Ssshhhhhhh.......don't let the word get out, but I am finally all caught up at work!!! For the moment, that is....

Thank you, Caroline!!! We got some snow!!! It didn't start till after I was already here at work and it's already stopped and traffic is snarled everywhere!! The idiot drivers around here are postively pathetic--we've only got just over an inch of snow. Schools are closing early, Rt. 1 is stopped dead both inside and outside the beltway (probably a good 10 miles of road, or more), and the radio is doing traffic reports just about every 10 minutes. You'd think we were in the midst of a record-breaking blizzard!!!

Lily, I keep forgetting to post that I was just amazed at your pictures from the 1/2 marathon!! You did a magnificent job!! And you didn't look ready to drop at the end, either!! What an accomplishment!! No wonder Liz was inspired--I'm feeling it too! I'm thinking I could probably walk that far, but nowhere NEAR that fast!!

Karen, hope you are feeling better and haven't managed to pick up a stomach flu bug. You don't need that on top of what you've been trying so hard to get over! Did you make it to the awards ceremony?

Little vent: I almost yesterday when "boy-genius" boss actually came and turned the heat up higher!!! It's OK for me to be freezing all the time, to keep his precious computers cool, but he gets a little chilled and it's OK to turn up the heat.

Hey everyone,

Managed to make it to the awards ceremony today. After taking three Compazine. LOL thankfully I was still coherent too. Ping got two awards. One was Gold Honor Roll and the second was for coming in second in Math Superstars. I am so proud of him. We think the nausea is being caused by a med the doctor recently put me on. I called him about the nausea and he said it should go away eventually. Im to take Compazine every morning to combat the nausea. Oh happy day. What scares the heck out of me is Im nauseated on 150 mg and today Im supposed to start 300 mg! I just hope it isnt twice as bad. Im almost tempted to try and quit smoking without the help. This weekend is my quit date. I could use all the prayers and pixie dust ya can offer.

Just got back from touring the school we hope to send Ping to next year. Its the international baccalauret (sp) program. Looks like he has a good chance of getting in. He has the grades and FCAT scores to more than make it. Just depends on availability. This program would be so good for him.

Im sorry this is such an EOIP but Im exhausted and I need to get to bed. I will try to catch up in the morning.

Hectic day for me, even before I got into work. Since then I've been wrestling a big storm across the west, but I think I've finally got it pinned. We won't be getting much sleep today as we have to get out to the pet store to get some ferret food, the post office to mail some socks (ask Nancy ), figure out which dive I was in that had the really good pina colada in Ottawa (and convince our friends they want to eat there .. heehee), etc. My parents are ferret-sitting this weekend, so my dad is stopping by on his way home from work to pick up the fuzzers (they are the grandferrets, after all ). Busy busy busy, but it should be a fun weekend.

Ya Ya public service message: Scott just told me it's going to be -23 here tomorrow night (that'd be .. let's see .. - 30F). Everyone from Ohio to the Atlantic, and north of North Carolina better get your woolies out. Friday looks especially bitter around JRKaren's neck of the woods.

Liz, sorry about the misdirected snow. I just wanted to share with as many of my sistahs as possible. No word back from my manager yet re: the new position. I haven't had a day shift on a weekday since I last talked to him, so I guess I'll have to wait to see him in person.

It's 22 degrees here in Boston, with about three inches of snow on the ground. Yuck. Gotta go out and shovel soon before I head into work early again.

As Caroline was so kind to point out, it is supposed to get really cold again tonight--back down into the single digits. I want warmth.

Everyone get those images of me in feather boas and stiletto heels out of your head because it never happened, and never will. And I can't believe that no one asked why I saw Luke Perry in a feather boa and stiletto heels. It's painful for me to talk about you know. It was a life scarring event.

John, good luck dealing with the yucky parking lot at work. I have to admit, I do that same kind of shuffle... one of my biggest fears is falling and somehow after I took an awful spill while skiing, I fear ice more than anything else. Have a hard time ice skating too now. Stay safe out there

Just popping in for a quick hi. My comp is not working. Not to long ago Michael asked his dad (my x) to "upgrade" my comp so he and travis could play World of Warcraft on both of our comps. Well since then I have been having big problems with mine and now it wants me to restore the system but it cant. Im no expert but that doesnt look good to me.
Anyway cant use Michael's comp to much because its upstairs and Connor gets into all their stuff.

So okay...we got about an inch of snow yesterday and people were acting like it was a foot of snow. Some of my coworkers spent over 6 hours trying to get home last night. There's basically NO ONE here in the office today either. Now the fun part is, we're supposed to get more tonight. So I'm already planning to work from home tomorrow.

Looks like snow is the subject of the day....It's a balmy 26 degrees here with about 3 inches of snow from yesterday.

Been behind on my "ketchup" this week - busy work week and internet was down for a full day - horrors!!

Anyway.....let see - I'm on an exchange roll - Bath and Body works mailed and socks ready to go.

Oh - by the way - my DD name is Alyssa - when my DS was little he always called her "Yaya" - and she would yell back at him "I'm not Yaya!!" lol

Don't care how cold it is - there's nothing like a DD iced coffee!!

Actually, Caroline has already arranged for a lovely storm headed our way! Saturday forecast is High of 19º and low of 18º, 2"-4" snow mixed with ice. Should be TONS of fun!!! I'm thinking your snow might be more fun, if you don't get the ice. So MY prediction is a big bowl of hot mulled wine, sipped slowly while snuggled in a down throw or two!

OMG, it's MORE than okay with me!! You can throw cheetos, fritos, tostitos and doritos, too!! After that, you can take him outside and stuff snow down his shirt!! THEN maybe he will understand what it's like to sit in a 63º office day in and day out. Sorry about the frog scare. At least it was just a little guy and not one of those gigantic bullfrog-types! Karen, glad to hear you were able to make it to the award ceremony! That just stinks about the nausea, though. Congrats on trying to quit smoking, too! I think I'd go without the med though, since it's causing such a problem. Did you talk to the doc about a patch or the gum? Is there some reason you can't use either of those?

Deena, I feel for ya with the computer! It was an upgrade from the manufacturer that caused ours to crash completely last spring! Not so sure it's worth it to download upgrades!! Hope you can get yours straightened out so you can come play.
