That may sound like I have some agenda but I really don't, just curious if there is a greater underlying preference involved or if there is something more specific about the turkey legs.
Chloesmom said:I too have thing with meat on the bone. My DD had to have one last year so i gave in. The outside looked pretty good and I tried a little piece. It was pretty good. The inside though.. was fatty and had a huge piece of cartilage in it that was surrounded by this clear slime. I know that since it is from an animal there is no way for anyone to know what is going on inside it but I was grossed out all day. To make it worse my DD still wanted it and I had to get napkins and scrape off the clear slime stuff. We smelled like turkey all day too. Now the sight of people munching on them makes me gag.

ETA: Don't know this person but I googled Turkey Leg to see if there were any good pics on how red the turkey legs are. Found one and yuck again!

Thanks for the info. I still say yuck!jezebella said:FYI --- the Turkey legs are not "rare"...you can't eat turkey rare unless you want food poisoning. The red color of the turkey legs comes from the smoking process.
