The STRANGEST thing you have ever seen in the parks.....

In September at WDW, there was a boy about 10ish or so in the row in front of us on Small World. He kept taking a jawbreaker out of his mouth and putting it in the water then back into his mouth. :scared1: I think I threw up a little in my mouth, actually I know I did! And knowing about the ashes, yuck!!!!!!!

Have you ever heard of a book called Going Bovine?:rotfl:

I still don't get it. I grew up in the southwest (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California) and I have always worn jeans anytime it was not forbidden by school or work dress codes. Hot, cold, below freezing or over 100, and I see a lot of other people around me doing the same. My grandfather had one suit to wear to church, but other than that he wore jeans or denim overalls every day of his life. Who doesn't wear jeans in the summer? What am I supposed to be wearing?

Yeah, I'm in Austin Tx and frequently wear jeans up to the 100's, keeps you from burning your skin on the benches or car seats. We are both skinny types, and used to the heat. However, if temps are below 60 don't laugh if you see me wearing a winter coat! I left Wisconsin a long time ago cause I get cold easily!

It all depends on what you are used to. I plan on wearing comfy warm up pants and/or sweats
In the park (in early Feb), unless it is unusually warm out. Comfy more important then style at my age.

Saw a mother take her baby out of a nappy once and wash him off in a drinking fountain....

I saw a teen girl (16 to 18 year old range) walking away from Expedition Everest in the middle of the day wearing just a tank top and her under panties and you could see EVERYTHING, she could have just as well have been naked. (I believe the rapids are in the same area so perhaps she took off her wet clothes?) A cast member we were near saw her, his jaw dropped and he got on a walkie talkie to call security to have her intercepted. It was shocking! And funny thing was, this was a very cold (for Florida) winter day. (this was probably 3 years ago)

The jeans aren't odd to me, either. I wear shorts or capris, but my shorts are conservative. Many people in our religious belief wear jeans just because they are considered more conservative. When you grow up that way, you get used to wearing them.

I've seen several strange things. One that surprised me was when I saw a man with his belt open and jeans unsnapped and wide open as he was tucking his shirt in after walking out of a restroom in the World Showcase.

Nothing too strange in 2011 but on a trip as a kid in 1986, my dad broke up a fight between two grown men inside the hall of presidents. Spanish speaking family wouldn't proceed all the way to the right and English speaking man took issue with it. He never did move over, we all walked over the family.

...where a family/group took off their shoes and sat there washing and soaking their feet in Cinderella's fountain!! I had to go find the pic, this one still makes me lol.

What is funnier is the kid at the drinking fountain... wondering where exactly does the drinking fountain water comes from.... I never notice anything when i am in the parks. I am pretty oblivious. All i ever notice is the periodic child fertilizing the landscaping. But that is relatively common now a days...

The strangest thing that happened to me was at Epcot in front of the Japanese Pavilion. I was taking a few pictures of my kids in front of the water, and this mother and grandmother who appeared to be Asian and did not speak a lot of English put their kid with my kids. They wanted to take pictures of their child with my children and asked my kids to hold her hand. It was odd but seemed totally innocent. My middle child has an uncommon color of red hair, and I thought maybe that was what drew them over there.

It probably had to do with the hair. My husband lived in Hawaii until he was 4 and he had platinum blonde hair. The Japanese tourists always asked my MIL for pictures with him because of his hair.

LOL We had something similar happen. My 3 yr old kept running around the Ariel statue by the piano pool at ASMu while a group was trying to take a family picture. I ran & grabbed him to get him out of the way but the dad just smiled & shook his head (they only spoke Spanish) and took him from me. He held my son and his whole family squeezed around him all laughing & smiling. After they took their pictures they were all hugging & loving on him. It was really cute and I'm sure they had a great time explaining to all their friends who the little tanless blonde was in their pictures :)

I've heard about this, unfortunately after my last trip where I did use the water fountains a few times. Never.Again.

I have one.. Although its not gross strange just unexpected strange... And I'm sure whoever saw this, thought my DD was out of her mind!!!

My DD was about 2 1/2, she is a HUGE Xmas person!! She still watches Xmas movies and sings songs year round!
We went down to disney, I think it was aug.. ( way before anyone is thinking about Xmas)

We where in Epcot and I thought it might be a nice change to let her out of stroller and walk next to us...
It was a great idea until she saw a man who look just like Santa in a Hawaiian shirt... She took off screaming" SANTA! SANTA!!!!" and just about got hit by a stroller and a CM pushing a huge chart.. Not to mention the poor people that she trip up running in front of..
However I did catch her, about 2 feet before she tackled this man to the ground... I did apologize over and over again to this man..
I can laugh about it now, but at the time I felt soo embarrassed....

Ok I guess my comment was more geared towards those kids who wear the skin tight jeans and over sized jackets and black/dark shirts. I don't think that's practical walking around a hot amusement park, waiting in lines with tons of people etc. We see TONS of those over the summer at amusement parks. I guess for someone who lives somewhere that has seasons, when it's warm I don't want to wear pants unless I have to.

I don't know how they stand it at Cedar Point let alone at Disney. They never look like they are enjoying themselves:confused3

This is so funny to me that people find it odd. I've lived in Southwest FL all of my life, and in Highschool our dress code was jeans or pants. So whenever I went to Disney back then, I wore Jeans and probably a darker colored shirt. It was just "normal" to me. Haha! I'm sure I would find it just as weird going up north and seeing people wear shorts in 60 or 70 degree weather. ;)

okay that's not really what I mean though. I'm referring to the "emo/goth" looking teenagers that seem to be in large quantity during he summer months.

I live in Cleveland, and I wear jeans all year. I just don't feel comfortable in shorts. Occasionally, I'll wear capris, but not often. I also tend to wear a lot of dark colors.
