"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

So I love True Blood now and just discoverd this thread . :thumbsup2

Me too! Well I've been lurking for awhile actually. I just finished book 6, 3 more to go before I'm caught up. I have to admit though, I've only watched a summary of season 1 on HBO and then just started watching season 2. I'm going to eventually pick up season 1 on DVD, but I'm loving this season so far :goodvibes

That sounds so sad, it's almost like committing suicide. Which leads me to think that Godric was hoping after all those years he could change things and realized the World & vampires were not ready to change and co-exist.

I hate to keep referring back to the books so much, but I'll do it anyway! Godric was a particularly "blood thirsty" killer in the books. He spent two thousand years destroying humans and grew sad and ashamed of his actions. He wanted to step into the light as a kind of amends to human kind and to escape the guilt he felt. He was horrible and felt he deserved punishment, which was to finally be "definitely dead."

Several of you have said you really liked Godric in the show, but I have to say I thought the character was kind of flat. I know that's how he was supposed to be, but the best scene he had was his death, imho. It was touching how Eric felt about him, and we begin to see Eric actually does have a heart.

I have a question from last week's episode. When Detective Belfleur showed up at the orgy, why wasn't he affected by Maryann? Since we know supernaturals aren't affected, an that mean he has some supernatural ability that we don't yet know about?

I think I read somewhere on the internet last year that Belfleur and his cousin (the cook at Merlotte's) are Bill's great grandchildren. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I was wondering about that.

Also, I don't even see what Sookie finds so great about Bill. He is so boring. Eric is so hot and naughty. I would take him in a second over Bill.

Ditto.

Then again Bill adores Sookie and would not put her in harm's way like Eric. Eric is a classic bad boy.;)

Yep, Andy and Portia are related to Bill. But I don't think that has anything to do with his "immunity" from Maryann.

After all, vampirism isn't hereditary. I do believe his alcohol level has something to do with it.;)

I also expected Godric to be more but his character was just toooo boring!

The one thing that drives me crazy is that in the first episodes of True Blood Bill had color to his face and was quite good-looking but now he is just too grey and washed out looking. Why do they not just have a little color rather than doing their make-up so grey like they are "trying too hard" to male them look like a vampire:confused3

I may be one of the few who does not think Eric is sexy....his actions are hot but looks wise, just doesn't cut it.

Yes, plus Andy arrived in the middle of the orgy while MaryAnn was preoccupied with Sam. Andy didn't really stand around the way Tara & Eggs did when they had arrived at that other orgy and MaryAnn saw them. She stopped for a moment and then concentrated her powers on making sure they were under her spell. Whereas, Andy arrived, took a quick drunken look around and then shot his gun while she was dealing with Sam.

This would be irrelevant since his children were conceived prior to him becoming a vampire. They'd have no vampire blood.

I think it might take some people longer to go under her spell. I don't know though. When she said to the Sherrif, boy you went fast, or something, it just seems like some people might take longer then others, maybe Andy's one of them.

For you bookies... I'm hoping for an appearance by amnesia eric in the finale :goodvibes I don't think that will happen.. but it would be nice

How is that possible? People were smoking pot and drinking at the parties. If that is the reasoning I can't buy that.

I think it has something to do with eating her food?

Or perhaps she is not including Andy in her menagerie on purpose and she knows he is a descendant? Could use that for her advantage?

Who is Portia? I don't know who that is.

We know Layfette is on the V so that could be why he is not affected.

I have a bad memory so that is why I asked. Plus I looked her up on the IMDB and didn't see it.
Your memory is fine. The show has just referred to her and to Andy's grandmother. Perhaps we'll get to meet them if/when it is revealed that they are related to Bill.

In the book, does Bill know that Andy is related to him? Does he act "grandfatherly" to him? And btw, I didn't think Eric was that hot until I saw him in bed with Sookie. Yum! He looked smokin.

I'm only up to book 6, but he does know Andy is related to him. And he does act "grandfatherly" in the sense that he gives them money anonymously (wait, is that grandfatherly?).

And.. Agreed :goodvibes

While Bill knows that Andy is related to him, he doesn't let the Bellefleur's in on the secret. He makes it seem like they've inherited the money from some unkown relative, IIRC.

Where does Bill get his money from? Or furthermore, where do most of the vampires get their money from, especially the really old ones? I know Eric owns that bar, right?

I was sitting here at work thinking about Eric and how he is sooo bad. I loved the look on his face when Sookie is sucking the silver out of his chest. It was priceless. And maybe the reason I don't like Bill anymore is because he has turned totally gray. I love Lafayette (awesome character) but Jason is so dumb sometimes it is hard to watch. It was totally funny, though, when he jumped up covered with vampire blood and guts and gave Sookie the two thumbs up. Classic Jason! This show has great writers (other than the Maryanne storyline). Tara and Eggs are perfect together.
