Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Oh no...dd's friend spent the night and just puked all over the bathroom! I helped her out, of course, but I feel so selfish...is this virus going to hit our family now?! We all just got over something this week...

Takes my mind off of food, that's for sure.

50sjayne - Good idea going to Costco during the superbowl. :thumbsup2 I didn't know that stat about the yogurt, interesting...

Maria - great job planning your daily meals out and working the snacks in. :cheer2:

hhartill - taking snacks in the car is a great idea, I'm going to start having some in. Your poor dd, making the cake for Daddy and he didn't eat it. :guilty:

No SuperBowl party for us this year -- it would just be too depressing. Actually, I don't feel that bad about it. All things considered, my Pats are ok.

We do have a plan, because we love to watch the commercials as well as the game. We made cheese lasagna for dinner, and we have snacks to eat around -- fresh veggies with dip, popcorn, sugar-free jello, and skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. DH is also going to make a tray of nachos, just salsa on chips with lower-fat cheese.

I am also being very careful with my calories until gametime. I had a yogurt for breakfast, and I'll have chicken soup for lunch. I'm still working on this annoying cold, so I might as well eat light and rest. I'm not up to working out yet, I'm hoping for a walk on the TM tomorrow after work, which I cannot miss. Sigh.

Ok, so we've started a new week of working on our weight loss, and I can feel the momentum building. It's Feb. 1, and in my world that's a fresh start! Let's make it a super losing month! :woohoo:

Maria :upsidedow

I like that, Feb 1 new start!

I know it sounds crazy but I sometimes welcome a little stomach flu to jump start my weight loss.

Are you going to a Superbowl Party? Are you going to watch the game?

No party for us this year. I hate football! DH will be banished to the basement to watch the game. I told him to let me know when it's time for whatever the 3-D feature is at half-time. I picked up some free 3-D glasses at the grocery store that said to tune in at the end of the 2nd quarter, so I'll check that out, but not the game itself.

It's nice out today. Well, 38 is nice compared to what it's been lately, and it's even warmer than it was several days ago when were at WDW, so I'm going to take the dog for a walk.

DH is building a new grill today that we got on clearance at the end of the season last year. He grilled pork chops a couple days ago, and I told him I thought I had some pieces of the grate on my meat, so he has to get the new one built before dinner!

Hello All! Happy February! This is going to be an GREAT losing month for all of us! I can feel it!

So far, a good weekend for me - I've done 18 miles on my exercise bike in the last 4 days - that's an amazing feat for me considering I think that's the first time in my life that I've exercised 4 days in a row on PURPOSE! :thumbsup2 I just hope to see some movement on the scale for my WW WI tomorrow. But if not, just keep swimming, right?

I wanted to say THANKS to whoever posted the Grilled Skillet burritos recipe a ways back! I made up that recipe for our SuperBowl dinner tonight, but made them as quesadillas instead of burritos - they were freakin' AWESOME! My DH and DS LOVED them! So thank you for a healthy and very tasty dinner! I was kinda worried about what to make for the game, and then remembered that I saved that recipe. We usually have all kinda of crap for the Superbowl, but I got rave reviews tonight for a healthy meal. I will definitely be making that again!

It's a new week and a new month! Good luck everyone! We can do this!!! Stay strong!

Dona,

How in the world did you get
a squirrel in your bedroom?????

I am not a smilie girls but this calls for

:confused3 :sad2:  :scared1: :scared: :scratchin :faint: :squirrel:

Did I miss something???

Hi, everyone! Hope those of you watching the Superbowl are enjoying yourselves! :goodvibes DH and I don't do sports, so no Superbowl for us. We've just been hanging out doing as little as possible instead :thumbsup2

I gained a bit this week. I'm still down more than when we started, but up the last two weeks.

That is ok though because... I'm pregnant! I saw the doctor on Thursday and am 8 weeks. I've known since the beginning of the month. I'm still trying to eat healthily and get in as much exercise as I can tolerate. This week was pretty bad though because I was having a bit of "morning" sickness, so I ate whatever whenever I could. Plus, I only exercised once cause I just didn't feel up to it.

Anyway, I am going to continue to try to keep up with this thread and work toward doing the COW better. I am going to drop out of the weigh ins though because I will more likely gain than lose and I don't like bringing the numbers down for everyone else.

I'm a little disappointed in myself for not having lost more before becoming pregnant, and actually gaining a good bit Right before. BUT, I'm totally excited about being pregnant no matter what size I am :cool1:

I wish everyone the best of luck with this challenge and I will still be around posting occasionally and cheering you all on!!:cheer2:

Amber, Thanks for sharing your great news. I am so happy for you and your husband. Is this your first? I don't expect to hear from you every Friday from now on unless you'd like. Please stick around and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Can you guide me to the yummy recipe? Sounds wonderful. Don't know how the heck I missed a burrito recipe. Love them.

Thanks,

I don't think my ticker changed but my weight did. Gotta figure this thing out! It's been a REALLY hard week, I was helping my mom move to a new place in Kissimmee, so that she'll be much closer to me. She had been living in Bradenton, but her health isn't so good, so she's made the VERY difficult decision to move closer. She really didn't want to, but she realizes it is for the best for both of us. I have to give her a big cheer :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: for trying! I had a hard time dealing with all the problems, since she can't seem to get her act together to organize anything.

But this week will be back to the exercise routine for me
!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: Here I am doing jumping jacks!

Question of the Day
What is your biggest obstacle to staying healthy on the weekend?

Running around doing things. Between kids swimming lessons and home renovations, I run out of energy to prepare proper meals. But since starting this, I've been doing better on weekends, and I figure the high activity helps balance out the not perfect eating. During the week, I take salad and a frozen WW or Lean Quisine stirfry type meal, which works great. Unfortunately that doesn't work to feed the whole family on the weekends.

Question of the day
Are you going to a SUper Bowl Party? Are you going to watch the game?

DH and his buddy are watching the game. Usually I watch the commercials and half-time and don't pay attention to the game. But we're up in small-town Canada, and this year we didn't get the American commercials :sad2: We used to laugh at our relatives an hour north of us, because they haven't got the commercials for a few years (they're in a bigger centre).

hhartill - I don't like the Atkin's diet, its too extreme. My stepdad did it for a year, and lost a ton of weight, but it was too hard on his liver and he had to get off. As soon as he quit he gained the weight back, because he hadn't changed his basic eating habits. And I think its sad that your DH didn't eat his birthday cake. :sad1:

Jennz - I hope your family doesn't end up sick. And my first thought would have been "oh crap, I hope we don't get it" so I guess I'm selfish too. ;)

Foxfiregrrl - CONGRATULATIONS!

Question of the Day
What is your biggest obstacle to staying healthy on the weekend?

My biggest obstacle is the fact that I work w/e 7pm-7am. The cafeteria closes everything but the grill after 6, and salad is $0.59 per ounce.
The biggest struggle is getting up 30 minutes or so earlier to pack my lunch when i want that 30 mins of sleep soooooo badly!!!

Good Monday Morning Everyone

Sorry I didn't get back on. I was at the high school from 11 to 5:30 with costumes. The choreographer did not show up so the director was mad and then he takes it out on the costume/set guy. The costume guy and I were amazed at how much work was done by the mom's who came in. We have a lot to do in just a short amount of time. WE have less than 4 weeks until we open. The hard part about yesterday was that we wanted to fit some dresses so that he can make some other dresses for the girls to wear and we counldn't get to some of the girls until 5.

That is something we are trying to figure out ourselves. When you live in ann old house (ours is about 100 years old)anything is possible.

Congrats. I am glad that you are sticking around for the COW's they should help you to keep on track with healthy habits that will take you far beyond your pregnancy.

As someone else said we are at a new month. If you have been not been into this completely now is the time. We have about 8 weeks until the end of this challenge. Now is the time to recommit ourselves.

HAve a great day everyone. I have exams today so I have a lot of paperwork to do to get ready for grades that are due next week.

Oh no...dd's friend spent the night and just puked all over the bathroom! I helped her out, of course, but I feel so selfish...is this virus going to hit our family now?! We all just got over something this week...

Hope it doesn't take hold on your family...I personally don't think that is being selfish though.

That is ok though because... I'm pregnant!
Congratulations to you and your DH...glad you are still going to hang around with us too.

Congratulations! That is so exciting for you. Babies are amazing, and now you can start planning his or hers first disney trip.

Questions of the Day
What is your favorite fruit to eat?
What is your favorite veggie to eat?
My favorite fruits are berries- strawberries and blueberries. They are sooo good right now too.
Favorite vegie is winter squash, but broccoli and zucchini are close behind. I tend to eat them the most.

Dona, hope that squirrel is gone. That would freak me out, and I probably go to a hotel.

I way overate all weekend, though I did keep track, and my ww week starts saturday and I've used up all of my flex points and 5 of the 8 activity points I earned over the weekend. Now if I can stay in control through the week, I should be able to minimize the damage. That is one good thing about going to work, I've got my healthy lunch and snack packed, and that's all I'll eat there.

Have a losing day!

That is ok though because... I'm pregnant!
Congratulations, Amber. Maybe you can be around for BL and be the weekly winner in several months :rotfl2: Stay healthy!
Questions of the Day
What is your favorite fruit to eat?
What is your favorite veggie to eat?
Fruit-a banana a day, but I love: raspberries, strawberries, clementines, kiwi, pineapple . . . . I guess you could say I love my fruit! (a really good reason for me to never go on Atkins!)
Veggies-carrots, green/red/yellow/orange peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, cabbage. . .mostly raw. Have a great day, everyone. And may your skies be gray so that that darned groundhog DOESN'T see his shadow. (from someone who is sick of winter and the cold :cold: !)

Questions of the Day
What is your favorite fruit to eat?
What is your favorite veggie to eat?

My favorite fruit is apples, especially fuji. I think it's because when I was little that was about the only fruit I would eat.

My favorite vegetable to eat is the good old carrott.

I actually like lots of fruits and vegetables now, especially fresh ones from the local farmer's market. But I still don't eat them as much as I should. The COW is helping with that, although, lately I think that I am mostly hanging on to the COWs tail and being dragged around but I was travelling and let that be an excuse to not follow my good new habits.

Here, Bossy! I'm getting back on the COW now . . .

Foxfiregrrl, congratulations! That is awesome news!:goodvibes

Today starts the official part of the BL competition at DH's work. I've already met with the fitness trainer and dietician, 1/2 hour of exercise in, so I am at 40 1/2 points!:cool1: WISH me luck!
