Ticket Prices - Here is what increased and what stayed the same

The prices for the following types of tickets increased on June 1:

- 1 Day, 1 Park tickets for the major theme parks
- Park Hopper Passes (purchased at the gate)
- Park Hopper PLUS Passes (purchased at the gate)
- Ultimate Park Hoppers (purchased on location)

The prices for the following types of tickets appear not to have inceased:

- All tickets purchased in advance
- All seasonal and annual passes
- Single day admission tickets to the minor parks


Since Disney Club discounts on park hopper- type tickets are only available on advance purchases, all Disney CLub prices should have remained the same.

The bottom line is that those who plan their vacation in advance (and either purchase Annual Passes or order their tickets in advance) will *not* be affected by these increases.

Interesting that Disney is raising ticket prices again.

Attendance, post 9/11, has been hurting. So, the mind-set is, "let's raise ticket prices."

I am sure each ticket now sold brings in more revenue. But, how much do they loose by having some families say "enough" and then choose other vacation options? (Especially with the weak economy.)

They should probably follow their "fairytale" vacation package model and give discounted ticket prices in an effort to attract more theme park revenue. Just a thought.

I saw a ticket notice on cnn that said that the one day tickets were being raised to 52.00$ Thants all I saw on the ticker tape.

Since 3 of us have PAP's and one doesn't, we can't purchase an UPH in advance.

The one going with us doesn't need an annual pass and the only way to match the PAP is with a UPH, we don't have much choice!

I'm not sure why you can't pre-purchase the UPH. Our group consists of 3 PAP holders and two that required UPH. I pre-purchased those UPH a few weeks ago in order to realize the DC savings. If you have a DC, I don't see why you can't take advantage of pre-purchasing the UPH.

Can anyone confirm that I will still be able to get the DC discount on a RENEWAL of one of the PAPs since that must be done at the parks? My PAP expires on 6/14 and I planned to renew it after we arrive. I was told at the time if I purchased the UPH that I would get that discount--hopefully things haven't changed since then?

You will be able to renew at WDW using your DC discount. AP/PAP's are the only major park tickets that still allow the DC discount at the gate.

That's odd....I've been told every time I call that if I pre-purchase UPH's, we have to buy one for everyone in our group. The only way to buy for just one person was to do it at check-in. I do have DC, but can't find anyone that will let me pre-purchase. I've tried through the CRO number and the DC number and was told the same thing.

I agree, I had been told that in the past about UPH too, then again, I was purchasing them at that time for all in our party.

I booked our rooms long ago and changed them to the AP rate when it came out. A few weeks ago, I called and told the CM (using DC line) I wanted to add TWO UPH to our res in order to take advantage of DC discount. She gave me the total, I paid with our credit card (the bill for which has already come and been paid) and the two people in our party that need them will have them at check-in. She even asked if I needed other admission media for the remaining members of our party and I told her we were all PAP holders, so no.

We're all set--guess I don't know what else to tell you--try again maybe and just ask to add the number of UPH you require in order to take advantage of the DC discount. Hope it works for you.

BTW, I did this last year only purchased 3 UPH and none for me--I had the PAP. All in the same room/same res.

Thanks for the details. I did try again just to be sure and I was told the same thing...couldn't do it. In fact, this less than helpful CM said that I couldn't buy just a single UPH ANYWHERE!

I knew that was wrong, so after finally insisting that she double check with someone, she came back and agreed that they could be purchased at check-in, but that whoever she checked with said they couldn't be pre-purchased.

I guess you just lucked out a couple of times with a cooperative CM!

Oh well, with what we're spending I guess a few more $$'s isn't going to kill us. Still, a little consistency wouldn't hurt either!

I'd try again if I were you, AP/PAP holders are exempt from the "everyone one in your party must buy one" rule. I took the following from Deb's site. ~~

When you purchase your UPH's through CRO/WDTC, they are directly tied to the entire length of your reservation and the number in your party; hence the length of stay pass must be purchased by all members of your party (except for holders of AP/PAP's) and must equal the number of nights reserved. Holders of valid AP/PAP's are exempted from this requirement. You must purchase UPH's to cover your arrival day straight through to your departure day. One advantage to purchasing this way is you will get a slightly reduced advance purchase price for each UPH you buy.

If you wait until resort check in to purchase your UPH, you will pay a little more for your UPH's but it may be more advantageous to you since you may have either your arrival day or departure day removed thus saving you some money over the advance purchased UPH's. If your UPH's were purchased as part of a Disney package (Dream Maker, Resort Magic, Grand Plan, etc), you cannot change them to drop a day.

At least someone else can back me up on this one! Guess that means I wasn't treated "specially"--just lucky enough to get a reservationist with the requisite knowledge. Maybe the key, Peachgirl, is to tell them you have the PAP/AP but need xxx number of UPH for the remaining party members. I know I've had no problem doing this in the last couple of trips.

Thanks Tess and SuzyQue! It finally worked! I took your advice and said exactly what you suggested..."I need to add an UPH to my reservation". It was like opening the magic doors! The CM was most helpful and gave me no problem at all.



Since we're staying at CSR the first night , then moving to OKW we can make use of that first day. We'll be staying late on our last day as well, so we won't be wasting any time on the UPH! Between the increase at the gate I would have had to pay and the Disney Club discount I would have lost, this saves me nearly $40!


We've had these reservations for over 6 months. In that time I've called at least half a dozen times or more for one reason or another and each time I tried to get them to let me purchase an UPH. They always said it wasn't possible, even when I told them the rest in our party were PAP holders. I wouldn't have attempted again except that I read your posts on this thread.

Length of Stays are now called Ultimate Hopper Passes (or affectionately known here as UHPs ) . Or you may see them referred to as UMPs (Ultimate Magic Passes). Different names, same benefits - unlimited admissions to all places in Disney World from the moment that you check in to midnight of the day that you check out. (Unless you buy them when you check in and ask to have either your arrival or departure date "dropped" from the pass).

I do not know the prices off hand - but if you go to www.wdwinfo.com and click on Ticket Prices on the side of the page, you will find the information that you are looking for.

DIsney is trying to get people planning ahead again. Lately the lead time on getting people to make ressies at resorts has only been 1-2 months - hence the ever changing hours in April and May and the late release of June hours. If people plan ahead for the whole vacation, Disney doesn't have rooms sitting open.

It's not the "planning ahead' part that is attractive to Disney... it's "purchasing ahead". They want to drive the money you cough up for tickets to their bottom line quicker by encouraging you to buy the tickets ahead of time instead of at check-in or when you walk up to the gates.
