UPDATE Michael Jackson rushed to the hospital (He Has Died)

I was not much of a fan of his (well, except the early years) and had little positive to say about him when he was alive. However, I am saddened by any one's passing and my condolences go out to his family and fans!:sad1:

There were people before him. John Lennon, Elvis, Marilin Monroe were all icons, superstars, and continue to be today. I would place MJ up there, but they came before him.

This is the next Princess Diana type death. So many people adored this man. Truly a tragedy.

watching nancy grace and she is wonderful right now :) is talking to the lawyer... :) she is def being respectful, and you know how she was rough on him... he is talking about it probably being meds... and enablers of the drugs...

Hubby and I heard it on the radio in the car this evening and we were both shocked. It is so weird how celebrities always seem to pass away in 3's....

What a talented person he was. I was a big fan back in the 80's and desperately wanted the Thriller cassette for my 13th birthday.

My parents said that too!!! Could you please give me an example of "they always go in 3's"?

Not Tanya, but here ya go

Ed mcmahon, Farah, and MJ

A few years ago: Princess Di, Mother Theresa, and JFK jr.

I work in healthcare. I totally get the "in threes" thing. Happens almost every time.

makes feel like I am getting old I dunno why... :(

I think John Mayer tweeted something that sums up how I feel:

"I think we'll mourn his loss as well as the loss of ourselves as children listening to Thriller on the record player."

Not a fan of the man in his later life, but with his passing, I'm mourning a piece of my childhood.

Perfect. :sad1:

Also, how about David Carradine? And Walter Cronkite is very sick, isn't he? If we count David and Walter soon dies, they'll be another. There always is.

I can't help but wonder what happens to his kids? I mean, they were so protected by him and what happens to them now?

I was wondering the same thing Do they go back to their mother or to his family? I think if there is ahalfway normal one in the family it might be Janet. Not sure if the kids will go to her.

Still in shock here

wonder if I should buy a cd? hmmm or listen on puter

yes, I always wonder where you start counting..
My MIL was counting the three as David Carridine, Ed M. and Farrah...

so by her count MJ is 1...

East Coast alert: The Barbara Walters special on Michael Jackson has started on ABC.

Her 20/20 special on Farrah (originally scheduled for tomorrow,) starts at 10 PM.

Yes Carradine might have been the first, and then MJ would be the start of a new three

MJ...Cronkite...??? Patrick Swayze??? Hope not:sad2:

I just heard on CNN that they belive he had a broken rib and was on pain killers for that. Right now they belive he OD'd on the pain killers

Dateline special on NBC now

Drs take advantage of their weak patients ALL the time. Anna Nicole, Heath Ledger, Elvis. List goes on and on.

He could have OD'd on pain killers, or a combination. We will just have to wait I guess. Of course some won't wait...they will just speculate, and outright lie for ratings, and mag sales.

This is one of the saddest days in my life. I am in complete shock. I can not believe such an icon is gone... Such a misunderstood man

I am very upset with the media and people who are trying to take away from him today. It's disgusting. You may not have liked him and you may not have agreed with his lifestyle choices but you can't deny the man his music. He was truly the greatest and imo did not deserve the criticism he received about his face and lifestyle. Over the years I saw a man relentlessly destroyed by criticism for no reason. Yes, he was a bit odd but he was a genius. Most geniuses are odd. I'm done venting now. I'm just pretty upset with what I'm hearing and what I heard today.

We lost a legend today and he will be missed.

RIP MJ. Thank you for breaking barriers, setting records, and bringing us the music.
