Non-park dinner

I'm trying to decide what to do for our arrival night dinner. We have 2 adults, 2 Disney adults (one big picky-ish eater and one tiny, non-picky eater), and one kid. We will arrive late afternoon/ early evening, but won't have a park ticket that day. I was thinking about Goofy's as my kids love buffets, but the pricing feels a little out of hand. I may still go that route because I tend to splurge on vacation, but was wondering if anyone else has anything they'd recommend for a fun dinner near the parks. 3.5 of the 5 of us are vegetarian if that makes a difference in your recommendation.

Another idea could be Splitsville. Their food is quite good and there is a nice variety. You could even do some bowling afterwards!

GCH also has the Craftsman Bar (poolside table service) and the Craftsman Grill (quick service). They have similar menus, but the Craftsman Grill is obviously much cheaper (and no table service). We love their pizza and nachos, but everything Ive had there has been good. There was even one time they made me a "plain" version of their wagyu burger with just lettuce, tomato, pickle and cheese (I didn't want the odd fancy sounding toppings). They are super accommodating for picky eaters.

If you're willing to go outside of the Disneyland area, I would suggest Rakkan Ramen on W Katella Ave, east of S Harbour Blvd (east of Disneyland). They have lots of items that even the picky eaters would enjoy, like chicken karaage (nuggets) and seasoned fries. They offer a variety of ramen such as ones with miso, shrimp, umami and others.

Pizza and nachos are usually a hit with my kids.

Definitely willing to go outside of Disney for the right place. I'll check it out.

Din Tai Fung is awesome!
One of our favorites but since we have one local we don't do it at Disney usually.

If you don't mind going a bit further away from Disney we like the food hall at Anaheim packing district, especially with my picky eater since there are several places to choose from. It is about 10 mins away from Disney. We usually have a car, but we have ubered there before as well.

Does the Craftsman Bar still have live music in the evening?

As far as I know, yes. There was a band during my last stay in February of this year. My parents and I went to celebrate my Dad's 70th and we were lucky enough to have a room in the Napa Rose elevator side (toward the pool). We listened to the band on the balcony. It was lovely!
