The STRANGEST thing you have ever seen in the parks.....

Two things come to mind, both at MK.

We were in line for Astro Orbitors and there was a boy ahead of us who appeared to be 10 or 11. He sneezed all over his arm, and it was not a cute little sneeze if you know what I mean. He proceeded to look at it on his arm and then licked it up. We almost lost our lunch.

We were eating lunch at a quick service restaurant (can't remember which one) and a mom changed her toddler's diaper right there on the table next to us. We immediately left and notifiied a CM so not sure if anything was done.

I know that public breast feeding is a hot topic on here, but this was kind of funny. Last October, DH and I were going in to AK. Just as you walk past the ticketing area, there was a younger woman walking out. She was carrying her baby and had her tank top pulled down feeding him...while she was briskly walking. The poor little guy looked like he was hanging on for dear life.

Totally agree. Check laws, rules, and general do's and do nots before you go to a foreign country! That's basic planning...
I've been to over twenty countries, including Russia and China. I've never, ever reviewed their local laws prior to traveling. Heck, I live here and I do not review all of the laws that I am responsible for following.

I can honestly say I haven't seen anything THAT out of the ordinary at the parks. Just your normal run of the mill bad manners theme park stuff. But my favorite story is one I saw in a thread like this about 5 years ago on this site, where a family/group took off their shoes and sat there washing and soaking their feet in Cinderella's fountain!! I had to go find the pic, this one still makes me lol.

Not sure about this one. I wouldnt use a table but only because of others' perceptions. But I know when I can change my toddlers' diapers with little risk of being unsanitary. I routinely do so on say a couch. Slip the new diaper underneath then take out the old. Less than 1 you could have accident but a toddler doesn't immediately offend me. Especially if using a pad.

Not sure?! I did not appreciate the sight or smell of a stinky diaper being changed on a TABLE right next to me as I am eating. Plus it is SOOOO unsanitary. I have to disagree about the couch....there are places to change diapers and a couch is not one of them. As I said, I don't want to see it or smell it.

Nov 2010 on bus going to one of the parks form ASMU some woman drinking a beer right on the bus.

I agree. I wouldn't do it because people are eating nearby, but I am the diaper ninja. I can change a diaper without any mess whatsoever and carry bags for sealed disposal. Hey, you pick up some skills with 4 babies in 5 years! I will change my kids in the stroller if I don't have changing table pads to decrease risk of infection from other kids.

High heels at WDW wouldn't surprise me if a woman was from Italy. My DH and I were shocked at how quickly Italian women navigated the streets of Rome in stilettos!

Poop, yes poop in the que for Test Track. It was near the end of the line, at the top of the stairs, just when you turn left before you enter the movie area. Human feces in the corner.

I have no idea how long it was there...you could smell it. We reported it to CM immediately. How is that an OK thing to do? It wasn't small...

Maybe it was from a service animal??? :confused3

I wasn't specific, but when I said "I know when I can change it with little risk of being unsanitary" I meant when it was pee. If it's #2 I would err on the side of caution from doing it on a couch. But even then, using a pad is pretty effective. YMMV.

Sheesh, I mean it's not like they were breastfeeding or something :duck: I'm kidding... :goodvibes

Sorry, we're getting OT. We haven't really seen anything strange. I know because we would have a picture of it. DW thinks she's so slick with taking pictures of oddballs but she really isn't. It's cute how she tries to sneak it in too obvious of a way. Well *cute* until somebody gets offended and I'm the one who gets beat up!

Wow, I wouldn't have believed it if you didn't post a picture!!! LOL. That is so trashy!!! I hope they were kicked out for that.

This is such an interesting thread!!!! I cannot recall seeing anything out of the ordinary, now I have seen some women wear 6 the inch heels in the park. The only other thing I can recall, that was hilarious, was when we took the boat from MK back to the Poly this loud, obnoxious family got on. After we stopped at GF, the boy asks "which resort is that", the mother says "that's GF, it's one of their timeshares". It was just funny because she was so serious about it, they were so loud I'm sure everyone on the boat could hear them, even the captain was getting annoyed by them. It took all I had not to LOL!

Almost forgot this one...

Two grown men in a fight in the stroller parking for Festival of the Lion King. They were in each others faces yelling and threatening as one of their wives was trying to pull her husband away.

One of the men was older and said he was going to get his son, who he said was the age of the younger man. He went storming red-faced out of stroller parking as I left for the show.

I don't know what the fight was about. The older man seemed to be the instigator and more aggressive. Thankfully, no children were there and the area is removed from where the general public could see.

Can't be vacuumed at POTC since it's water. Still gross.

I see lots of breastfeeding at WDW and don't see anything wrong with it , cover or none. Americans (yes, I am one) are way too uptight about this. As far as the age of the child goes, it is a personal decision and people just need to mind their own business about that. I'll admit I think four is too old, but I wouldn't comment or be offended by someone else breastfeeding at that age.

Strangest thing I have seen is a baby sleeping in a stroller in the stroller parking outside of It's a Bug's Life. No adult anywhere nearby. I assume they were in watching the show.

Another strange thing I have seen on numerous occasions ... women in high heels in the parks.

Ya, what's up with that - I always wondered why they'd wear high heels :confused3....especially when I wear sneakers all day and my feet are tired and achy from a full day of go, go, go

Regarding the high heels. Last year, we were at Epcot for little weekend away from the boy. We had reservations for a nice dinner at Le Celier. We went back to our hotel in the afternoon and came back. My wife wanted to dress nice, and her heels were what went with her clothes. Now, she wouldn't wear them for all day at the park, and certainly not at 11 am, but for a nice dinner and evening at a park, I could see a woman wearing heels.

This was Christmas week this year, and not strange in a bad way, just strange in a refreshing way. We were waiting for the Backlot tour at HS, and there was a teen girl READING A BOOK. Can't remember what it was, I thought I discreetly snapped a picture, but I can't find it. And it wasn't a Twilight or other similar book. This was a real book--maybe it was for school or something, but she seemed into it, and totally unconcerned that others might think it was odd to be reading a book at WDW.
I thought it was a great use of time, and would have loved for my DD to have used her line waiting time more wisely!

On our very first trip we saw a group of women in the high heels (6 inch plus) and club attire in Epcot who were acting pretty drunk. I was shocked and said to my DH "Oh my gosh look at their heels! That's crazy!" He looks at me very seriously and says, "You think that's crazy- look at their Adam's Apples". Turns out it was a a group of drag queens. I was too shocked by their heels (and thinking of how much it would hurt) to notice.

I never go to the parks without a book. (Well, I never go anywhere without a book.)

If it was right before Christmas. She always has a book with her. And no you do not want your child to be like that.

My DD is 7 and reads constantly too. Her favorite is historical fiction ~ she usually has a book with her too. I don't like for her to bring them to the parks though because they are library books and I am afraid she will lose them!

I was this way too... I love to read. I read on my kindle app on my phone while in line (if I'm alone).
