Ah, no you didn't... Luis and I just had a long conversation about it yesterday while looking. He's big on doing it all himself and with anything other than laminate he won't consider it. Thanks for the Lowe's info though. I am really curious about the Zodiaq still... and since we are a few years away from replacing (unless he wants to do it earlier) this is more for fun. I rarely go to Lowes now since they have slightly higher prices than HD.

Though since I've been looking at the outdoor light fixture again, I might have to go back and look for fun there. I guess you could say my counter is one I am not going to fight Luis on. I admitedly use my table for a lot of big things since I don't have a lot of counter space to begin with.

I enjoy thinking and talking about the options though

Suzanne, I love the mental image of your desk!!! Woo hoo for the crocs! That is a pair of shoes Luis wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole I found out. My dad is hte same. Not even sure why we were talking about them this weekend I have a feeling both would find them comfortable. They both have wide feet and I've been told they are great for that!

Sherry, I hope your day isn't too bad. I know I have to finish folding laundry today.

I also have to bake today but I am out of vanilla. I think I need eggs too which means I am not sure I want to go Penzey's or not. Though if I do just run in and out w/o stopping for anything else, I am usually good!

We got our estimate for the door. A bit higher but since we have thicker walls (plaster) we'll need a new kit. And we are having them reinstall the storm door too. Luis should be paying for it all now via phone. Hopefully the subcontractors will call soon to schedule

Evening all... I was gone most of the evening for the end of the year party for choir. It was nice to go to and just socialize.

I'm not as upset about the estimate as Luis is, but I paid for it, so all is good We are having them put the storm door back on too (and properly) so that's worth it to me!!!

Sherry, I was so proud of myself at Penzeys. I even needed new vanilla too (which was the majority of my spending). I think Nancy needs to come visit here and have a "field trip" there

I'm on the desktop and can I say I'm spoiled? Ed's doing surgery to my power supply. It was broken, and my boss took it apart for me-and Ed went to Da Shack to get a new adapter. In the meantime, here I am on his pc.


So sad about October Beauty. I'm probably going to buy a few of those fundraiser candles.

Penzey's? Need to take a look through my catalog. Then again, I should check at work-they've used Penzey's in the past.

Tiara, I'm afraid I'm finding the pounds I lost. This week has been chaotic, the next two more of the same, and I'm not eating right. Ugh. Ed made sure I had a good salad waiting with my dinner tonight.

Ed and I made mention of bowling the other day-I used to be on a league and took bowling as my college phys ed. I haven't been since '88. Kevin has been bugging us since he heard about it. We went tonight and had a good time. Kevin has the strangest form, but on the second game, he and Ed scored 3 points apart.

My past experience helped-not too shabby! The next lane over were some teens who obviously bowl a lot-turkeys and five baggers. One game they were in the 260's each! Uhhh, I'd need almost two games to get there!

Suppose I should post this. Been IMing with my 'sorta little sister' and need to get cracking!

Good morning, all! Wanted to drop in to say hihowareya, but my week has been much like Suzanne's. Lucky me, I have a corporate visit at the store today. Not enough cooperation from the employees, too many whiney "but I can't work that day" complaints, a manager who thinks the schedule revolves around her, and not enough hours to get things done.

Good news is, I got my stitches out yesterday, knee is healing just fine! I was worried about a muscle cramp on the other side, that I had done something wrong, but it's from the clamp that held my leg while they were working on it. Best of all, they took pictures inside and gave me some!! I can now scrap pictures of my smashed meniscus, the arthritis and the repair work! It's so wierd--the pix look like an underwater scene, cuz there's no blood anywhere. Ya kinda wonder where the fish are and the color is wrong. It's a pinky-yellow instead of blue-green. Fascinating!!

Gotta dash--I need to get there ahead of my District Manager. I'm bringing in samples of projects for this summer's Kid's Camp that I made here at home--where we're not supposed to work So I want to get them to the classroom and get back outside before she arrives!

Morning all! A bit sleepy here! After doing a bunch of heavier yard work, my back wasn't liking me last night. The muscles were just very sore and tired. Made for an interesting nights sleep

I think we should do a Penzey's field trip then!!! I'll admit I got hooked on them when my brother and SIL got me a gift box from them for our wedding. We were very lucky when a store opened up near by... actually only a few miles away from me! So I've been going there and dropping lots of $$$ on them ever since
I admit I am glad I don't have to ship. Otherwise when I run out of things, it'd take far too long to replace. I guess though if I had to order, I'd stay on top of what I needed more often. It's so nice to just run to the store!

Nancy, glad you are getting it all done with the tubs. I'm curious to know that cost, I admit, but probably already am glad we won't be doing that We get our door installation finalized today or tomorrow. The good thing with HD is they use really good subcontractors (several family and friends used them too) the bad thing is since they are subcontractors we have to wait a day at times to get everything finalized. I'm guessing next week our door will come in. And I did check, it is the exact door I posted.

Suzanne, I know what you mean about being spoiled. It's been hard for me to get used to desktop only. Woo hoo for Da Shack... they rock at most times! I'm laughing about the bowling. I think it would take me three games to get that high
Did you know you can get gutter balls with the bumpers up too?
