This is the last trip the 4 of us ever take to WDW. Nov 2-12 *FinalUpdate 3/19* Pg.59

Great job getting up and completing the run on minimal sleep. I'm sure the course didn't take you through the safari area but wouldn't that have been fun to run with a herd of zebras?

I'd definitely need more incentive than a banana and a medal seeing as how I'm a very lazy runner. Now those Mickey waffles, that's a different story. I have Mickey waffle love!

So very nice of you to pick up the shirt for your wife. A couple spins on EE is definitely a nice reward for a good deed done.

They gave every runner a runDisney food box that was filled with all kinds of snack packs of food I don't eat. But I did get a banana.
Where's the beer?

During breakfast, Melody decided she wanted me to go back to AK and pick up a shirt she only saw in AK… a brown Mickey head shirt
Couldn't she have told you that before you went and ran right through there?
:confused3

You're kind of proud of that medal, aren't you? :rotfl:

It was fun but after doing a few of these parties with very young children, I think we are gonna give them a rest for a while.

There's a ride…. or is it a show? that I've never done. It is always closed when we go. :confused3

Yeah, totally don't blame you there. I think with the prices they charge and all they offer, I'd have a hard time feeling like I"ve gotten my money's worth at the pace that children (understandably) go. Honestly, and this is just my humble opinion and I'm sure others would disagree a lot, I'd think they'd be more enjoyable with the pre-teen/teen set a lot more.

Oh it's a cute ride/show good once every 5 years or so. It's cool and a place to get a nice break. Don't break your back to get there though.

The Safari Chapter:

Well, you got the requisite rhino butt picture. Everything is right in my world now, Tim. Thanks! :thumbsup2

What else can I say.... the lion was sleeping (no surprise there), it was a bumpy ride, and the other line was filled with poor saps who probably thought you bribed your way to the front of the line, or paid your first born for the privilege. :lmao:

Great job on that run.

I did that route as my very first 5K. I was concerned about the hills leading into Africa and back into Dinoland but hardly noticed them. I do remember it being about a mile until I finally got into the park and wondering when the parking lot part would end. :lmao:

I can only imagine the anxiety over the bib. Glad it all worked out.

Love the shirt....

Nice job on the 5k Gingerbread Man! :thumbsup2 Did you beat Barry??? :rolleyes1 I told Drew last weekend I need to take him sometime and let him run the 5k, although I bet he could probably survive the half if he worked at it a little.
Barry wasn't at this run wise guy.

You should have him run. It really was a great experience.

Celebrating your success with all you can eat Mickey waffles is definitely a great reward! Well, that and the
I can't think of a better breakfast. Can you?

And super job of taking one for the team heading back to AK for the T-shirt, and then making that additional EE sacrifice. :lmao:
It was rough but someone had to do it. ;)

Tim, congrats on another 5K completion. So very proud of you. :thumbsup2
Thanks Kathy! Now I need some warmer temps so I can get out there and start running again.

How come when I was at CSR a year ago, I do not remember seeing Mickey Waffles at the Pepper Market?
I don't know. They were all the way to the left in the kids section.

Glad you got to sneak in two rides on EE after you found Mel's shirt. I love the photo of you sitting on the bench with Minnie making eyes at you. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
Minnie had her eyes on me- don't tell Melody! :lmao::lmao:

yum mickey waffles.

Although I do prefer the big ones.
I don't think I've seen big Mickey waffles before.. I've seen the big POP ones though. :confused3

Great job getting up and completing the run on minimal sleep. I'm sure the course didn't take you through the safari area but wouldn't that have been fun to run with a herd of zebras?
They had animals out on the course. I think they has a zebra… I know they had some huge birds & goats- no lions though. :rotfl2:

I'd definitely need more incentive than a banana and a medal seeing as how I'm a very lazy runner. Now those Mickey waffles, that's a different story. I have Mickey waffle love!
LOL….

Getting done and eating breakfast was good motivation. I love Mickey waffles too. I wish I could make waffles at home that tasted like that.

So very nice of you to pick up the shirt for your wife. A couple spins on EE is definitely a nice reward for a good deed done.
Thanks!!!! I had to ride something. Would you walk into a park for a shirt and walk right out?

I didn't think so. :lmao:

Where's the beer?
Good question. I don't recall any tents for merchandise or food/drink when I finished. :scratchin

Couldn't she have told you that before you went and ran right through there?
:confused3
:rotfl2::rotfl2: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Would of make my life a bit easier.

You're kind of proud of that medal, aren't you? :rotfl:
It was my first runDisney medal. So, yes, I was a bit proud of it. :smokin:

OMG an update and luvin the pics with the medal it's kinda like lookie me I gots a medal :)

I've mostly had them at POR.

After going to bed after midnight, 5:30am comes very quickly.

Thanks for reminding me of what my life will be like for the next few months. :faint:

I wanted to get there super early for the Jingle Jungle 5K to find out where I needed to go to pick up my race packet. The don't let you run without checking in and wearing a number. I was worried I'd have to drive somewhere else on property to get it.

Unprepared for class again...:sad2:

What was I going to do to entertain myself? I know….. stand in line.

Um...yay? Where's your FastPass?

We came back into the park and ran past EE, Nemo, and Dinosaur then out another door back into the parking lot to the finish line!

