The ST in Lawrence (Ks) uses TMT and their own employees. Usually on a weekend, there are 3 Target employees and 3 TMT employees. IF the demo person is wearing tan pants, they are a Target employee.
But there is a lot of competition for the ST. I know two ladies from TMT who, between them, are on the event website all day long. They take turns checking for new jobs. If one is "on-duty" and needs to use the restroom, she will call the other lady to cover for her while she is away from the computer. This way they get most of the jobs!

Hmmm if that's the case here, that would explain why I see the same ladies all the time! One can not even speak english!!:sad2:

I did Five Rivers wine today. I managed to sell 8 bottles not bad for a very light day in ST.

I am confused. I received my 1st SPI check today for a 4 hour event & it was for $66.00. Is this SPi's 4 hr rate? I was expecting less. Is the rate for a 5 hr event $80. Do Spi & TMT have the same rates?

My closest ST goes very fast now too. The one 15 minutes away is always open but the one down the road people grab right away. I guess times are tough and people are grabbing what they can. For Florida this is like executive pay too:) LOL.

Some states receive $80 for a 5 hr event

Your 4 hour event could have been an enhanced event, they pay a little bit more.

I'm doing the snyder's of hanover snacks today.... And more yogurt tomorrow. Trying to keep myself from doing too many, My kids have asked me to stop... :) I just smile and say, Do you want to see Disney World again... If so I have to work at least twice a week....
My son is loving it, he did the smoothies yesterday, Yeah, I know it was MOther's Day, but he really wanted to work... We did have a great dinner together with the family.

Yes that would be the rate for a 4 hr event for some states. All my rates went up by $10, so it was 56 now 66, was 70 now 8- and i just did a 6 hour this saturday to the tune of $96...woohoo!!!

Just got a chance to post after my 2nd Coppertone event yesterday... It went better than the first one, I set up nearer to the entrance (right by the Mothers Day cards) so I got more traffic. However, I must have pulled a muscle in my inner thigh & by the time I left I could barely walk I was in so much pain.

Splash - I know you use one of those mats to stand on... can I ask where you got it?!

Microcell, as you know, this is my only job. But I had quit my full time job before finding this work. Things I'm missing out on by only having this as a job are: no retirement fund by employer & other benefits; no office co-workers to chit-chat with so sometimes I get lonely; no sick days or vacation days........ that kind of stuff. It has benefits over office crap environment sometimes though. I'm fortunate enough that I don't "need" the money. I'm doing it for extra money & for something to do besides sit around. It gets me out of the house. But I've been depressed some about the situation I've created for myself by walking out on a 30k job. I know that if we are ever going to get some of the larger dreams we were close to fulfulling ( a brand new home), that I'm going to have to go back to a full time job & deal with all the stress & hassles that come with it.

On the other hand, if MC doesn't give you enough work, you can always sign up with multiple demo companies. Good luck in deciding. Its all in what will make you happy. I'm not totally thrilled with working weekends now while DH is home, but I try to make sure we get enough time to still do things.

Gives me alot of food for thought! I do have competition in the KC metro, and I might have to do alot of Walmart jobs (which I don't like as well). I have been able to get work when I want it, I just would hate to quit my job and have the well dry up.

I am not concerned about benefits or pay. Sadly, I make more doing demos! I too worry about having the nicer things in life, but quite honestly, we are (and have been) struggling a long time. It is more important for us to keep the kids out of daycare.

The major plus to keeping my job somehow for another year is they would allow me to work around my kids once DS is in first grade and I could FINALLY work 9-330 M-F. Then we could make some headway. On the flip side the doctors I work for are in their mid 60's so how much longer would they work?

I am thinking about looking at other options as well as demos and combining jobs. What could I do from 9-12 when DS is in school next year?

So many thoughts running through my head!

Thanks for the advice though, and SPlsh, when you are ready, then you will be able to go back to the "Grind". Funny how we feel, you don't want to go back to a high paying job, and after 9 years of scraping, I am so ready! Just not at the expense of my kids!

I saw the Hersheys for 6/16 but was already booked for Cheerios/NatureValley/Powerade... When I doubled checked the date I noticed they changed the time on that one to 9-2... I unbooked & rebooked the Hersheys instead... Saturday at 9am-ish is the only time I can get my house clean!

Oh gosh, now you are limping too? I'm doing better, except first thing out of bed. Then it goes away.

I got my mat at Staples (at the store) about $17. It comes rolled up & thats how I transport it. Its gray & just a couple of inches longer than our table. It was in the area where computer desk & chairs are. Good luck. (BTW, when rolled up tight, you can actually get it into a table kit, but its usually dusty so I don't put it in there anymore.) http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/s...catalogId=10051&productId=10461&cmArea=SEARCH
There are thickers ones available other places online, but I went with that one.

I'm glad you posted. I forgot I was supposed to buy some Dr Scholl's arch thingys for my shoes to see if that would help with the archilles tendon.

Thanks for info. I just unbooked my 6/16 that changed to 9am. Not gonna happen. I'm not a morning person & the store was 1 hr away. And someone took my local Kmart for 6/16. So I took another.

5/19 COPPERTONE OFF DATES ARE UP --- BIG WINDOW FOR TAKING THEM....ALL THE WAY UNTIL END OF JUNE!!!!

ALSO 5/19 & 5/20 HONEYCOMBS CEREAL & 5/21 YOPLAIT OFF DATES ARE UP UNTIL END OF MAY.

I just booked 5 more events. I could take more, but they interfere with some prior plans. :guilty:

Just wanted to pop in and say hello :goodvibes I just got my paperwork and MC card today so I can start booking events. There really isn't much available right now in my area. My first booking at this point is Coppertone and it's not till June. Gives me plenty of time to prepare myself!!

oh darn it seems like i missed out pon the other 6/16, i actually dont mind the 9-2 cuz at least i have my day to myself, ugh!! altho the hersheys was at my favorite kmart, maybe it wil give me a chance t see who my competition is.

When May is over, I will have had 14 events in the month. And 4 for June so far.

WOW!!! Maybe I should book myself a trip to WDW. That surely would pay for a good part of it!!!!!
