Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Good morning everyone.

Eating is hard this week since we are midterm mode. You can't eat at your normal time. YOur entire schedule is off. Yesterday we went out for lunch. SOmething we never do since we only have 20 minutes for lunch. So what I usually eat for lunch I ate for dinner.

I have been slipping with my exercise. I was pretty consistent last week but I have not been working out as much as I should. IF it wasn't for the COW I wouldn't get any steps in.

How is everyone doing with the COW? AS there are more and more steps to it you might want to make yourself a chart for the week. That has helped me a great deal when we were doing the COW's in the past. I just made up my chart for this week yesterday becasue I felt I needed it to help me keep track.

Question of the Day
What are your vacation plans for this year?
Are you planning any big trips?

We had a big vacation last year so I hope you guys can come up with some good plans so I can get excited for someone, anyone who is going away. My ds1 may be going to SPain in March to visit his girlfriend. He just got the approval from his boss that he can take the week off but now he needs to find a hotel and plane.

Have a great day everyone.

Yes--we are going to Disneyland at the end of March. Haven't been for 10 years so we are very excited! There wasn't even CA Adventures last time we were there. doing pretty well with COWS except for the veggies- but I am definitely eating a lot more than usual. The pool was closed all weekend due to a big swim meet for the highschools so I went last night--jeez was it crowded...didn't swim but sat in the jacuzzi for about 45 minutes which limbered me up enough to do my back exercises later.

Question of the Day

My mother and I are going to Spain and Portugal in May!:thumbsup2 Two weeks!

I also am going to WDW for the Princess Half! I am spending a week, but I have to work during the day Mon- Fri. (I work out of my home so I decided I could use my DVC points and work out of SSR when I found a $117 airfare LOL!) I think this is the longest I have stayed on site ever! 7 nights! Generally I do short trips!

Sunday night and yesterday weren't really pretty.

I tend to be "bad" when I fly and yesterday was not good LOL! However, I am back on track and did only have dry salad for dinner so that probably helped. Plus whatever the boyfriend cooked Sunday was not healthy, but it was good!

Will have to try out the new hotel's treadmill tonight for my workout!

hello my fellow losers.

Boy have I fallen off the wagon. So much so that I've had to make a mad dash to catch up and jump back on. And back on is now where I am. I'm not going to revisit the bump in the road that knocked me off. I am just going to focus on TODAY, as yesterday is now part of my past and tomorrow is still yet to come. So it is for me about--right now--today--.

I have not read the thread in quite a few days. I'm going to go back and see whats up with the QOTD.

:cheer2: to those who are still firmly seated on the wagon and :grouphug: to those who are just hanging on.

We don't have anything big planned this year. 08 was a biggie for us. We did the 15 WB Panama cruise on the Magic. Our first ever vacation that was more the 1 week.

So this year will be long weekend trips. We are doing a long weekend this month to DL for DH birthday. and plan on meeting up with a couple from our panama cruise too.

April brings a long weekend with our BFF's in Laughlin. We also met them on our cruise.

And then a week long fishing trip to the eastern Sierras in Oct. June Lake area to be specific.

I do also have a 7 day western booked on DCL in Dec, but will most likely move once 2011 dates come out hopfully in the fall.

My COW is going well, yesterday I ran 4 miles and worked (as a waitress) for 5 hours so that helps. Today I ran 4.5 miles but am not going to work tonight, bad weather, my boss told me I had the night off.

Vacation plans will be WDW in Oct, Nov or Dec. We are doing the Dave Ramsey thing and SHOULD be out of debt by then...you know how the best laid plans of mice & men go!

Side note - April '10 will be our 10th anniversary and I have dropped a hint a day for the last 5 years that I would like to go to Hawaii for our 10th....we'll see!

