This questions seems to come up regularly so I thought that I would post a poll.

:) Bill

yes and yes.

we reserved a 2BR and a studio (10 people) at OKW 10/4 to 10/9 and two 1BR's at SSR (8 people) 10/10 to 10-12.

At OKW we received the section of the resort we asked for, the floor we asked for, and placement of the two rooms (same bldg)

At SSR, the only request we did not get was a DD view from our rooms. I was stuck in the boondocks again (aka The Paddocks).

not bad considering that we were dealing with the 3 day Columbus Day weekend in the middle of that time period.

I've only used it once, so never seems a little harsh. Requested a first floor. Got second. Oh well.

Trying it again this weekend. We'll see how it goes.

I used it once - for the SSR portion of our trip this past week. I got the section (Springs) but not the first floor request. The request for Springs was put in via Member Services and the first floor request was added when I did the online check in.

I did not use it for the BLT portion of our trip - I requested "even numbered north room, preferably 7216." I got 7216. :thumbsup2 This seemed to have little to do with my request though. A CM working at one of those laptop stands behind the counter CMs walked over as I was checking in and said she just noticed that I was in the room I requested (she couldn't say the number) but didn't realize it was my request until after she looked at the assignment. But then she added that it was the only SV dedicated 2br available anyway. So I'd have been there no matter what I requested.

we have used it 3 times, with reasonable success. 1-in section requested of ssr, with rooms next door to another family we were travelling with, ground floor. 2-not in section requested (but columbus day weekend), but again rooms directly across from other family. 3-boardwalk requested highest floor and got 2nd (which is really the lowest due to the shops), but during end of renovations, so wasn't too picky.

i think it's about the same success rate as when we used to just check in, i only request at ssr for the section, and all the others as high as possible. just happy to be at wdw and figure the requests (online or not) are a gift of pixie dust when they happen!

I checked in for both resorts two days ago. There may have been an issue with the system but I was not able to access the room request for the AKV or BLT. I will politely request when I arrive. Hopefully I will get it.

I always make my requests with MS, and then use online check in. As far as I know there is no place to make the requests at the time you do the online check in. In Sept., my request for a high floor, even numbered dedicated 2 bedroom was honored to the tee (unit 8102 - 11th floor. Essentially gave us a partial MK view and we were thrilled.) Last month at BWV, I asked for top floor, near the elevator. I got neither. Got an unrenovated studio on the 3rd floor about as far away from the elevator as I could possibly be.

When it comes to room requests, its really hit or miss and I don't think checking in online affects it in any way. I think they try their best to honor any requests, but sometimes inventory just doesn't cooperate.

i have only done this twice same trip last month. we don't make much for request BLT upper floor got 11th. CP when we moved to SSR and got that. funny it was a room that a lot of people would not want but it was first fl. no view but so easy for parking, walking to pool,DTD and the bus stop.
