I have my first 6 hour event this weekend. Some spiderman thing with fiber one bars and trix yogurt, got my box early this week and it was HEAVY full of stuff, hope its not too boring cuz wow 6hours is a LONG time when you are bored!!!..lol..at least its a longer break hopefully i can leae the store and eat since its a shopping strip i hope theres something to eat righ ton the corner.

brivers222 The instructions stated to just stay and promote while passing out brochures if there was no product to sample. Boring. Otherwise I would not have wasted 45 minutes of my time looking for those darn candy bars! I was just following the "What To Do If: Product Issues" on the Hershey's Event Instructions.

Yeah, sorry... I just realized that. I was looking at another event instructions. This Hershey's event (my third and final one is today) is very annoying.... NONE of the K-marts have a home from them on the shelves. I have to get a telxon and have them look to see about quantites and then wait 30mins while they go in the back to try to uncover them. Ugh, I wish the communication between MC and the stores a little bit more on the ball. They ALWAYS seemed shocked they are having demos in the store. :confused3

I got that event on Saturday... I booked it as an offdate. Daniel wrote me saying the kit would arrive in time and now he is saying it was delivered to the original EP and he is trying to get them to deliver it to the store so I can do my event. I really HATE that in the MC guidelines it says it is the EP's responsibilty to get the kit to the store if they cancel the event... yet this is NEVER enforced. If I drive 45mins just to find out the darn kit isn't there I am going to be UBER mad... especially for only $28! Instructions are conflicting because they say KIT is needed or do a $.75 clock out.... then under "what to bring" it says MC TABLE (IF KIT CAN NOT BE LOCATED).

I told Daniel that apart from the displays and coupons (which we hardly get for events anyways) I have all the rest of the stuff and would really like to do the event since I am driving so far.... We shall see what he says!

Done with Coppertone....well until June anyway. :goodvibes Today they said I could set up anywhere in Apparel, so I picked right in the front when you walk in the store. It kept me busier than any other location I've had so far, but people still either say they don't have kids...or don't even want to make eye contact with you. Second store with not alot of product. Missing some of the types we were supposed to promote & no waterbabies again. :confused3 Either I really counted wrong or I really did sell 17 cans of spray & 1 Splasher. That's the most so far for me by a long shot. Someone remind me again next time how much I hate HBA & cleaning demos. lol

Tomorrow its Snyders multi-grain snacks. I'm off this weekend so we can go to Cape Cod to visit parents for Mothers Day. Then I work again next Thurs, Sat & Sun.

I know exactly what you mean, I love the walmart events cuz for the most part they ship to my house, and the kmart i always do is pretty good at ALWAYS having my kit (except once and i didnt push cuz i relay wanted to go home..lol). But yeah honestly you could probably do the event with nothing but supplies. After all if people rlaly like it they buy it with or without coupons.

I'll tell you briefly what is in the kit , altho i didnt really get into it but i opened up the box cuz it was so heavy. There is a table (duh!..lol) but it looks like it sets up differently or there a cardboard thing in the front, either way its a table, theres the cardboard cutouts advertising the product. There is a pack of coupons for fiberone and a pck of coupons for the trix yogurt. The rest of the box is FULL of spoons, napkins, cups and what not, jsut basic supplies. I dont see why if youwent and the kit wasnt there you couldnt demo the product especially since you are driving so far and its 6 hour so major $$, and for me i have that extra $10 so i was really hoping my kit would come.

Splsh: glad you are done with coppertone, have a great weekend, you sure deserve some time off, it seems that every time i see a post by you lately you are working that day!!...lol

LOL....me again. Packing for Synders of Hanover snacks tomorrow at Walmart. It doesn't mention hat OR bouffant. Nothing. We obviously need one, right? I know stupid question coming from me, but I guess I'm trying to get out of wearing the shower cap. ;)

Off to go pay some bills. I think this month alone I made enough to pay the mortgage on my own without DH's salary. :rotfl2:

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
Off dates are up for 5/12 Coppertone events. Yup, I'm hopelessly addicted. I booked one for Wed 5/16. SMACK ME!!

ELECTRIC SKILLETS.

How much does one cost?
I've seen 1 event in 1 year calling for an electric skillet. Maybe its because I wasn't looking at WM Supercenters until late last year. Are events common or rare for these? Worth buying one?

Splash Mtn- You are probably looking at $30 and up for an electric skillet. I have two of these a non stick and a stainless steel. The stainless steel one is much nicer so I am guessing it was over $50 (it was a gift)

Funny I also noticed no bouffant or hat for the Snyders event tomorrow. I think I am going to just wear my hat and take my bouffant and if anyone says anything I will wear it (doubtful, most of the time I am at Wal-mart no one seems to care what I do).

I wish we would have some off-dates for anything here, they seem to be very few and far between in this neck of the woods. I would love to book some things during the week.:happytv:

I just finished 4 Coppertone events in 1 week....and NOW there is online training & a product quiz available. Gee.....wouldn't that have been helpful before?

Okey dokey SPI experts, what is the SNAG Golf Game and do I want to sign up for it?? Thanks for any info you might have!

Also, help me make a decision...

I am contemplating making this my only job, doing it on both weekend days. Many of us have been doing it for almost a year now (and some over) and what do you think? I figured out that I need to make 450.00 a month, which I should be able to do. I would lose weekends with my family, but it would keep DS out of daycare his Kindergarten year. The work has been pretty consistant, except Christmas season, which looking back, I only missed out on 3 weeks work, which I could overcome selling on EBAY or something. Well? It is pretty stable, right?

KMart has a 12" electric skillet in their ad this week for $24.99. Kohls also has one for $24.99. I know Kohls is having a night owl (Fri.) & early bird (Sat) sale this weekend, so you might get it for even less. I know I saw one advertised somewhere the past couple of weeks for $19.99. My MIL had 4 sitting in her basement so I have a "long term loan" on one. I'm going to try it out this weekend with the Betty Crocker skillet potatoes I'm doing on the 24th. to make sure it still works.

Still nothing here after 5/24. Hope something pops up for June soon.

I'm still not showing ANYTHING after June 2nd within 80 miles of me! WTH is up with that?

Im booked for May, and June 2nd- but hello.....wheres JUNE????

Anyone else?

Brandy

I have four events booked for June- 6/2 Coppertone, 6/16 snag golf, 6/21 lifestyle salads and 6/23 coppertone Hopefully more will open up.

What is up with the training and test for coppertone?! Oh brother do we have to do this?

I saw that... I have one for this Sunday & just stumbled upon it... but when I tried launching it I got an error message:confused3

I've got one on 6/2 & one on 6/16, nothing after that. I'm not too upset about it though.. I leave for WDW on 6/29, I need to get things together & I don't want to book myself solid (and if they are available... I will!!!)

another no june here, the most i did was something for th 16th, some sample table thing other wise the only other june thing that has shown up is for the weekday, I have had no coppertones in june show up and im hoping more stuff will cuz i have kept real busy in may and with a disney trip the first w/e in june i need more $$$...lol

I just booked 6/2 yesterday. It seems June is slow in opening up I figure next week more will open up.:thumbsup2 I think they are slow in putting up new events since there is still May events unbooked. That's just my theory.

Ugh. I woke up with really bad archilles tendon pain behind my ankle. :sad2: I only get this at WDW after too many days of walking. This is a first at home. Guess I need to rest after today. I did use my mat yesterday, but I guess the 3 events this week that I didn't use it on must have done me in.

Getting old sucks. ;)

What if you end up with a lot of competition and have trouble getting jobs? That's the only thing I would worry about.
