The STRANGEST thing you have ever seen in the parks.....

Hmmm well I don't have any WDW stories but I'll give it a shot with two from DL.

First was the woman who was in the HM line and leaned over TWICE to vomit into the bushes. That's fine, but gross, but it was how she kept going and didn't want to lose her spot on line that baffled me. Needless to say, I didn't want to be anywhere near her once we went inside!

Second was when we were leaving Fantasmic (and anyone who has seen F! at DL knows how congested that area is) when a man walking behind my brother literally wanted to start a fight with him because he claimed my brother was pushing his daughter. First of all, everyone is pushing each other to some extent while trying to escape the claustrophobia after the show. BUT My brother certainly wasn't pushing a young girl on purpose, and besides, how do you even push someone walking BEHIND you? I was sad for this girl whose father was acting like such a jerk.

A child in a stroller screaming his head off in the areas in front of the castle. By himself.

After looking around a bit, I see a woman sitting on a bench a good distance away and I ask her if that is her child. It is. She's teaching him a lesson about not getting what he wants. Not ashamed to say I chewed her out and asked her if she'd lost her mind.

Though who would kidnap a screaming crabby child? I already have one of my own.:confused3

We were taking the little boat from the MK to the Poly and there was a 3-4 year old seated directly in front of me who kept trying to squeeze through the side rails of the boat. The captain had asked the parents to please seat him in the middle but he fussed so they didn't. The mother was kind of keeping an eye on him but not 100% focused.

I was a nervous wreck the whole time and I actually TOOK MY SNEAKERS OFF in case I had to leap into the lake to fish him out. After they got off my DH said, "I almost had a heart attack- did you see what that kid was doing?" I pointed to my feet and said, "See him? I was ready to jump in after him!"

I really can't believe the captain didn't enforce the rule - he must have seen the kid squirming around at some point. Maybe he had his shoes off too and I just didn't see it!

In October we got on the Magical Express bus and some lady whipped out a diaper and a huge box of wipes and started changing her poopy kid right there on the front seat as people were boarding the bus. Not sure why she couldn't have done it one minute before in the airport bathroom!

In 2007 I went to Disney with my 2 and 4 year old. My husband is in the military and two weeks before our vacation he got a promotion. He didn't get to go because of it. Anyway.....
I was leaving Magic Kingdom pretty late at night pushing my children (both sleeping) in the double front/back stroller. A very large drunk man came from the side walking toward me. I saw him and was veering to get away from him because he wasn't looking where he was going. Well, I was unsuccessful. He ran directly into the stroller falling all over it, waking up my children. They were both crying as this man was half layin on top of them!!! Probably not the best thing to do, but I was trying to keep the stroller from tipping over with this huge man on top of my children. I kept my right hand on the handle bar and with my left I somehow shoved this guy off of the stroller. He was cussing and mumblin who knows what.
I wish I would have found a CM and reported him but I was just so shocked and shaking! I just wanted to get out of there and to my vehicle!

What I find strange is the number of people pulling actual suitcases around the parks. I see at least 3 a day when I'm in the parks. I don't mean the rolling backpacks, but actual suitcases. I saw one just over a week ago that could have held a 10-11 year old child. Maybe a new style stroller with sun cover?

This was Christmas week this year, and not strange in a bad way, just strange in a refreshing way. We were waiting for the Backlot tour at HS, and there was a teen girl READING A BOOK. Can't remember what it was, I thought I discreetly snapped a picture, but I can't find it. And it wasn't a Twilight or other similar book. This was a real book--maybe it was for school or something, but she seemed into it, and totally unconcerned that others might think it was odd to be reading a book at WDW.
I thought it was a great use of time, and would have loved for my DD to have used her line waiting time more wisely!

I read all the time WDW, usually while I'm waiting for the daredevils to finish the scary rides! Another reason I love my kindle! Truly it's the only time I have to read, when I'm on vacation!

Great Thread!!

My story was our last family trip in 2011. On the bus back to the resort, a boy (10 or 11??) struck up a conversation with our then 18 month old. He was showing my son a nasty sun burn he had obviously gotten during his trip that had blistered. He then proceeded to pick off a sheet of the skin and give it to my son! Why you may ask? He said it was for my son to play with!!!!:rotfl:

That's one souvenir I had no problem saying no to!!!

My 5 yr old and I were at Typhoon Lagoon and had just sat down on beach chairs to have some lunch. There was a Spanish-speaking couple near me with a sleeping baby in a stroller. The man asked me in very limited English if I would watch their baby so they could swim together. I said yes because I knew my son would probably take a quick nap AND I was afraid they'd ask someone else who might not be trustworthy. The area we were in was partially blocked by bushes and I couldn't see them at all which means I, or someone else they might have asked, could have just walked away with her. They were gone for a good 45 minutes! I must look honest :confused3 They WERE very grateful and thanked me over & over when they got back so I didn't really mind. I still have to shake my head over it, though.

Others may not think of this as strange since I saw so many people doing it...

Using iPads to take pictures. I wouldn't want to carry one around the parks.

If it was right before Christmas. She always has a book with her. And no you do not want your child to be like that.

That's an awful thing to say. I constantly read as a kid and my parents could not have been happier with it. Be glad she's not obsessively checking facebook or posting pictures of her take in a bathroom mirror to instagram.
