Hi everyone I am here now. We have never been here before so we are very excited. We are here until Sunday then off to Daytona then over to Disney for 8 days at the Poly.
Having never been here you have all been a great source of information. It is beautiful. We are on the 6th floor west wing. At first I wasn't sure if I liked the room, not a great view, but it seems to be close to both pools and the lounge. We went over to City Walk for dinner at the Hard Rock, very good. I think tomorrow we will hit the pools and get some sun. Our kids are flying down on Friday, we will probably go to one of the parks on Saturday. Can't wait to see their faces!
Thank you all.

I'll be there in a few weeks, can't wait! Do you like the room now? Is the bathroom as big as I have heard?

Yes I like the room. It is nice, I guess I don't need the view, I think the closeness to everything else is more important. The room itself is large, 2qns and a table, I am happy we also have a pull out couch, that will be great for my kids.
The bathroom is Huge! I love the 2 sinks and the storage space under them. The shower is all glass and the then there is a tub.
We have been to Disney well over 30 times, we are very familiar with everything there. This is so nice I can see us coming back. I love the mouse but......

As many like to say here on the Universal boards, :welcome: to the darkside.

Keep us updated, on both the good and the not so good!

The mouse will feel even less appealing once you and the kids experience FOTL at the parks. I just hope the kids aren't too down on WDW after being able to bypass those pesky, endless, hot, summer season lines.

Thanks everyone. Day 2, time to hit the pool. They look like fun.
I have to say this resort is GINORMOUS and beautiful!
One question can you purchase the Italian CD that is in your room? When we were driving here we stopped at the Lowes Vanderbilt in Nashville and they had several CDs in the room for purchase.
Lynn from IL.:thumbsup2

That's likely your LoewsFirst amenity or welcome gift. They have left them twice for us and we take them.

This resort is better very close to Disney. We have stayed Contemporary Concierge and Polynesian Concierge the old Fairway Villas and Campers and have loved them all. There are things here that are nicer than Disney, such as the bathrooms at the pool, here they are glamorous. The pools here are awesome and I love that you can order food and drinks. The stores are very nice here I like Disney's better. Boy I am so loving it here yet excited to go to the Poly. We have stayed at the CR the last couple of years and switched it up, our kids were not happy. They also didn't want to come here, wait until they see this. I don't think we have scheduled enough time here so I guess we will have to come back. Have'nt even been to the parks yet.
We are staying club this time.

Sounds fantastic, lucky you - enjoy!

Wait until your kids discover the FOTL perc;)

Wow, it sounds awesome, have a great time!

You're in Club right? if so can you tell me about the food you've had? are there water bottles to take to the park? Thanks

This is such a wonderful hotel. I loved it! I can't believe how big it was!

Cass, Otown all I can say is (in Janice from Friends voice) OH MY GOSH! I love it here.
Cass you asked about the food, for breakfast we had cereal, fruit like melons and strawberries, apples. Bagels and crossaints different kinds of sweet rolls. Today I also had oatmeal. My husband says to tell everyone that the bagels go fast, we went around 9:45 this morning. We never have gone later morning. Early afternoon was lemonade and Italian Ice tubes. Then early evening yesterday was olives, green and black, a pasta mix, cous cous(SP), thin salami and another meat, potstickers, an assortment of crackers, and a large plate of cheese. Red and white wines, Bud light, regular Bud and Peroni beer, I think there may have been at least one other brand of beer. My favorite is the cookies and milk at night, canolis, tiramisue (sp), biscottis, chocolate chip and sugar cookies. Oh I forgot today for the early evening snack they had fried mac and cheese, that looked like a potato cakes, and a rice. My hubby loves that they have small glass bottles of coke products. Yes they also have single bottles of water for you to take. There are also 2 computers for your use. The singers at night are fun to watch too.

Wow that sounds great, thanks so much... I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay :)

If you have club access the CD is yours as a gift from the hotel.

Thanks for the answer. I actually think the CD may be skipping so I will ask, also there is no CD case.

Thanks..We are Disneyholics and decided to try a change of scenery this year..After PBH we are off to BW..I can't wait to have fotl access at every ride!

Hi everyone just a few quick thoughts on our first stay at PBH.
As I have said the resort is beautiful, the best we have ever stayed. We have stayed at Disney resorts since 1977, and this was better. We stayed club level which is still new for us just the last 3 years so that part is very nice. The food offerings were very nice. The staff of young adults in the lounge were excellent. They seemed to be on top of everything and very friendly. We spent a lot of time at the pools and that was fun, especially the cold towels offered. We did love the FOTL pass at Universal Studios. We were able to get on quite a few rides in a short time. We have been to Universal California in 1982, so a lot has changed since then! Now comparing Disney parks and Universal,I still prefer Disney. I would sure go back to Universal again.
The only complaint we have is housekepping. We arrived on Wednesday and everything was fine, the next couple of days everyday we had a problem.
On Thursday we slept in and housekeeping came we asked if they could come back in an hour. So we got up went to breakfast went to the pool. When we got back to the room around 4pm the room had not been cleaned. We called and they came then. Then that evening Thursday we called and explained that our kids were coming on Friday so between 9am and noon could our room be cleaned, well we got back at 12:30 and it is not cleaned. We called and then they came and cleaned. Saturday we leave the room at 9:30 we are at the pools until 4:30 and the room had not been cleaned. Well now we are not happy at all. My husband called and spoke with the manager of housekeeping Evan. He was very sorry, he sent us another fruit tray. Then we told him we had been at the park all day and we were all going to shower and rest, we had housekeeping come 3 times in an hour and each time we wsaid not now we were all showering. When we left our room at 6pm we called and our room was cleaned by 7:30. This is all just a small wrinkle in our trip but none the less we will remember. I did expect a little better service since everything elase was just about perfect.
Now we are in Daytona for 2 days then off to Disney's Poly club level.

One other thing I asked about the Italian CD and they were all gone. They took our name and said they would mail one to us when they get more. So I am hoping we'll see.
