Good morning! Can I ask a favor? To all my friends here who believe in the power of prayer, can I get you all to offer up a quick prayer for the people of Greensburg, KS (100 miles west of where I live).
It's been all over CNN and the other networks but in case you've been busy doing events, 95% of the town was destroyed by a tornado Friday night!
It's very, very sad. I keep thinking of the seniors who were to graduate soon and they have no school. Only things left standing were city hall with major roof damage and a grain elevator!
Please if you have a minute pray that their heartache might be eased as much as possible!

Topeka and Salina schools are closed, and there have been homes evacuated and water rescues in Topeka, according to the radio this morning. We are fine where we are, our school is open, but it's made me think of Greensburg.

We had SO much rain! I did not sleep at all last night with all the heavy rain hitting my window, thunder etc.....I saw that Salina/Abilene/Chapman etc are all closed today! We're good here just flooded areas but all schools are open! My heart just breaks for the Greensburg people......knowing that what was left is probably ruined now with all the storms over the weekend!

Good morning everyone! My first ever event is now over & done with (Coppertone & Splashers). It went well although I only sold one package of splashers and I have no idea how the coppertone went since there were so many "thousands" of bottles all over the store. I had very few people who actually sprayed the coppertone on but those who did really liked it. I only had 5 of the splashers left over (and I too was giving away 2 at a time during the last hour). The WM store manager was awesome - she stopped by several times throughout the day just to chat & to let me know when the traffic flow would pick up. Overall, it was good.

Here is my story of the day.....I asked a dad if his 4 or 5 y.o. son could have a sticker. He said yes & I handed it to the little boy. The little boy then says..very fast with little breathing..."thanks, I got a sticker once while I was at the hospital. My ears hurt really bad. My dad wasn't there. My mom said she called my dad but my dad said she didn't call. My mom said my dad didn't come because he was too drunk. My dad said he wasn't drunk."
The dad quickly grabbed the little boys hand & walked away.
If the dad really was too drunk to go...I say..Paybacks are he**!

My one day off this week is today. I've got some yardwork to do. So, should I use some Coppertone from tomorrows kit OR just show up at my next 3 Coppertone events with a nice sunburn?

Oh, and that house I found on the way home yesterday. $449,900 for a 1900 sq ft ranch with 2 bedroom & 2.5 baths & 2 car garage. Brand new & only includes a dishwasher. Sorry, too rich for our blood. You gotta LOVE Massachusetts prices. It would have been nice to reduce DH's commute from 30 miles to 3 miles though.

Hey, and the Coppertone was 7.87 at Walmart.....9.87 at Kmart.

I had my first "interesting" event yesterday. I did Hershey's at K-mart (which was my longest drive yet, 30 miles.) I was worried they wouldn't have my box, but they didn't have any of the candy bars or pouches I needed. So I spent 45 minutes with the manager while she looked. It was getting late so I though I better just set up and promote by handing out the brouchers. I made a 1 item swipe in purchase at 11:13. Then a half hour later the manager comes rolling up this large steel cart with 2 huge Hershey boxes, stops in front of me and said "Is this what you need?" I said "YES!, THANKS!" and he walks away! So, then I went and bought the candy bars I needed and was stuck putting together this huge cardboard Hershey's display and stocking the candy on the shelves myself!! Then I had to roll this huge steel cart across the floor back to the stock room to get it out of my way! I felt I should be wearing a K-Mart shirt instead of the Mass Connections attire! Oh well at least I had candy bars to sample. I just hope I don't have any problems because I had two swipe in reciepts!

HotMama, yes, there's been times I've "worked" for Target too. Sometimes I think they think we are vendors. I just roll with it.

I just got back from the post office because I wanted my envelope weighed. But they were closed for lunch. I mailed it anyway with 1 stamp. It had 3 sheets of paper & 4 receipts. Do you think that will be ok with 1 stamp?

I only put one stamp on mine and it has the same contents. I didn't know Post Offices still closed for lunch. It's a shame the house was out of your budget. In my area, $449,000 would get you a new 2800-3000 SF 4 bedroom home in a nice area. And after you mentioned it, I checked my brown Hershey box and it does have a Promoworks label on it.

HotMama - Did you make a note on your report form about the two purchases? Anything I think they might question, I make a note on the form to explain. Your day reminds me of my first time to KMart. I was in the back stock room all by myself looking for the product.

kpauley-- I put a post it on the receipt....should I actually write it on the form? Where do you make notes on the form, the bottom? up near the stapled receipts?

I makes notes in the 3-4in. blank space under my signature. One time my MC debit card wouldn't work when the WM cashier messed up the transaction and I had to use my VISA and on two other occasions, Target didn't have product and the weekend line told me to go home without making a purchase. I documented those to cover myself.

I received a call from a woman offering me a lead postion for a job on June 23. It doesn't sound too difficult. She said it would pay about 120.00 for 7 hours.
I would have to take kits to the store for the other people working that day and activate their cards.
I know that they only pay $8.00 per hour for a regular event.
Just wondering if anyone has ever done this before?

Hey, totally forgot to mention this. Did anyone else notice that they brown cardboard box that was inside the white MC box for todays Hershey event had a label on it from PROMOWORKS? Weird.

Brivers had a picture like that months ago, but I couldn't remember what demo co it was from.

Yep that is from an old event. I have another Hersey's event tonight.

BTW.. ususally 4 pieces of paper and receipts usually run me the $.63 soon to be more come monday.