Nice run!:thumbsup2

They gave every runner a runDisney food box that was filled with all kinds of snack packs of food I don't eat. But I did get a banana.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Here, eat this. It's indistinguishable from the box.

So before heading over to the WWoS, I took one for the team and drove back to Animal Kingdom.

Father of the Year!

I walked over to Africa and found the shirt right away. Was I going to turn around and walk out but what fun would that be? I walked over to EE and saw that the single rider line was a 5 minute wait so I jumped on..

The 5 minute wait was actually a 0 minute wait so once off, I got back in line and waited for a front seat this time.

Definitely Father of the Year! :rotfl:

Congrats on the run! the shirt and medal are pretty cool!

love you photo on EE and with Minnie! nice you went to get the shirt for Mel and got to sneak in a couple of rides!

Finally caught up! Just got back from Tinkerbell half, after being stranded in Cali for an extra two days due to the snow....shockingly no one feels sorry for me.

Yay race day! That morning was quite cold if I remember correctly! It was fun meeting you that morning and having someone to chat with while waiting for the race to start! Thanks again for letting me cut in line for Mickey and Minnie! Rumor has it they were not in their xmas garb this year. Definitely a fun race though. I am trying to convince my friend to sign up for the Princess 5K next month. I'd like to do another race where I can actually enjoy it and not be in pain by mile 10!

I agree, however I'm sure it's different for people that visit from the west coast because of the time difference. Our kids have always gone to bed on the early side- by 8:30, so it is tough for them to hang late…. add in being up late in WDW for a week and no naps --> :scared1:

Oh it's a cute ride/show good once every 5 years or so. It's cool and a place to get a nice break. Don't break your back to get there though.
Ok, I won't be rushing. :tiptoe:

The Safari Chapter:

Well, you got the requisite rhino butt picture. Everything is right in my world now, Tim. Thanks! :thumbsup2
LOL… It's either the rhino or the elephant butt pic that people expect to see. :lmao::lmao:

What else can I say.... the lion was sleeping (no surprise there), it was a bumpy ride, and the other line was filled with poor saps who probably thought you bribed your way to the front of the line, or paid your first born for the privilege. :lmao:
Wow… I can't disagree here. You summed that up perfectly! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Great job on that run.
Thanks Pat! I really enjoyed it and it was kinda like a trial run

I did that route as my very first 5K. I was concerned about the hills leading into Africa and back into Dinoland but hardly noticed them. I do remember it being about a mile until I finally got into the park and wondering when the parking lot part would end. :lmao:
:lmao::lmao:

I felt the same way. I started thinking the run was just through the parking lot. :lmao:

I can only imagine the anxiety over the bib. Glad it all worked out.
I was a little anxious about it but worked out fine.

Love the shirt....
Thanks… that is the shirt I got from running in the GKTW 5K the previous weekend. :goodvibes

OMG an update and luvin the pics with the medal it's kinda like lookie me I gots a medal :)
:rotfl::rotfl:

Yep. I think I was a little proud of it. But people walk around all weekend with their runDisney medals so don't think I was a weirdo. :lmao::lmao:

I've mostly had them at POR.
That explains it. We've never stayed there.

Thanks for reminding me of what my life will be like for the next few months. :faint:
Well, according to your FB post, you are gonna find out sooner than later. :lmao:

Unprepared for class again...:sad2:
Story of my life!

Um...yay? Where's your FastPass?
The machines were down. :headache:

Nice run!:thumbsup2
Thank you. You should try it sometime. :duck:

Here, eat this. It's indistinguishable from the box.
At least it was packaged nicely.

Father of the Year!

Definitely Father of the Year! :rotfl:

Congrats on the run! the shirt and medal are pretty cool!
The medal is hanging in my room… next to my 1/2 marathon medal. :goodvibes

love you photo on EE and with Minnie! nice you went to get the shirt for Mel and got to sneak in a couple of rides!
Thank you! I couldn't go alllll the way in AK and not ride something. :rotfl2:

Finally caught up! Just got back from Tinkerbell half, after being stranded in Cali for an extra two days due to the snow....shockingly no one feels sorry for me.
Nice job!!!! Sorry you got stuck in California. That must of been really hard on you. :rolleyes1

It was a little cool but not too bad. Hey you can cut the line to chat anytime… :rotfl:

Just so you know the 5K medals aren't really metal, they are rubber. Maybe you should do the TOT 10 miler, then once you are in pain you are done. :lmao:

Ha not a bad idea! Though I just got the bad news on my back today. I have multiple bulging discs in my back so TOT may not work for me this year. After the Princess I am taking a break......maybe.....it will be a battle between me and my physical therapist.

Yikes! I hope it is nothing too serious and you can get back running soon.

Honestly, rush to Beverley; it's far more entertaining.
:rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

And some of us are more immature than others. :sad2::rolleyes1:rotfl2:
I've been good lately. But it is most likely a blip. popcorn::

My Halloween 5K and 1/2 are each in a shadowbox.

Ouch- I hope you can come to a compromise. :) I am at the point with my shoulder to ask for forgiveness not permission.
If it doesn't hurt and I can be creative in stretching or strengthening then I do It. :) Usually I get no grief.

:rotfl::rotfl:

Yep. I think I was a little proud of it. But people walk around all weekend with their runDisney medals so don't think I was a weirdo. :lmao::lmao:

if I ran that far I'd be proud of it too. I can't even run up the stairs like :lmao:
