 for you, Paula. You'll be in my prayers.

John, you are . :lmao:

Alan, sorry, no recipes for plum jelly. I didn't even know there was such a thing as plum jelly.

Elaine, nice door. I don't like extreme heat or humidity. I've been enjoying my A/C, though. :teeth:

Hey gang!!

First...a great big raspberry to Kimmar!!!!!!!! She was picking on me about my spelling!! :lmao:

Nice door Elaine!! Don't start a thread about it because it could get turned into something naughty when people start talking about your knobs and moulding!!

John...oh pooh on Sue...I think your door is very nice! You should have been allowed to leave it until the party!! Congrats on getting your son graduated!!

Alan...plum jelly probably has something to do with cooking and since I don't cook, I can't help you!

Paula...good luck and good vibes for your job. I'm sorry things are so rough for you right now.

Suzanne...cleaning up after construction is never nice. Congrats to Kevin if I haven't already said it.

Lily...i'm planning on checking out your cancun pics soon! Good luck with all the tests.

Beth...how's the knee doing today?

Nancy...how's your remodeling job going?

Pam...I actually saw live animals today in my neighborhood...a little bunny, a squirrel running across the street, and birds chasing each other! It was a lovely picture and not a dead animal in sight!

Next post will have pictures, I've already done it and just need to move it from my word document!!

Ethan opening his present from his big brother. It’s a car that when you shake it, it will take off with the sirens going. Very cute!

An eagle at Busch Gardens. He turned to make sure I got a straight shot of him!

Jarrod was feeding the birds in the aviary at BG. This is one of Jarrod’s favorite things to do at BG. Ethan ran through yelling “biwdy biwdy”
eec52668.jpg

This is the LeMans raceway. I always let Jar drive but I come off of it with whiplash!
eec509a1.jpg

This picture was taken in the kiddie section where they have a stage with a little show on it. Ethan stuck his legs through the slats and sat there glued to the show. (don’t know why, cuz it was not a good show!)
eec4cb54.jpg

If you look closely at E’s lip you will notice that he has four holes in his lip. He was playing and slipped and bit his lip. He tends to suck on his lip and this is how he got the fat lip. Luckily it didn’t go all the way through so it only bled for a couple of minutes.
eec4caa3.jpg

Ethan loved this silly little boat ride. He rode it 3 or 4 times! I think he liked that he got to ride with cute girls!
eec4c8a2.jpg

I love the look on his face here. He really is having a good time!! Again it is a silly little ride but the kids sure like it!
eec4c490.jpg

He’s going to be a speed demon just like his brother!
eec4bf54.jpg

They rode this red barron ride and had a blast. Ethan loved the going up and down, but he couldn’t quite figure out how to do it when big brother left to ride the swings with me.
eec4b768.jpg

Ethan was copying big brother with his kids meal lunch box on his head. Ethan’s just made him look like Dumbo!
eec4b822.jpg

The last picture of the night. I don’t know who was more tired, the photographer who took the blurry picture or the grinning kid who was asleep in the car before we ever got out of the parking lot.

This is the sample set of how we are doing the kitchen and the dinning room. The dark color is the tall wall in the room and the lightest picture is going to be the cabinets for the room. We still have to pick a color for the walls in the kitchen too. The floor and the countertop will be done later. The countertop will cost about $300 so that will be the very last thing we do!
eec61430.jpg

A closer view of the colors.
eec60e8f.jpg

This is the room before we started clearing it. The color on the walls is a very pale pink.
eec60a09.jpg

The wall by the front door. The moulding around the door is going to be replaced (hopefully this weekend).
eec6063d.jpg

The wall where I took the 40 year old baseboard off. Notice the lovely shade of oranges the linoleum is!! This stuff is the ugliest stuff and peeling up around the room. The carpet is a mottled pink and grey and doesn’t look too bad with the wall color.
eec60100.jpg

This is the stairs leading up to the bedrooms. If you look closely you can see the darker paint where the pictures were hanging (or the Wall of the Dead as I like to call it…its amazing how many dead relatives I have!)
eec5fc66.jpg

This is the giant wall that is the darkest color. This wall was a real bear to paint. But we did it…the primer coat and the two wall color coats.
eec5f6c2.jpg

Paint finally hits the wall.
eec5f1e1.jpg

The side wall and the hallway done finally!
eec5d93d.jpg

I'll post the rest of the color pictures when I get some of the tall wall done. Haven't taken any pictures of it yet!

:rotfl: Good point!!! I'll be sure to keep that one to myself :teeth:

Never did make it to HD though. I plan on going tonight with Luis though. We can look at a few things together and maybe get the handle for the door out of the way too.

Tara, awesome pics! That youngest of yours... well if I said J had amazing eyes, E is blowing him away. You are going to have your hands full with those two ;)
As for the rooms and such, they will look great! I was just talking with my dad about the countertop and we know we will be installing it ourselves since it is so cheap otherwise.

