The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Day 2 Sunday Sept 5th
I was up early and Chris was too. We still had some unpacking to do so we took out time a bit. I head to the Food court to bring back breakfast. I could make coffee in the room and it is a bit better than the stuff in the Food Court. I just needed creamer and Splenda. I get there and realized it is the dispenser not the little cups.

I walk back to room to get one of those cups to put the creamer in. Did I mention I am in building 1.

I counted.

396 step back to the room and 396 back to the food court. I grabbed a bounty platter for us to split and the creamer.
As I am balancing the creamer and the platter I drop the creamer. Splat – everywhere I was so embarrassed and tried to clean it up but the CM came over and told me she would get it. I then had to ask 3 other CMs for syrup in a container. Not sure why that was so hard.

I got back to the room Chris was ready and we ate most of the meal but never used the syrup. :headache:

Still made it to the bus stop by 8:47.

By 9:12 I believe I went to get Soarin FP and sent him into Innoventions. I wanted to show him the simulator. He loved the design your own coaster at DQ so I figured he would like this.

IMG_7199.jpg

I came back and he was already through the instructions part so I had to rush to catch up with him and I let him design everything and we rode together.

IMG_7201.jpg

We had fun sorting trash!!! :rotfl:

We kept missing Storm stories so we kept leaving and returning. In the end we make the show but then I realized we missed most of the preshow and that where all the info was that you needed in the room. To make matters worse I missed Jim Cantore. :headache:
Time to get some ride on.

IMG_7202.jpg

I grabbed FP for later.

IMG_7205.jpg

As usual I am chasing Chris – as usual he is running ahead.

IMG_7204.jpg

I think I have more pictures of the back of him than I do the front.
I really do not like that they are starting to manipulate the pictures so that you cannot redneck them anymore. I get it but the fact that you could do that was nice.

IMG_7207.jpg

As we walk over to the land we detour to the bathroom behind the character connection. I forgot this one was here.

IMG_7209.jpg

Instead of the Land we checked out

IMG_7210.jpg

Chris was in a go along mood. I am a bit disappointed that he did not get a chance to watch most of the preshow. I think he would like that. We saw the show and he didn’t walk out or complain. For a teenager I consider that a win.

We head next door to the Open house

IMG_7211.jpg

Can you see the attitude?

IMG_7212.jpg

IMG_7214.jpg

It was close to lunch time. I wanted to go to Sunshine Seasons since we were on the dining plan but I was vetoed. Somehow he has an adversion to Sunshine Seasons. I think during an earlier trip when they had a different menu, we stopped there but could find nothing for him to eat.

I think he still holds a grudge. We ended up at the Electric Umbrella.

I think I only had a salad since I was still full from breakfast and Chris probably had the chicken fingers. The only picture I got was the dessert.

IMG_7215.jpg

What will our afternoon look like? Will we stay together or will he go off on his own?

Alright, I am convinced! I have no hope. The tween is driving me insane these days but it looks like the teenage years don't get any better.

I really like the Trash game. When we were there this summer it was behind walls so I assume something new is coming.

Can't wait to read more.

Only a mini banana nut muffin? I would think only the full size- 400 calorie ones could hold you through pot stickers.
well i had 6 of them with some vanilla frosting on top, so about a whole muffin.
:thumbsup2

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I'm starting to sense a theme in this TR.

I really do not like that they are starting to manipulate the pictures so that you cannot redneck them anymore. I get it but the fact that you could do that was nice.

I didn't realize they were doing that. People probably wouldn't care about rednecking them if they didn't cost $18.95 apiece. :scared1:

Can you see the attitude?

To be fair, I've ridden Journey Into Imagination. And I now look like that anytime people try to make me go on it again. :rotfl:

What will our afternoon look like? Will we stay together or will he go off on his own?

Hopefully you'll at least use those Soarin' fastpasses you got!

Chris is all "guy". No offense to all the male readers out there but man, sometimes he has such an ego. :lmao: I take great pleasure in knocking him down a few pegs and humbling him a bit on a regular basis.
You just need to remember that they need to grow up and I am in the advice and guidance phase. I hope I have done my part in providing a great foundation of good decision making and knowing right from wrong and need to let him go make those decisions. I am there for advice and to prompt sometimes but he needs to live with the decisions and choices he makes.

