a zinfendel or some such thing but wines usually give me headaches. Sorry we won't be drinking together!!

Off to look around and then go to bed since everyone seems to be off here now!!

good night all!
tara

Oh goodie, baby pics! Can't wait.

Dogs are out for their last stroll. Cool evening herre. Hope to get some great sleep. Windows are open.

Evening, all.

Tara, I do believe I'll join you in that beverage. I've been sitting at the desk for three hours. We're changing our website, which means we lose the email client we use. I've been sifting through every email to make a spreadsheet of those I need to call. My eyes are burning!

Like the new smileys
:happytv: is definitely Kevin
:dance3: looks like it could be the dance of the seven veals
:dogdance: is just too darn cute!

Bethie, I have a question for you. Is there a window cling on the market that one could print onto? I'd like to use window clings for store hours-to change as needed. If not, I'm going to use some stencils and paint to avoid suction cups!

Paula, I'm so sorry for the work problems. It really sucks that they don't appreciate the time and dedication you have had.

Lily, sounds like you've got steroids, if you've gained some weight. How'd things go with the doc?

I'm happy. I ordered a new power cable for my laptop, since no one seems to carry a universal that works with my model. I told boss that I was w/o it (and at the time I need it the most) and she told me they'd pick up the tab for the adapter, since I use it for work so much. I prefer doing it that way-then I've got my software and files with me. Yep, eventually I'll have a work machine, I'm not sure if I want it.

We did a menu item test tonight-the chefs are tired of all the sampling, so Ed and I were the ones to try the final recipe. Woohoo!

I am beat, and should hit the hay.

Haven't been around to know-do new smileys mean the boards are working well, or is this a coverup to make us forget how slow the boards are?

Suzanne

Suzanne, Yay for new menu and laptop stuff.

Printable window clings. Well if they don't exist you should make them. I'm sure they'd be a big hit! Great idea.

Doc thing is ok, I guess. Nothing found, so that is good news. Nothing changing on with my swallowing thing, so that is no news. I guess it's ok, the meds relieve it somewhat. Thanks for asking.

Off to beddie I go, g'nite all.

Morning Ya Yas!

I'm passing time whilst my meds settle in. Almost time for me to get the coffee going and my oatmeal...

Good morning, Ya Ya family! Yesterday's visit with my District Manager went quite well, although it went a lot longer than I expected. Luckily, she didn't see much to complain about other than a few empty spots. She DID say the store looked a bit "tattered" and needed to get neatened up a little more. but she solved my big problem with scheduling and informed me that I have the hours AND the pay to go with my official title of Acting Store Manager!! It's only temporary, until they hire a new manager, but it solves a major problem we were having with the payroll hours bugeted for our store.

Aww, Lily, sorry to hear about the doc-in-a-box run. Hope he's feeling better, now. Sorry, too, about the lack of definite resolution to your swallowing problem. I can't even begin to imagine how frustrating and downright scarey it must be, living with that.

Tara, I feel your pain! Sometimes ya just wanna put 'im in a cage, lock the door, and throw away the key, right?! Unfortunately, even the zoos don't want such an "exotic animal"!! Loved the pix from BG, btw! Ethan is looking so grown up!!

Laine, yep, that's the kind of door I love, too!! Looks gorgeous and I'm betting the waiting for installation is driving you right up the wall! Oh, and another thanks from me for introducing me to Penzy's. Gotta do all my shopping online, but it's worth it for the flavor and quality! What an improvement over McCormick!!

Paula, not sure whether to get angry or just cry over your work situation. What an insensitive jerk that guy is being!! It's getting bad all over, too. Seems like having a strong work ethic and company loyalty don't mean a hill of beans any more. All I can say is good luck and God bless. Oh, and I'm hiring for the store if you can manage the commute...... ;)

Don't know anything about window clings, Suzanne. We sell some 4"x6" acrylic sheets that can be printed on, but I don't know how well they'd stick to the window. Happy sampling!!

Speaking of meds, mine are kicking in and I've corrected more than I've typed properly in the last few lines. So I think I will take my uncontrollable fingers off to get some breakfast and finish getting dressed for work. I'll check in later this afternoon when I get off. Have a great Saturday!! :grouphug:
