Ticket upgrade question

We will be a WDW for 7 days in July. We have never been to the water parks and plan to do that 2 days, so I am only planning 5 park days. I had originally purchased 7 day park tickets, but I can save 100 if I just get 5 day. I'm trying to watch every dollar this trip and the extra 100 just about pays for an upgrade to pool view at AKL from standard.

My question is can I upgrade to the 7 day for the same price once we are on site? In case we decide we want to go to a park in the evening after our water park days.

Is there any reason to purchase the 7 day now, or should i just go with the 5 day and upgrade while we are there if we need to?

My question is

1. can I upgrade to the 7 day for the same price once we are on site? In case we decide we want to go to a park in the evening after our water park days.

2. Is there any reason to purchase the 7 day now, or should i just go with the 5 day and upgrade while we are there if we need to?

1. Yes.
2. If (IF) you are planning on making advance-bookings of FP+ for all 7 days, then you need
a 7-day ticket to do so.

Also, you can go to a water park -and- a theme park on the same day, if you like.

I would get the longer tickets now because you may decide to do additional half days at the water parks. That's what we did when we went in the summer one year. We just went to the water park instead of the pool at the hotel in the afternoon. Toured the parks in the morning and the evening when it was cooler.

And as Robo said you will be able to make your FP selections for all the days you're there.

If you allready purchased 7days tickets wouldnt you have to spend more money to buy a second set of 5 day tickets that are cheaper
Yes I know you can save the seven day tickets for a future trip but you said you are watching money for this trip

But yes you can upgrade the 5 day ticket unless it's some sort of promo ticket that can't be upgraded

It's with a package so I can change down to the 5 day tickets instead of the 7 day tickets. I would love to have extra tickets for another visit but I definitely need to save the cash now.

So if I can only make fastpass reservations for 5 days, does it have to be 5 consective daays? Will I be able to make them for friday, sunday, monday, tuesday and thursday? I don't mind not having them in advance for those water park days but they are in the middle of our stay.
