"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I agree, and although I figured it might turn out that way for Godric (from reading the book), Eric made me cry!

Only 3 episodes left - dang it! I guess the big Maryanne showdown will be on the finale...

BTW, naked Eric laughing and smiling in bed? All I can say is...YUM!

I said to my daughter when we saw that scene that this board would be burning up with talk of that scene ;)

:sunny:

I love that Sam turned into a fly so he could see what was going on at Sookie's house with Marianne, etal. I can't wait for that storyline to be over. Looks interesting about Bon Temps being destroyed in next week's episode. Maybe instead of a fire at Sookie's house, it will be ransacked, too.

Sam was the proverbial "fly on the wall".

I have a question though, since Lorena was popping up in Sookie's dream- is she still "in" on Eric's plan just so that she can get Bill back?

I think it may work like this (just a thought): Lorena is Bill's maker, so she has the blood bond with Bill. Sookie has the blood bond with Bill, so maybe Lorena can "get in there," too?

I agree with everyone about Maryann and her storyline...they just need to go. I'm really hoping that the finale this season will be the end of her and we'll start a very Maryann free Season 3...

LOVED the dream sequence with Eric and Sookie...:cloud9::banana: woohoo! More of that please! lol.

I think Lafayette will definitely have a defense against Maryann b/c of Eric's blood.

and was definitely happy(even though it's sad scene) that they carried over the Sookie going to watch Godric step into the light scene from the book!

Can't wait to see how they work in the Queen of Louisiana in the coming episodes, since it's a different point than in the books, but maybe she'll have something to do with getting rid of Maryann now????

Is the queen the news spokesperson that was bossing them around last night?

Evan Rachel Wood will be playing the Queen, right Tiffany!!? Will she show up before the end of this season !!!!???:dance3: I can't wait! I love her.

OMG, YES!!! I was watching last night with DH- I actually went back and watched that scene again (a few times, hee hee :rolleyes1) after he went to bed, just so I could sigh and drool without him there.

no. she is just a spokeswoman... The Queen is Eric's boss. The vampires have the country divided up into territories and each territory has a king or queen. They are bringing in the Queen of Louisiana much earlier on the show than she is in the books, so I'm interested in seeing why.

Yes. I know she will be at least on the last 2 episodes, MAYBE next episode. But I know at least the last 2.

I think the Maryann story line will be finished this season and the cliffhanger will have to do with Bill and Lorena. ;)

Let's hope so.

I am going miss Stan. He looked mighty hot in his western attire. Yum!

I too am very tired of the MaryAnn storyline, I hope this is the end for her.

I love the Hoyt/Jessica storyline, he is just so sweet. It's nice to see her this way instead of whining all the time, that was just annoying.

I wish they had not killed Godric, I really liked him.

Looking forward to more interactions with Eric and Sookie.

I hate Bill's maker, I could really do without her.

Can't wait to see the good Reverend and his wife get what is coming to them! Doesn't look like that will be this season though.

I thought it was very funny that Steve and Sarah were fighting when they were on TV. That should continue to be interesting if they keep letting us into their lives.

So I love True Blood now and just discoverd this thread . :thumbsup2

I am reading Book 4 now and have been watching the show too .
I LOVE ERIC .

I have to say that I also have had enough of the Maryann story line . I will be happy to see it go . I do however like the little love story with Tara and would like to see her guy hang around .

So was Godric just exhausted of living? He wanted to experience the next life?
I don't know about experiencing the next life. I don't know that Godric necessarily believed in one. However, after 2000+ years on earth, I think he was ready to pack it in and not be a vampire anymore.

:thumbsup2 yes. In essence, vampires sometimes just get tired of "living" so to speak and just step into the light and end things.

Thanks for that. So what is the relationship between a queen and a sheriff then? Isn't a sheriff a territorial position as well? Until now, those of us who only know what's going on from the show, would have thought the Sheriff's were at the top of the food chain (hmmm, that may be a poor choice of words when talking about vampires).

lol. Yeah they don't really go into it in the show. Technically(well according to the books anyway) Eric is the Sheriff of Area 5. Each territory is also divided up into Areas and there is a Sheriff of each area who is the authority figure for that area. They dole out punishment, and keep the vamps in that area in line. Ultimately though, the Queen/King of each area is in ultimate control. They keep the Area Sheriffs informed about what's going on. They use the sheriffs to hire out for various "projects" sometimes.

the whole Godric situation was a bit more complex in the books. There, Stan is the King of Texas(and dresses not like a cowboy, but like a giant nerd) Godric is his "brother" or one of his nest mates. So while in a somewhat position of power, the show changed it around to make him much more powerful. Sookie and Bill go there because Stan has asked for help from Louisiana and Eric knows he has a telepath on hire and figures this would be a good way to help out and show off Sookie's abilities and the fact that Louisiana has a telepath. In the books, we see Barry the Bellboy again and I hope we do on the show as well.

I rewatched the show last night and it was just as compelling as the first time (though I fast-forwarded through the Maryann business ...)

One thing that kind of caught my attention was during the Eric and Sookie dream, their "pillow talk" was a lot more playful and sweeter than what we've ever seen or heard with Bill. Maybe there's some wishful thinking in there on Sookie's part. ;-)

I also read an interview with Allan Hyde (Godric) and he said they filmed the "stepping into the light" scene all in one morning on the top of a Dallas hotel .. so they were having to get it right and get it done while it turned from night/dawn/sunrise. That's pretty impressive!

That sounds so sad, it's almost like committing suicide. Which leads me to think that Godric was hoping after all those years he could change things and realized the World & vampires were not ready to change and co-exist.
