The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Pat, I wouldn't call that a meltdown at all; I would have been livid. If Chris wanted to go off on his own, why not just say so?

oh I stomped clear to the otherside of the park to cool off, probably mumbling and arms flailing a bit. :rotfl: Our issue was that he wanted to ride right then and there and the posted wait time of 40 minutes on SM no less even with the addition of the games is torture. It ended up being a shorter wait time so he "showed me" but I am sure our discussion was more about respect and patience.

I'm glad he "finally" found you.

Him "taking the long way around" was karma coming around to bite him back. :lmao:

Yes, you loved Ohana; yes and no for you constantly chasing Chris -- except at meal time and yes, you had a Lapu Lapu. :goodvibes

:goodvibes

Did you ever think of getting a leash for him?

I think we had a wrist one for him when he was little. :rotfl2:
What is fun in the world is that I can just let him go and I know he will be safe.

The funniest was on a prior trip he went from DTD to AK via WL. :lmao: When we was relaying that info I just laughed and told to be prepared to be on the bus for a while. He was thinking WL was AKL.

Oh goodness, I'm irritated and he's not even my son  Teenagers can really test your patience can't they?

Wow, I was getting angry just reading the chapter. I can only imagine what it felt like for you. Well, like my DW and I say in our house (quite a bit): "It's nothing a good taser couldn't take care of." :rotfl:

*Legal Disclaimer: I do not own a taser. Sometimes I just wish I did.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that your veteran Disney knowledge helped you get plenty of rides in. Hope Ohana made things better.

Yeah, like Mark says, hope 'Ohana makes everything better. See, if you play your cards right there, you could just put a large serving of the bread pudding in front of him, and get him into diabetic coma. Problem solved.

Ok, in all seriousness.... sorry you had to deal with that. I'd have been pi$$ed beyond reason, and told them (if it were my kids) that they would endure 3 rides in a row on IaSW for punishment.

He was really feeling his oats there. Once I got ahold of him I was able to talk some sense into him.

Oh I was a bit hot. Obviously i am over it now but after the day we had so far, i feared the week would tun out to anything but magical.

O'Hana does make things better.;)

This was not usual behavior from him. He knew that and that's why his guilty conscience had him call and apologize. ::yes::

We had many more "moments" but as I look back either they were forgettable or hilarious.

Lets's have some O'Hana shall we?

We get our buzzer. Now I have eaten at O’Hana twice before. I went with my DD when she turned 16 and we had a great table right in front of the castle and managed to see Wishes at the end of our meal.

Great food, great service and a wonderful experience.
Booked it again in ’08 for the family. Got seated almost at the bar ( not really a problem but I would have like to been at least closer to the action of the room) and the service was horrible. It took us more than 2 hours and we had to wait a long time to even get seated so we were extra hungry to boot. For a pre-plated dinner and everyone getting the same thing, there was no reason for the delay.

Also we had some crazy issue with the wings and the hot towels. I think she brought the wings and then quickly brought the hot towels. So they get cold while we eat. Then at some point she takes the towels but left the wings. Again no real problem. I guess we tried to continue to eat the wings, but then we were brought more food and she eventually comes back to ask if we want more wings. She had no idea what order things were to be delivered since she did not do all the delivering. If she did bring us more wings how would we eat them? How would we clean up? It was terribly unorganized, I was disappointed.

So as I wait I wonder, this is the tie breaker. How would this one go. We get called to our seat.

Obstructed view but we have a window.
Here comes the food.

I looked out the window and Hitchcock comes to mind.

We must have been too busy eating because that when the pictures stop. We eat our fill of shrimp, beef, turkey and pork and I think I had most of the bread pudding. We roll out of O’Hana satisfied.

The verdict? We have a winner. The service was great, the pacing good enough and even though there were lots of trees, the view was nice.
We make our way out to the monorail platform.

A little over 2 hours since we left MK, we return.

Since we botched the first ride of the trip, we opt for a do over. While we are there we grab FP again, so we are holding @ FP for SM and 1 for BTMRR

As we walk through the SM queue. Being September on a saturday night during Labor Day weekend, the line is surpirsingly short... again. ;)

After SM with full bellies we walk and decide to go here. :scared1:

Do we spin?
Do we have a protein spill?

I'm glad O'Hana was a success. I haven't tried it for dinner yet but loved it for breakfast.

Dinner :thumbsup2 The variety and quantity of food can't be beat.

Still need to try breakfast. Always laugh at people who think they have
"done it all" I always remark I keep going back because I still have things to do. :lmao:

This is still fresh on my mind from 4th of July. The pictures are delightful....

and a bit torturous!

How long until dinner time December 31, 2011?

If I could have a different part of the dinner every day I would be satisfied. The whole thing would just make me fat. :lmao:

I still miss the potatoes I had on the first try but the rest is more than enough to make up for it.

Have you made that ARD yet? Room for one more??/

I think my favorite part of that meal is the noodles, the chicken wings, and the shrimp. But I am always so stuffed by #1 and #2 that I barely eat any shrimp. I can honestly say I have never gotten a great view. Your view looks nice, well except for the birds. :scared1:

I never had the potatoes. Were they like the breakfast potatoes?

Sending you a PM about the ADR.

Your O'hana pictures look yummy! We enjoyed breakfast, but haven't been for dinner. Will have to add that to" the list."

I :rotfl: about the birds! I always think about that movie when I see a bunch of birds all together!

Oh the tea cups with a fully tummy doesn't sound like a good idea! :scared1:

I actually like the salad, the wings and the shrimp. I really when they had the potato dish - YUM

The birds were a bit freaky. :scared1: Like they were going to organize and fly into the window freaky.

I never feel I get to eat enough meat- I always fill up on the other stuff. Onthe other hand that may not be a bad thing.

They were Augratin Potatoes. Cheesy and GOOD. I guess teh noodles area bit healthier but I know those potatoes were calorie and fat free - They were Disney Potaotes.
:)

Got it and you are too kind.

It is a good and huge dinner - go hungry. from what i have experienced and what I have read from others, sometimes they do run behind, so be hungry but not starving when you arrive because you may have to wait a bit.

I always do- sometimes they look like they are plotting. :rotfl:

I think I mentioned on soemone else's report when they rode SM or BMTRR after O'Hana that I can't believe they did not get sick. I'm one to talk. :lmao:
