I had my first "interesting" event yesterday. I did Hershey's at K-mart (which was my longest drive yet, 30 miles.) I was worried they wouldn't have my box, but they didn't have any of the candy bars or pouches I needed. So I spent 45 minutes with the manager while she looked. It was getting late so I though I better just set up and promote by handing out the brouchers. I made a 1 item swipe in purchase at 11:13. Then a half hour later the manager comes rolling up this large steel cart with 2 huge Hershey boxes, stops in front of me and said "Is this what you need?" I said "YES!, THANKS!" and he walks away! So, then I went and bought the candy bars I needed and was stuck putting together this huge cardboard Hershey's display and stocking the candy on the shelves myself!! Then I had to roll this huge steel cart across the floor back to the stock room to get it out of my way! I felt I should be wearing a K-Mart shirt instead of the Mass Connections attire! Oh well at least I had candy bars to sample. I just hope I don't have any problems because I had two swipe in reciepts!
I am also confused about leaving an event.
In the hershey instructions it stated that the event must run regardless of inventory. If the featured product and the alternate product weren't available proceed with the kit.
I can't imagine how boring it would have been without any samples and just the brochures.
Back from Coppertone. Beautiful weather in the 70s. A Tuesday. Manager tells me to set up in the Infants Dept.![]()
Can you say SLOWWWWWWWW?! Somehow I managed to sell 7 bottles off my table. Funny though. Thats the same # I sold on Saturday, & I'm sure today I saw about 1/2 the # of people. Whatever. This store actually had Splashers to sell. Problem was getting people to my table. They get saying they didn't have kids. Ugh! That's why I didn't want to set up in Infants. Duh....Coppertone is for adults too ya know. Gave away multiples of swim pants & left more for the store employees with the manager.
Do it all over again tomorrow & Thurs.
So, I had my 2nd event on Saturday. Dannon All naturals, tasty, customers like the coupons. I sold out by 2:30 and out of samples by 3, so I passed out coupons. I wanted to share this email I got forwarded by Taylor, I'm so excited!![]()
Wanted to share with you a compliment from the Schnuck's store you worked in on 5/5. Please let me know if you are interested in working most of your events here. Thank you very much for your hard work!

Isn't that cool?
No, you won't have a problem... Just make sure you note that the manager found this after the fact. Also, the instructions tell you to make a $.75 purchase and notify computerlink that the event did not run due to no product. Weren't you just wasting your time as you shouldn't have been running the event without product or alternate product? I am not yelling at you, this just seems to be a grey area for me as I travel some rather long distances and unless I have a kit in my hot little hands on the way, I am very leary of booking events far away... for fear they won't have a kit or an item and then I would only get $28 for the show up rate. I know that is null and void since he found your product, but I am still confused on when to stay and when to leave certain events.
For instance tonight I have another Herseys event... will I get paid if I promote the item without actually haveing samples to hand out? Hopefully that is NOT the case![]()
