It is a beautiful resort. They are all on the list for me eventually but I can always visit for now. I will stay there someday but I do have others higher on the list.

Does the geyser "faithfully" go off at certain times?

I think it does go off every hour on the hour? My pictures were right at 5pm.

30 minutes was nothing to kill. We did not even go upstairs.

I check us into Whispering canyon.

We get seated right away since it is early. I start out with a strawberry shake. Chris starts out with a Coke. Note the regular size Coke.

I know I ordered the steak.

I am sure Chris ordered the same steak and mashed potatoes but also French Fries. You know what that means.

Our waiter was egging Chris on about needing ketchup. Chris was trying to play cool and kept saying he did not need ketchup. Chris was being a bit of a crabby teenager. The waiter and I finally made the call for ketchup.

Do you see the “large” soda that Chris had? He was done with his regular Coke and I ordered him a large. Do you also see how it is partially gone?

He made it his personal mission to finish that soda. Stay tuned to see how that decision worked out.

During dinner the hokey pokey was done. Chris did participate and our waiter did come over and thank him for doing so. Towards the end of dinner Chris still was not done with his drink so he got put in Canyon Jail.

He is not happy with me.

Somewhere someone dropped a fork. Chris actually went over to whoever had it and asked for it. notice Notice the Coke half gone?

After all was said and done- he was said and done.

Notice how he is not in the picture or at his seat? Well almost as soon as the last sip was sucked, he walked, no ran to the bathroom. I waited.

I watched as another waitress went to another table to sing Happy birthday with a cupcake. After she was done singing…. SHE ATE THE CUPCAKE !!! It was hilarious.

Then she called others over

Finally the boy returns, 6 minutes later.

The way he shot out of there I had to ask what happened?

The answer and the result of his actions coming right up.

DISCLAIMER: It gets kind of ugly from here. Read on if you have a strong stomach or just want to make fun of the boy, it was also hilarious.



Apparently all that soda caused a reversal of sorts. He confirmed he was good to head back. The last thing I needed was to be stuck on a long bus ride with a soda filled boy about to spew.

Well, we get on the bus because it is raining again and he needed to get back to the room and being the good mother I was, I did not want to send him back alone. We may have caught a DTD bus but the next stop was Fort Wilderness.

Chris informs me he has to get off to find a bathroom. Of course the one place I have no idea where a bathroom would be. He gets off and basically starts running. I wait.

AND WAIT

AND WAIT

AND WAIT

I wait for about an hour. Yes you read that right an hour. If it had been nicer weather, I would have walked around. Had I known it would have taken him that long, I would have hopped a bus and at least rode around. There was nothing I could do for him but wait. So I did.

I think at some point I did call him to check up on him. Basically the running boy was running.

It was close to 8pm when we finally boarded a bus to DTD.

At this point Chris was going back to the room. The original plan was to head back to MK for EMH. I knew he would be either in and out of the bathroom or just in the room. He assured me he would be fine. I make sure he gets on the POFQ bus. So to give him some alone time to process all that soda plus dinner, I walked around DTD a bit.

I made it over to the Pleasure Island stop and decided to catch this. Yup Mother of the Year. My son is sick and I am going to catch EMH.

I arrive and snap a few as I go up to catch the monorail.

I was able to catch the MSEP. It was just starting so as I entered I waited for the first break and when they opened up the rope I went as fast I could to Frontierland. Then I could watch the whole parade go by. This is the best picture of the bunch.

IASW was down for refurb.

On to MP

As I exited Wishes was going on . I stopped and watched the ending. I looked around behind me and there was a commotion. There was medical on site and some very frantic people. I could only guess maybe some shrapnel from Wishes. I hear broken glasses and saw what appeared to be a mess that was being cleaned up. I hope no one was hurt seriously .

I saw this

I was effectively stuck. This was the first time I have seen this area roped off like this. I have been back here before during wishes and not had it roped off. Hmmmmm the incident clearly happened outside the “zone”. Maybe when Fantasyland is finished you will be held back further.

So what to do ? I look around. Ever notice this window?

Pick up a FP or (FiP) for PP.

I have to take the long way around but I can get on this while I wait for the area to be cleared.

Chris was fine and watching TV when I came back.

I hate that he ended up in the bathroom but overall he was glad he did not make a bigger mess. The potential was there.

At least I got to see a bit more of Fort Wilderness.

Don't feel too sorry for him. The "large" was about a liter of soda. I am sure that is what got him running. I am surprised I did not hear him slosh as he walked.

I am learning with my allergies, I get some pretty strange and sudden reactions. Salad, salad dressing in particular is something i need to be careful of. Chris is the least allergic of all of us so thank goodness I don't have to watch what he eats.

I thought it was hilarious. Here she was singing Happy Birthday and everyone expected her to give it to teh birthday person and then she takes a bite. Talk about unexpected. She was up to some antics that night. I had fun watching her.

He was being a bit of a brat by making a point to finish it. It was a joke to bring out the large knowing he would never finish it. So he had to make a point that it could be done. Too bad the joke was on him when his body rebelled.
I would have been on my hands and knees if I attempted that. He was fine even as he was running to find the bathroom.


My dinner was great. You might want to give it another try someday. I know you had a bad experience.

I'm all caught up now and have really enjoyed reading it so far I love the whole trash can pictures thing you got going And it was cool reading about your experiences at POP and Port Orleans, two resorts I've been interested in staying at. I promise my comments will be a lot longer and more thoughtful, but it's late so I'm typing in a hurry at the moment.

one time we were there the guy at the table next to us said no water was too big for him...when he gave him a glass that size.

so the waiter returned with a cooking pot...that was at least a 20 quart stock pot full

The large soda story just feels like karma! Hilarious. And I did get to see that cupcake bit when I was there--in fact, I think the female server in your picture was our server! She was great.
