I've been typing away for what seems like forever and got booted by a popup from a friend on Facebook- that's what I get for multitasking and having too many tabs open. Gonna try this catching up thing again...

Hi MAYers. I just got home a little while ago. Whew! Long day of scrapping. LOL. I got 8 pages done. Which is a LOT for me.

It was a lot of fun and I'm glad that we went, but I don't know that I would spend $65 to go back again. It was nice, because we were seated with people that were close to our age. So, it was nice talking to new people - but aside from the food (which there was a ton of! ) It wasn't really worth paying for. The 'demos' were like 2 minutes, and they were basically "Hey, look how to use this sticker - it's for sale over there' and that was it.
I was hoping that they would have tools for us to use, or a cricut, or sisix (sp?) or SOMETHING... But nope.

Whatev. It was still a nice day out.

Next time - I'll set up my 8 foot tabe in my garage and Rach and I can order in lunch and scrap down there.


Well, I'm going to bed. I'm dead tired. I'll see you guys tomorrow


P.S. - Darrie Ann, tell Jason that Bob and I wish him a very happy birthday with many many more to come!!!

Glad you got 8 pages done!!! Bummer about the demos being sales pitches instead of anything useful.

Hi Shelly! Good to hear from you! I am dying to hear all about our trip.

Well - I'll do my best to give you the scoop.

I am trying to plan my trip for October, I got insanely jealous (in a good way) of your trip so I went into early planning mode. Giant Eagle is now selling Disney gift cards and they are doing double fuel perks this week so I think I am stock piling on either Disney, Universal, or Southwest cards. I called Disney and they accept them to pay off trips!I had a small fiasco where I thought really terrible neighbors would be moving in across the street - but they were outbid!! Annnd ummm, and I went to an all day scrapbook crop yesterday with my BFF Rachel and it was a lot of fun and a great day out, but IDK if it was worth the money I spent....

Sea - Cruisin' in the Caribbean right about now! He's posted some cool pics of his fun at DLR, his neice and nephew at Epcot last week, and some very interesting old pictures of his wife.

Lake's DH Jason's birthday was yesterday and her home renovations are finally done! She and Trixie briefly discussed your upcoming Frankenmuth trip and were excited to start planning with you!

Trix wasn't on much, I think she missed her partner in crime. But - she updated us that she talked to you guys and that you were having a fabulous time But, don't worry - no details. She didn't want to spoil your TR!

Jo - kept us posted on your PTR where you guys would be in WDW and of course cheered on her Gators! But she was a little jealous Mark was at the game yesterday and she didn't get to go.

NC - Chris and Chloe are doing great, the book has really helped her. And she took a new *ahem* teaching gig at the school. I'll let her explain. LOL.

Tas is getting really excited for Eliska's 1st trip to Disneyland in just a few weeks!!! She was sniffin' paper (not nearly as awesome as sniffin' plastic used to be IMO )

Mari and Monny haven't been on much either - Mari is busy with school (I think she's a little more than halfway thru the semester, so her finals are coming up soon! GO MARI!) and Monny has been busy with work and her garage renovations. Good luck!

KB hasn't been on for a while. She's having a tough time at home, her mom wasn't doing well. Last week she had a stroke and KB could really use some MAYer prayers right now.

Huggie popped in quickly to say that soccer is now over, and that her upcoming WDW trip is expanding and it looks like it's quickly approaching!

Whew! That's about it!

Wow, RF! That was gooooood!

And I did miss my partner in crime...very much! But mostly I was busy working (gasp!) on a quilt that needs to be done soon. A rich lady hired me to make it for her and it's taken a lot longer than I had planned. The pattern isn't that hard, but she tried to cut it out herself and because she did that, it became 1000 times harder and slower for me. If she would have just picked out the fabrics and given them to me, I could have done it a much quicker way and been done by now.

So, yeah. That's what has been going on with me.

I'd love to see pics of your quilt when it's finished. It takes great talent and patience to quilt!

I'll post some of my pics first, then go back and read all the updates.

Here are a few pics of the new basement.
Mostly the family room, and our little office which am am happy to say I am sitting in now.
Just remember, the construction is done and now I get to work on the decorating.

I logged on just to tell you all that I just ordered my first Christmas gift of the year this morning! See? I'm not such a procrastinator!

But as I was waiting, I realized I had indeed already purchased 2 gifts!!! I ordered each of the girls a Disney pin from e-bay a while back. I stuck them (pun intended) in my drawers' drawer and forgot about them until just now.

I'm even better than I thought!

Are most of you done shopping already???

I finished my kids last week! Not much to buy when there's going to be a trip to Disney under the tree though

I have not bought one thing for Christmas! Not even begun to think about it. Too preoccupied with the trip I guess. As you all know I am usually all done with my Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving. Oh gosh, I am turning into a procrastinating MAYer!

But hey, I did see some awesome Christmas lights at Disney!!