Tired... allergies (cottonwood mostly) getting to me... might go lay down a while!

Great pictures, Tara ::yes:: Kids are sooo cute.
Home fixing is coming along. Love the color.
$300 for countertop?? Wow....I wish.

Cute door, John :rotfl:

What kind of door knob are you going to get, Elaine?

Nothing happening here right now.....but measurements will be taken tomorrow for the 2 tub surrounds.

What's this about Lainey's moldy knockers? :confused3

Y'all be careful that you don't end up in jail.

The law takes a dim view towards....

(wait on it)

counter-fitting!

I kill me! :lmao:

Nancy, good luck with the surrounds with the tubs! As for the doorknob, no clue. I think Luis wants one like this

we'll see what we wind up with

Sorry your counter will be so expensive. I know if we do the laminate, we'd only pay about $300 as well. I have to check on teh price per linear foot though. I remember seeing $29, but not sure what that was for.

Btw, I wish it did wind up killing him  ;)

:lmao: :lmao: Oh lordy the two boys think they are punny!!!

The kitchen counter is 22.15 a linear foot and while I haven't measured I think we roughly have 15 feet to do.

back later!!
tara

No laminate here.....sorry guys. Wouldn't have it in my kitchen.
Granite or Zodiaq (Silestone...those 2 are quartz products). Leaning toward the Zodiak. Sounds great.....but $66-90 a ft. Doing backsplashes too.
;) Not sorry it will be so expensive....I can't wait ::yes::

Can't wait to get all these estimates

:rotfl: Alan and John make quite a pair ;)

Elaine - Before you commit, you should shop around for a "counter" offer.
:rotfl:

We went to HD tonight and looked around. Luis thinks he wants two locks so it looks like we will have the standard door knob and then dead bolt lock. I'll look at doors in the neighborhood before I decide!

I also looked at the laminate here, and it is closer to what Tara had said. Ours said $18 and then $29/foot installed. I looked into granite for the heck of it, and honestly with how I cook, I don't want that hassle. I don't need something for heat, but I sure need something that I don't have to worry about destroying with lemon or vinegar. With those prices too, I couldn't see myself ever giving in to that! We only have 11 feet to cover to and we want to install it ourselves.
Then again with the Zodiaq, I can't find that in stores, so I figure it isn't worth it ;)

No counters for a while though, but with the cost of htem, we may do it some winter when we have nothing else better to do. It would only be $200 total... cheap way to make the kitchen look nicer.

Anywho... we got our trim picked out for the door and that'll be there when we get it installed (whenever that is)

I hope y'all have a great night!

Sorry I foisted my countertop opinions so strongly ;)
I'm sure whatever you get will be good for you.
Zodiaq is at Lowe's here....and Silestone is at HD.

I'll be looking at getting that done in August or so.

grr...I posted once and then came back to discover that the page was "invalid" i thought we had been poofed!!

anyway, no worry on the "foisting" about counter tops...I need cheap and easy....hehehe like me!!! :teeth:

nothing exciting here tonight. I didn't finish the room, i'm decided it would still be here tomorrow night...but then again I have counseling and bowling. So I'll do it friday night...oh but I have a going away party friday night. Darn I guess I'll have to do it on saturday!!

good night gang!!

Evening, all.

Spent a nice evening over at WL again. A fellow DISer and his family closed on their house down here (woohoo!) and so we got the families together. Two more years and they'll be living the snow free life-and I'll be checking in on their house a couple of times a month.

We're a very colorful bunch. The Crocs box showed up and it was like Christmas-the men all were in a rush to get them on. For the record, Orange, Green, Red and mine were turquoise! :rotfl: Then they proceeded to point them out in the lobby while we were waiting for dinner.

I had the executive desk today. A five gallon paint pail for the laptop, another for my planner and phone in hand, calling the people on our waiting list. Tomorrow is interviews, and I think those five gallon pails go from desks to seats!

Nancy, we've got silestone in the store and I'm going that route when it's time to replace the counters here. For laminate, mine doesn't look like it. We're not too rough on counters, even with the amount of cooking we do, so I don't think replacement will happen too soon.

John, I would have left the mirage door up a little while longer. That was quite funny!

Lainey, you're buying levitating levers?

Tiara, pictures were adorable! Kevin is begging to go bowling and has since Ed and I mentioned the beloved bowling alley next to our college. It was great for a beer at lunch-and my phys ed classes were bowling.
Yay on the painting.

Speaking of which, Ed has the day off tomorrow (slow week), so I gave him the task of finishing the office cleanup and transfer of stuff (desks and multiple guitars and amps). Once that's done, these walls are getting done!

Suzanne

Morning!

Tara, great pics. :)

Lily, your pics are great, too. :)

Not doing much here today. Some more laundry and I have to babysit. That's about it.