I am praying that DH's job is fine, if it continues to be so, then we are going to California!!!:cool1: I am in the middle of planning it now. We will go to Sequoia National forest and go horseback riding in the mountains, and then we will go to Disneyland for 3 days, universal for 1 and a beach day for another. I can't wait!
[COLOR]

We went to Calif for our honeymoon 31 years ago (was it realy that long ago) and went to Sequoia. It was beautiful. We only did Disney that time in 1 day but we also did Knott's Berry Farm and drove up to SF to finish the trip.

My mother and I are going to Spain and Portugal in May!:thumbsup2 Two weeks!

My ds is possibly going to Spain in March to visit his gf.
I haven't stayed at SSR but did the BW with my sister 3 years ago.

SOunds like you are going to be busy. My sister wanted to do the Panama cruise but didn't reserve in time.

I was wondering where you are in the Leigh Valley? I have relatives in northeast pa (Wilkes Barre, Kingston, MOuntain Top)

ONly one more day of exams and then all the paper work. I like to grade all my papers for the same type of class at the same time so I have a lot of grading to do tomorrow but I have a week until grades are due. I spent the morning cleaning out file cabinets. I found exams from 4 years ago. I am then shredding things for security reasons (we use the same exam for a few years in a row) MY desk looks a mess but some of the drawers are cleaned out for the first time in years.

It is snowing here in jersey and no one can tell us how much snow we are going to get when it is all said and done. WE have a couple of inches already. I just put the dog out so I better get her in before she gets too cold. SHe is such a wimp but what do you expect for a 8 month old puppy.

Have a great evening everyone. BL is on tonight. I hope that I can stay up until the end. The last 3 shows I fell asleep about 9:30 and missed the end of the weigh in and the send off.

Hi everyone,
Hey, Lucky's mom, you and I have a lot in common! I am from PA, have a DS16 and a DS12 and I was wondering the same thing about the BL post. I'm hoping to make the list this time.

I keep having this thought with this whole weight loss thing. It's so obvious, but if I say it to myself, it really hits me.

If I give up, I will always be unhappy, uncomfortable and unhealthy. If I keep thinking that, I should always keep trying, right? I have to think about that!

Hear Ye Hear Ye, the Weightkeeper speaks

4 weeks gone. We are 1/3 of the way through the challenge. How are you doing? Our participants are dropping and so is the number of pounds we are losing. Each week you never know what numbers it will take to be a superstar. Just work hard and hopefully your week will come.

Now we will look at the week 4 stats

beginning participants--128
new members------------1
removed----------------18
current participants----113
excused-----------------2
not reporting 1 week----13
not reporting 2 week----11
weigh ins---------------87
gains---(29.5 lbs)-------19
maintains---------------13
losses---(113.9)--------55

Wish Biggest Loser 7 Week 4
week 3 late losses 9.2 pounds
weekly net loss 84.4 pounds
less losses from those removed from challenge 45 pounds
Cumulative net loss 594.3 pounds
week 4 average percentage of weight lost 0.48%

Before the weekly superstar list come the disclaimers.

**I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference the magic percentage of weight lost formula is (weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week) times 100.

**If you miss a week and return with a loss your percentage is adjusted to reflect missing one week.

**If you gain and then post a loss your percentage is adjusted. If your loss is less than last week's gain then you are not named a superstar because you are still working to lose the gain.

Congratulations to our week 4 superstars. As I said our percentages are shrinking. Could you be a superstar this week?

Have a healthy day.

Congratulations everyone!!

I thought i emailed my loss but I don't think I did. Things were crazy, was out of town and when we got back Sat., my daughter had a winter formal.

I haven't dropped out though and lost 2.5 pounds last week so a total of 10.5 pounds since the beginng. I'm feeling so much better and made it on the treadmill for 4 miles today.

I hope I end up having an ok week.

To Dona.... I haven't read through all of the posts that I missed out on , but I think you were the one with the squirrel in the house. Hope you got him. haha. We got a bat in our house not long after we moved here. I was sitting at the computer and kept feeling like something was going behind me. Then, my daughter saw it and I took off to the bedroom with the kids while my husband got it out. According to my husband , there is only one bat in the house now.......