Lake--- Great news on the cruise! That will be a lot of fun for you all. I can't see the pics for some reason of your reno-- but I know they are great and you are happy to have them done.

I am almost done with shopping!!!! I know- can you believe it? It's going to be a very very low key Christmas b/c the things the kids are asking for are so dang expensive!!

Belle is getting American Girl Julie and lots of accessories for her, a Vera Bradley purse and a few movies.

Mcat is supposed to be getting a Member's Only Jacket- but the place I bought it from online is a store in LA and they are dorking me around. I miught need Sea's help when he returns....... she's also getting a duffel bag and purse from Vera Bradley.

Drew is getting a cell phone, some cologne and some Wii games and movies.


I bought all of the above items online and had them shipped to my MIL's house where we always have Christmas Morning.

The kids have already pooled all of their $$ they got from getting good grades on their report cards and...... instead of spending it on themselves, they bought presents for their Grandparents. Isn't that sweet??

My Mom's present this year is dinner at a fancy restaurant in Charleston (haven't chosen which one yet) and a private tour of her favorite mansion down there. She is going to be ecstatic-- it's been closed off and on for years as a private residence but you've never been able to tour the whole house before. Witht he private tour, you can! Mark's parents present is always a gift certificate to their favorite swank restaurant in Chas, which I'll get when I'm there and my SIL gets a check (college student!) and his g'parents get a Gift certificate to a grocery store.

For the record I don't eat my pb warm OR cold. Room temperature is just right.

I have to go to a Homeroom Mom's mtg this morning, and Belle is in a program tonight at school-- she's a Dalmation. Yeah, I had fun making that costume.... Hidden Mickey and all.

And then I have to figure out whn we are going to WDW....





So many choices. Spring Break/Mcat's Bday? Anniversary? Week before July 4th? October and MNSSHP again?

I'm going to price out a split stay. POFQ and Poly.


We'll see.

Has anyone ever received a pin code for a disney cruise.

We haven't picked our cruise line or destination.
and we all know that Diusney cruises are twice if not three times the price. Just wondering if you have ever seen pins come in for them.

I haven't heard of that. Maybe you should try Carnival or Royal Caribbean. They are much more reasonible. I have been on both.

Next November?? How was the weather this trip?

Well the weather would have been perfect if it weren't for those high winds we got from tropical storm Ida. The temps were around 80-82 each day except for Thursday was in the 60's and Friday was in the mid 70's. We had a little humidity a few days, but nothing major. Just the way we like it, not too hot, not too cold! I would have liked to have seen a little more sun, but the cloudiness was due to the storm too. Luckily we only got rain late one evening!

Yay, Jo got a PIN finally!!! That definitely is a good one. That looks like the PIN I got for Disneyland that we are using for our current trip. We got 40% off any Disney resort at Disneyland.

I got 2 PINs recently for DL, one of which included free dining (They NEVER have free dining there as the dining plan is just not the same as WDW).

I'm hoping I'll get a WDW PIN someday. I'm beginning to believe they don't send those to people on the west coast. We just get Disneyland PINS instead.

My neighbor rear ended me last week. I didn't feel a thing but I heard it. She really did a number on my bumper.

So I took the car this morning and dropped it off. Was picked up by Enterprise, I get there and the gal at the counter says, "I see they have put you in an intermediate sized car. It will seem like a tin can compared to your Sequoia. You should call to see if the insurance company will upgrade you to a comparable car. I asked what an intermediate car would be, and she replied a Ford Focus. Well, long story short, I called and they upgrade me to a standard car, which I then out of pocket upgraded to a Full Size car which was an Impala. It is very nice, brand new, but I feel like I am driving the tiniest car. I can only imagine if I were in the Focus I would think I was in the Flinstone mobile. There is absolutely nothing wrong with either of those cars, but when you drive a tank, those other cars are just tiny.

Hi Mayers!

We are at Roatan, Honduras today. I am at a internet cafe with VERY slow service.

We are having a wonderful cruise. Lots of eating and resting. Yesterday we were at Grand Cayman and took a submarine ride! Tomorrow is Cozumel and then Princess Cay island.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with either of those cars, but when you drive a tank, those other cars are just tiny.

Oh my gosh, NC! I was just thinking about your Sequoia this very morning! Actually, I was wondering if my memory was correct and that was indeed what you have. You got it for Christmas or something, right? That must have been last year, when I was still lurking.

Anyway...we're looking into Sequoias right now! Used. No, make that "pre-owned". It sounds so much classier!

Do you still love yours? Do you get mad at it when you're at the gas station and have to fill it up? Are there any top-secret negatives that I should know about them? We drove one last weekend that had waaaaaay too many miles on it, just to get a feel for them. I used to have a 4Runner and we got rid of it because I felt like I was getting thrown around in it all the time. I certainly didn't have that feeling in the Sequoia, probably because it weighs 58,000 pounds! On the inside, it didn't feel as huge to me as I thought it would, but I just keep thinking, "Do we really need that much vehicle?"
