I posted that it’s a balancing act and sometimes I too get caught up!

Since I have to read every post in every thread, I do sometimes forget which one I am in when I continue in those off topic discussions!!!!

Who is Panda and what was her/his unique/angle?

I would say he played the role of “off the streets” DVC member. They would bring up a topic and he would act shocked and uninformed, they would then use that to teach him and the listener/viewer about whatever they were talking about. He was also not as intimately involved with the world of DVC or worked at one of its tentacles.

Initially, Panda was a content creator about the parks.
Then, Panda joined the DVC show as their digital editor (at a time when You-Know-Who was still leading the show).
He then learned more and more about DVC and then bought DVC Direct at Riviera.
After You-Know-Who was vaporized, he joined the show as a regular member.
His job is not with the board sponsor.
He has a unique presence. A truly great personality.

I enjoyed his presence on all the shows. His presence will be missed.
I enjoy the content of the DVCFan shows.

I'm hoping this doesn't transform the show into solely an infomercial.

I think the comments about DVC fan being a hobby and him needing to focus on his day job sum it up pretty well.

I still like and enjoy the remaining team.

I’m very sad to see the mean-spirited posts and reactions on this page. For every person who complains, there are others thinking the same thing. Yes, Karen could have commented more respectfully, but I’m sure all of us can remember the anxiousness of waiting for ROFR and perhaps could extend a little grace to someone hoping to see updates - especially since there is a Not ROFR thread specifically because that discussion thread tends to get off topic.

Having delivered a morning lecture no one wants, I’m off to read some trip reports since I have five months to wait before I can go back to DW.

Well I was off my phone for night and the morning so I didn’t get to defend myself.

I think it is very mean spirited to come into a thread and demand that posts that are not offensive in anyway to be deleted. People took time out their lives to type out a helpful response to resort specific transportation woes at WDW, it helped me and could help many in the future who read the post. It is rude to call for those posts to be deleted. I can understand asking to get back on topic.. but that is not what was done. I’d say 80% of threads in this board go off topic.. it’s human nature.

Now since I didn’t see others comments made towards potentially myself and others I won’t comment on it. If you find me to be mean spirited block me. I don’t block anyone on here because I am not afraid of interaction. I can hold my own and intend to. So if anyone has anything they feel they need to say directly to me you can PM me.

He pops up in my FB feed showing off his new haircut every couple weeks. FB must think I’m that interested. . He is a a funny aspect to the DVC fan show. I dont watch the show often though.

As a side note I wonder how much crossover there is between this forum and the other platforms like the DVCFan facebook group. Are we all just the same people talking about the same stuff on another site

I lurk in those groups I don’t really post or comment at all. But I know many here do. I have noticed who certain people are here and over there.

I have noticed that somehow all the Disboards messages transfer over to a Reddit thread… not sure how or why since I have no Reddit account.

"Not holding my own" isn't the only reason to put someone on ignore. After all, I argue semi-professionally. It's not particularly difficult for me, and I'm good at it.

Instead, my attention and emotional equilibrium have become priceless over the years. Just because someone posts on the boards, that does not mean they are entitled to my attention. And, if their posts tend to rub me the wrong way---for whatever reason---then the chances that I'm going to give them my attention go down. Quickly.

I do every so often peek behind the Ignore curtain. I usually regret it. On the other hand, I almost never regret deciding to block and move on rather than arguing a point.

I'm not on Reddit, I find the formatting and voting aspect a bit off putting. Just took a look at one of the Reddit pages and agree it's not as active. I wonder why though.

Well well well... a perfect example of this. This morning I logged on to some messages that prompted me to look at boards and I got swept up in this. While that took my attention I completely forgot Christmas Tree cutting permits for my city went on sale. They are as hot of a commodity as AKV value rooms. You have to be logged and ready to buy when they release permits. Well I missed them. I was able to buy for a neighboring town but we aren't as familiar with the area. oops! Now how to explain to DH why we are driving North instead of East
