Splsh: has a bit to do with a lot of stuff..lol...dont blame ya tho!!..lol

I had my first "interesting" event yesterday. I did Hershey's at K-mart (which was my longest drive yet, 30 miles.) I was worried they wouldn't have my box, but they didn't have any of the candy bars or pouches I needed. So I spent 45 minutes with the manager while she looked. It was getting late so I though I better just set up and promote by handing out the brouchers. I made a 1 item swipe in purchase at 11:13. Then a half hour later the manager comes rolling up this large steel cart with 2 huge Hershey boxes, stops in front of me and said "Is this what you need?" I said "YES!, THANKS!" and he walks away! So, then I went and bought the candy bars I needed and was stuck putting together this huge cardboard Hershey's display and stocking the candy on the shelves myself!! Then I had to roll this huge steel cart across the floor back to the stock room to get it out of my way! I felt I should be wearing a K-Mart shirt instead of the Mass Connections attire! Oh well at least I had candy bars to sample. I just hope I don't have any problems because I had two swipe in reciepts!

No, you won't have a problem... Just make sure you note that the manager found this after the fact. Also, the instructions tell you to make a $.75 purchase and notify computerlink that the event did not run due to no product. Weren't you just wasting your time as you shouldn't have been running the event without product or alternate product? I am not yelling at you, this just seems to be a grey area for me as I travel some rather long distances and unless I have a kit in my hot little hands on the way, I am very leary of booking events far away... for fear they won't have a kit or an item and then I would only get $28 for the show up rate. I know that is null and void since he found your product, but I am still confused on when to stay and when to leave certain events.

For instance tonight I have another Herseys event... will I get paid if I promote the item without actually haveing samples to hand out? Hopefully that is NOT the case :)

I am also confused about leaving an event.
In the hershey instructions it stated that the event must run regardless of inventory. If the featured product and the alternate product weren't available proceed with the kit.
I can't imagine how boring it would have been without any samples and just the brochures.

My Hershey’s Event instructions didn’t have the option to make a .75 purchase and leave if there was no product. If there was no product, you were to promote the product using the materials in the kit. Now how unproductive would that be? I’m sure the company’s are paying for us to be there with the product. The situation of no kit and no product was not addressed. If there was no kit, we were to call the 800# and have the budget increased to buy the napkins, cutting board, and knife. Under that scenario, it was assumed there was product. I would have definitely called the 800# if I hadn’t had the kit and product and told them I was leaving.

Joyce - I don’t want to think how boring it would have been without product. I’m sure it would have been as boring as the time I did Scrubbing Bubbles on a Tuesday.

By the way, how much were the Hershey Anti-Oxidant bars in your area? Mine were on sale 2/$3 regularly $2.99.

The bars were 2/$3.00. There was also a smaller bar that sold for .99.
I did that Scrubbing Bubbles too. Mine was on a weekend and very boring!!!!

Try doing one with no samples, no brochures, no nothing........the entire 5 hours! But hey, I got paid for it!:thumbsup2

Back from Coppertone. Beautiful weather in the 70s. A Tuesday. Manager tells me to set up in the Infants Dept. :sad2: Can you say SLOWWWWWWWW?! Somehow I managed to sell 7 bottles off my table. Funny though. Thats the same # I sold on Saturday, & I'm sure today I saw about 1/2 the # of people. Whatever. This store actually had Splashers to sell. Problem was getting people to my table. They get saying they didn't have kids. Ugh! That's why I didn't want to set up in Infants. Duh....Coppertone is for adults too ya know. Gave away multiples of swim pants & left more for the store employees with the manager.

Do it all over again tomorrow & Thurs.

At least you're half done with this event. :woohoo:

This afternoon I received a call from TMT asking if I could do the Flat Earth Crisp event at Target on the 20th. I’d already scheduled a WM event with SPi for that day. Before being offered the opportunity to also work for SPi, Target events would be gone in a matter of hours and now a few of these Target locations have gone unfilled for a couple of weeks because I believe us TMT’ers picked up the WM event first. I told her I was busy on the 20th, but could do the 19th. She told me Target wasn’t flexible that way. What would you “guys” have done? Would you have told her you had an SPi event that day and try to reschedule the SPi event? Or, just do what I did and tell you couldn’t work that day? The SPi event is 5 hours vs 4 hours for TMT.

I just finished my first event!
It was Coppertone on a slow tusday morning on cape cod. I know i sold next to nothing. It was an "older" crowd to say the least and as soon as they saw the cartoon characters on the splashers they said they didnt have kids. Or they saw the coppertone and said they didnt go out in the sun :confused3 All in all i gave away about half of my pampers stuff. Nobody wanted the suntan lotion on them though. i have this event again tomorrow, but have only recieved one kit. So i took what i had leftover from today and am going to use that tomorrow. I hope this is okay?? If only this event was a few weeks later im sure i could have done better with all the beach going tourists. ;)

TMT called me last week wanting me to do that too. I told her I was doing an event for SPI. She wanted to know what hours, said she could maybe change the hours(not the day), but my other event is in another town, so no-go.

So, I had my 2nd event on Saturday. Dannon All naturals, tasty, customers like the coupons. I sold out by 2:30 and out of samples by 3, so I passed out coupons. I wanted to share this email I got forwarded by Taylor, I'm so excited!:woohoo:

Wanted to share with you a compliment from the Schnuck's store you worked in on 5/5. Please let me know if you are interested in working most of your events here. Thank you very much for your hard work!

Isn't that cool?

EXCELLENT JOB aksunshine!!!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Here's a funny. I'm getting dressed just now & my shoes have Coppertone sunscreen all over them. :rotfl: I'm on my way out to a small old Walmart in a lower income area. I have just 15 WaterBabies coupons. I wonder how long those will last. Wish me luck. ;)

Very cool!:cool1: I don't know what Schnucks is but I assume a grocery store! Cool!

Very Cool!! AKSunshine. Last time I got a complement at a Tassimo event, I was sent a 20 gift card. This was before the implemented the points system but I would not be surprise if you get a reward!!!

Great job on your first Demo. I have nothing positive to say about coppertone events:sad2: so I wont digress anyway still plugging my way through!

I'm back....and sooooooo sick of doing Coppertone / Pampers. I looked everywhere in this store & never found any displays. Just a small selection on the shelves. A total of 80 cans of spray...and no WaterBabies spray at all.:guilty: I sold 4 Coppertone & 1 Splashers. I was right up front near the check-out registers.

One more of these boring events tomorrow. I can't wait for Friday when I can go back to doing FOOD!

brivers222 The instructions stated to just stay and promote while passing out brochures if there was no product to sample. Boring. Otherwise I would not have wasted 45 minutes of my time looking for those darn candy bars! I was just following the "What To Do If: Product Issues" on the Hershey's Event Instructions.

Today, I'm at Walmart in the town I worked in for almost 20 yrs in banking & insurance. Fingers crossed that I don't run into anyone I know. ;)

I think I've learned my feet can't handle this many days in a row. This morning my ankles are killing me. I haven't been able to use my anti-fatigue mat the last 3 Coppertone events because there wasn't any room for it near my table. Today, I'm finding a way to use it!!! I have to get thru today & tomorrow then I can rest.

aksunshine-- How wonderful!!!

MaMa3Princess-- Are they really that bad, I have one today I am getting ready to do.. Hope it goes well....

SplshMtn99--I hope mine today is not that bad... I hate boring!! But I like getting a check.. :)

So for the contest, How many have you sold?

Well hope everyone has a great day!!!

I'm doing Snyders on Fri and then Sat and Sun is Coppertone/Splashers again.