Now in the last few days I begin to wonder if anything I have taught him has stuck but he works hard and saves his money so a few things stuck.

Case in point - we went clothes shopping and he picks up some shorts and underwear. You see the size of him right? He comes back with size Mens Large. :lmao: What was he thinking?

By the time I really looked ( I was trying to trust him and let him do it on his own) it was already rung up. I made him march with me to Customer service and told the woman behind the counter that " My idiot son thinks he is a large." We exchanged them for mediums that in my opinion are probably still too big but at least don't fall down. :rotfl2:

Baby steps. Oops I mean big boy steps. :lmao:

I really like the Trash game. When we were there this summer it was behind walls so I assume something new is coming.

Can't wait to read more.

I am glad we got to do it then. But I can't wait to see what is next. :goodvibes

Because of course if i did not get it I would be walking 396 steps back to the food Court to get what I forgot. :rotfl2:

Soo....how did he like it? :confused3

Goodness - I guess I did leave that out. :headache: Being that he LOVED the simualtor at DQ, he said it was OK even though he did not want to do it again. The test will be if he wants to do it when I take him back in Dec.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I'm starting to sense a theme in this TR.
I think I lost weight even with Free Dining becaue I was chasing him. :rotfl2:
If he actually knew where he was going, it would have been fine. :lmao:

I didn't realize they were doing that. People probably wouldn't care about rednecking them if they didn't cost $18.95 apiece. :scared1:

It was just TT and I think because it you can put it on the PP now.
I think it stinks. That is what set Disney apart- being able to get that picture without the highway robbery.

To be fair, I've ridden Journey Into Imagination. And I now look like that anytime people try to make me go on it again. :rotfl:

I am beginnning to wonder if he just ran ahead and had no idea what he was going into ? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That's one of those "serves him right" times.:rotfl2:

Hopefully you'll at least use those Soarin' fastpasses you got!

Perhaps after lunch. I had no photgraphic evidence of it before lunch.:confused3

My points were finally deposited into my account!!! :cool1: That's the good news.

The bad news ( sort of ) is that there is nothing really left for the end of Sept. Since I am running the 5K I needed a resort that also had transportation to the 5K.

My first call this morning confimed my account, but it had no points in it. While I had her on the phone I confirmed or inquired that any points I had that were 2010 points had to be used by Septemebr 30th. She looked around and tried to see what was available. Slim pickens but i might be able to pull something together.

My second call in the afternoon had my points and the CM - I did not get her name due to static on the line, flat out asked me if I wanted to bank. I jumped on that so I could hopefully use them for the next trip. :woohoo:

Now I am kind of unprepared for that so I thanked her and called back when I got home. My next trip is NYE and NOTHING is available. Not even SSR. :sad2: This time Linda advised me to call back - daily if possible to check.

So For the Sept/Oct trip I am still booked at ASSp but with a great discount!! I also have transportation to the 5K. :cool1:

I know it is fuzzy Disney Math but I was initally bummed at having to give up that great pin code. :rotfl2:

Now my dilemma is if nothing opens up, even for part of the trip, I will have to take another trip. Gee- with points and an AP - A free trip :cool1:

Can you say flower and garden?

I would have saved myself a few hundred steps by asking for a water cup and putting the creamer in there.

Yay for your DVC news! You are in a very fun club now. :cool1:

Peach monorail. Definitely peach.
Calling it flesh will just lead some of our DIS crazies to calling it the nekkid monorail, and that just wouldn't be right. ;)

We must have used that Soarin' FP either right before or right after lunch. We must have run right in so i did not stop for blurry pictures.

After lunch we cruise back through Innoventions

IMG_7217.jpg

We must have spent some time in Mouse Gears too.

IMG_7219.jpg

IMG_7220.jpg

I think we were killing time.
About 12:40 we head over to Innoventions again to wait in line for the Segway demo. I wanted him to try the Segway before I book a tour. He has a tendency to get frustrated with things that take a while to master. The last thing I wanted to do was plunk down some money for a tour and he declare it stupid and refuse to participate.

IMG_7227.jpg

We waited as they finished setting up.