Just quickly checking in...getting in my veggies is so hard for me but I did make broccoli tonight because of the COW! I still only had 2 veggies today but that's better than 0.

Huge congrats to Carla Rae! :cheer2:

Harleymom - you said you're dh was having surgery (you have been on my mind) how is he doing??

Vija - keep spreading the word and you'll have a trip to WDW paid for! pirate:

Favorite fruits are strawberries and pineapple, veggies...mushrooms and broc.

Trips...we want to do one to WDW but I'm not sure, trying to get a j-o-b and might have training sometime this summer. Am going to Orlando in 2 weeks to help out my parents and will be down there a few weeks this summer, but that doesn't really count. :)

COTD:
We are going to WDW May 8-16!!!
We will go to Gatlinburg, TN the first w/e in April, and the 2nd w/e in November, and we will go to North Myrle Beach, SC the 2nd week of August!

Congrat's to everyone who is rocking right now :)

I've got two day's that have been great now that I dragged myself back onto that wagon. I'm still at a loss from the start, and I'm working to get back to where I was. It won't take long.

I am worried about this weekend though. Two competitions this weekend. One at a University outside Philadelphia and another one at our High School. The one on Sunday at our HS is one we are working (not our competition- but our girls are making money towards Nationals by setting up, doing the snack stand, and doing 50/50 tickets and breakdown). I'll be busy most of the day on Sunday.

It's the last competition that caused me to fall of the wagon in the first place. I know I have to plan ahead, I'm just scared about falling off. I think I won't HAVE to work the snack stand till it starts, and I think I heard 12pm. So this would allow me to eat before I go, but then again - I'm not sure what time I have to have DD there.

I'll just try to take it one hour and one day at a time. I'll also make sure I start with a good breakfast, I didn't get to eat a good one when I fell off the wagon, and I think that made a difference.

I can do this. I gotta get back to where I was and get on the losing side again.

My food the past two days has been stellar. Not one bad, processed, unhealthy thing has crossed my lips. Nothing, but whole natural clean foods. YEAH! And I feel I have a little more energy.

Congratulations Carla Rae and all the other losers! pixiedust:

I was so excited to see my name on the list. Now I need to work hard to see if I can do it again!

Question of the Day
What are your vacation plans for this year?
Are you planning any big trips?

This year so far we have the following planned:

3/20-3/24 - DD and I are going to WDW for National Cheer competition
6/19-6/22 - Most likely Boston, or maybe DC for anniversary
8/6-8/24 - 17 nights in at POP Century

9/2- 9/8 - Vegas

and sometime next fall we will go to Columbia Missouri with DD to check out the University of Missouri.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes! I am really excited and loving every minute, even the sort of pukish feeling ones :thumbsup2

I have not been doing very well at the COW but am working on doing better. I think that a chart would be very helpful, so I'll set one up tomorrow. My exercise has been nonexistent and my pedometer is crap so I haven't even been tracking my walking. I am considering getting one of those Omron ones that you guys have mentioned. I do great with my water. The past two days I've gotten 2 + fruits in. Veggies have been much harder. I am pretty sure I got 3 in yesterday, but today was more like 1.5

QOTD: We don't really have any vacations planned for this year yet. I definitely want to get something in before the baby is born though. Last year we splurged a bit on vacations and ended up taking 3 different week long ones :cool1: We went to Vegas, my parent's beach house, and Disney. So, if we don't do much this year it will be fine really. I think DH is just thinking that we should go to my parent's beach house because it is practically free (except for all the eating out we do), but I'm trying to come up with something a little different that we could do instead. I don't want to spend a lot of money though.

My favorite fruit is gala apples.
My favorite veggie would be butter beans and potatoes... but non starchy veggie would probably be broccoli and/or cauliflower

Oh, and I've been to Disney 6 times. I can't wait to go with our children though!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: CONGRATULATIONS TO THIS WEEK'S SUPERSTARS!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Keep up the good work everyone!! Even those of you who gained or maintained are still doing good work because you are still here giving it your best shot!!:cheer2:

Have a great losing week!
