Good Afternoon or Morning everyone!

I don't have many cousins but I'll give a shout out to the 3 i do have. Don't see them often due to living the opposite end of the country, but happy when I do. Have gotten closer to my younger female cousin in recent years, which I'm especially grateful for.

So to drinks:

1. Gingerbread & Pumpkin Spice Lattes - my go to whenever I go out and have a coffee, can't resist the syrup. Have also got some at home now to make my own. 😋

2. Flavoured Coke or Pepsi - I seem to live on the flavoured versions of Coke or Pepsi (I'm not fussy), they're so much better than the plain versions.

3. Alcohol - this makes me sound like an alcoholic, but its purely because I cant choose one type of alcohol over another as my tastes vary. I just appreciate a nice glass of wine, a gin & tonic or a cocktail, either at the weekend or when I'm on holiday. Not in excess, usually just 1 or maybe 2 max but after a long stressful week at work it can be helpful 🍷

LOVED Patty Duke Show. It was a real treat to be allowed to stay up late enough to watch it. "Identical cousins!!"

I was the oldest of all my cousins on my mom’s side and spent a couple of weeks every summer with them, being a Mother’s Helper for my Aunt.(6 kids!) I got a lot of practice in childcare as well as pretending to be a teacher (taught them songs, like Maria in Sound of Music).

Beverages:
Cold water
Coffee, hot and iced
Lemon Zinger tea with honey, when I am sick

Today's Topic (Fri, 7/25) - 3 things you're grateful for inspired by this photo

(could be amusement rides, real horses, things you like to photograph, whatever it makes you think of...)

I love carousel horses! 🎠

Grateful for -
  • my dad holding out pennies for me to grab on the merry-go-round as a kid (like the "brass ring" in the old days).
  • a particular amusement worker who let me get close to an at-that-time closed carousel to take some really good photos.
  • another vote for the music!

In grade school during recess we played that we were horses 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎 🐎
Must have been those 1960s TV Western

Weirdly I dont have many memories of merry-go-rounds which is odd seen as i must have come across a few as a child!

1. Rides & amusement parks - I have very fond memories of amusement parks and rides in general from when I was a young age, and even now they bring me so much joy, Disney especially.

2. Walks in my local area - I go out walking every day in my local area and there are a lot of stables and fields, and it always cheers me up to see the horses. Especially those who come up and say hello.

3. Work Horses - where I work has a Mounted unit, and i always love going there for a meeting as it gives me a good excuse to go and say hello to the horses. A workplace with animals is always so much happier!

Definitely look it up dear PollyanbaMom. There are 15 books in the series. I actually emailed with the author a few times about the books and asked ger to write more. She replied that she would love to but would need to be asked to do so at her publisher. I would enjoy talking about the series with you if you ever want :)

In the coastal town where my grandfather owned a summer home, there was a small amusement park that he'd take us to when we went to visit. He always called the merry-go-round the "Flying Horses." Every time I see a carousel, I think of Doc and the Flying Horses.

Bonine/meclizine! I get motion sick watching things that go around in circles, in the bathtub, in swimming pools, trains, planes, and automobiles, etc. Just seeing a carousel makes me thankful that I have access to meclizine to fight motion sickness, so I participate in all these fun experiences!

Smaller, local amusement parks and fairs. Such fun to be able to do something together as a family, enjoy the rides, eat too much, etc. [to say nothing of being FAR more affordable than WDW, hahaha!]