IMG_7221.jpg

IMG_7222.jpg

IMG_7223.jpg

While we wait- Chris plays

IMG_7226.jpg

He is playing

IMG_7225.jpg

We sign all the waivers and such.
A wonderful CM comes up and starts rearranging the queue.

The queue that the other CM’s in the pictures just finished setting up.
He mumbled something about it not being right and he had to have it just so.

His name was Lamont. Remember that.
Lamont was funny and picked on Chris a little. Not enough to discourage Chris but enough to be fun.

Chris like the demo and wanted more. So I get to see if I can get a tour and if I can get either a VISA or AP discount. I stop by Guest Services but they cannot book for me I need to call the number.

It was getting hot so we head back to the room. But we stop here first.

IMG_7228.jpg

My face is on purpose, not so sure about Chris’. I laughed allover again when I saw these. Mostly at Chris.

IMG_7230.jpg

IMG_7231.jpg

He is soooo not a morning person.

IMG_7232.jpg

IMG_7233.jpg

IMG_7234.jpg

IMG_7235.jpg

IMG_7237.jpg

IMG_7238.jpg

We walk out to the bus and while we are on our way back to POFQ I call the number to book the tour. I was able to get an AP discount on the tour. Score! We made it back to the room around 2pm. Pool Time.

IMG_7240.jpg

As we walk to the pool from building...

IMG_7259.jpg

Will our time at the pool be relaxing?
Where's dinner tonight?

What will be our after dinner entertainment? You will be surprised.

I would have saved myself a few hundred steps by asking for a water cup and putting the creamer in there.

I looked all over for any sort of cup- ketchup cup, sauce cup anything. Had trouble finding somebody too believe it or not until of course I dropped the cup!!!

Yay for your DVC news! You are in a very fun club now. :cool1:

Now I need to use those points. I am glad they were able to bank them but I am a bit bummed I am not staying DVC. I am glad it all worked out. :woohoo:

Peach monorail. Definitely peach.
Calling it flesh will just lead some of our DIS crazies to calling it the nekkid monorail, and that just wouldn't be right. ;)

Hopefully it will be peachy looking. :lmao:
When Chris wanted to paint his room, he had the 101 Dalmations theme in there way too long, he was ambivalent about picking a color. I picked a Fairy purple and told I would paint it that color unless he picked one.

He ended up with something in the beige family. It may be peach too. But we remarked that if he stood by the wall he would blend in since it was sort of flesh colored.:lmao:

He stuck with it and now his room is that color.
It looks OK but when I say peach monorail the first thing I thought of was flesh. :rotfl2:

Great news on the DVC points being able to be banked. :thumbsup2

It looks like you had a good time at Epcot; glad you got back to POFQ for a little swim time.

:lmao:Oh, this is too funny! I needed that. I could have sewn Jeremy's mouth shut last night if I knew I wouldn't be one of Tom's inmates!! :rotfl2: I am so ready for school to start next week. Jeremy needs back on a daily routine! I NEED him back on a daily routine!

I used to be able to eat like that- when I was swimming 4 hours a day and 16. :rotfl2:
well they are about the size of a quarter, maybe slightly larger, so really not that big.

looking forward to the segway tour, i think that would be alot of fun to do one year.

We must have used that Soarin' FP either right before or right after lunch.

Sure you did. Did you recently check your pockets and find Soarin' fastpasses? :rotfl:

The queue that the other CM’s in the pictures just finished setting up.
He mumbled something about it not being right and he had to have it just so.

If I ever get my dream job at Disney, remind me not to work for that guy.

My face is on purpose, not so sure about Chris’. I laughed allover again when I saw these. Mostly at Chris.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Very nice!

Will our time at the pool be relaxing?
Where's dinner tonight?

What will be our after dinner entertainment? You will be surprised.

Wherever you go, I know it won't involve getting syrup and creamer from the dining hall.

Great news on the DVC points being able to be banked. :thumbsup2

While I was inquiring and then checking with DVC, everyone said I would have to use the points, so I had a plan but i was estatic to be able to bank them.

It looks like you had a good time at Epcot; glad you got back to POFQ for a little swim time.

It was a nice morning and early afternoon.:goodvibes

Oh I hear that - We are winding down around here but i am ready for that routine too.
