[:bounce:

That is too funny!

We bought DVC with a family of four with enough points for good vacations for that size........then along comes Mandy!!!!!! Now, we have to watch our points with having to do 2 bedrooms and such. OKW points goes a lot further for our buck. The only other resort we would stay at with DVC would be BCV. I don't care much for the others. But, then again BCV costs a lot more points per night and our time at WDW would have to be shortened. We like to do two weeks if it's our family. With the extended family over Thanksgiving, we can only afford one week.

ohanafamily

Oh how I wish I could stay at something more than an All Star. But, it meets my needs and I get to stay on Disney property, so I guess it will work for now!

Guess I should re-pharse--I COULD stay at a Mod, but choose not to because I want to spend more days at Disney. Now, if I join DVC . . . . .

RRBB

Although I went to the color wheel and tried repeatedly to put in ohanafamily's color, it didn't work!!! HELP!

My first three trips to WDW we stayed at All Star Movies. No kids in our party either. I was just so darn HAPPY to be there and we were never in our room except to sleep and a quick dip in the pool.
This last trip we stayed at a time share mid-week (I had points I had to use up with RCI) and supplemented it with AKL (2 nights) and one night at the Swan. I think I'd be pretty darn willing to do a split stay in the future, incorporating All Stars (to be able to extend the stay) with a mod. or good deal deluxe for the last few nights.
My trips to Disneyland I stayed at the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian (LOVE THAT PLACE), and twice off site because we had my canine friend Cara with us. Cara thinks going to Disney is riding in the tram and visiting with the other dogs in the kennel.
October trip (WHENEVER IT IS) will be time share combined with whichever resort we can get a good rate (AP) or possibly the Hilton at Downtown Disney.
Jan '05 will be Dolphin.....and deluxe the whole week, I want to be PAMPERED after the 1/2 marathon!

Odball27.... I'll sponsor Australia!

Hi.. there is so much to catch up on , don't know where to start..
hmmm..

We are still working in homework.. this is a very painful process.. trying to deal with DS#1.. pleaze write 1 more paragraph.. 1 more sentence.. it is supposed to be 4 pages.. not 3 pages and 1 big picture..

Then DS#2 is whining that he has nothing to do and want big Bro to play but Big bro has homework that is not getting done...

So I am going to hide in the hot tub and pretend that my children at cats and can fend for themselves..'cept to throw them an occasional fish..

Back to the question:
I believe that i have menetioned before we bought at OKW in 93 and never have stayed anywhere else on property except when we went on our first disney cruise. Back then, they only offered the 3 or 4 day cruises, so we did a 3 day and stayed at Dixie Landing for the land portion of the package.

However, this year we are going to do things differently.. 1 week at BCV and then the 2nd week at OKW.

oddball27 I will sponsor Brazil and Argentina.. MARDI GRAS in RIO with the TAG FAIRY for me...

Back to read what i have missed this morning and stop back before we go to the Boy Scout court of Honor today..Geoff, DS#1, has earned his STAR.. only LIFE and then EAGLE to go..which will take a real long time since it requires writting a paper.. not just camping , cooking, canoeingand tying knots.

TTFN

OK, Here is my deal about the All-Stars, AKA I have points and would rather use them. Seriously, I had a friend in their marketing department, and he told me that the places were always filled with uncontrolled kids. I have heard from multiple friends that the wall aren't thick enough, so you can not only here people bouncing balls of of your ceiling, but actually understand the converstations in the next room. I can afford a little more, and I really prefer a little nicer hotel. I really like being on the monorail, but BCV workds for me. We are going to try VWL in May, so maybe we will be converted...

I actually proposed to RRBB while we were staying at OKW (on Points) it is a very nice place (I just don't like the Bus Service.)

My DH stayed at the Disney Institute home away from home cabins. Alas, they are no more... he found out they were bulldozed to make way for SSR. :(

RRBBThanks for adding the name. I was hoping I finally did it right!

Kismetdreams Beautiful dress. I love wedding dresses. I could look through bride's magazines all day long.

oddball27That sounds like a great idea. I could get them all gift certificates for the spa!

joshsmom I'm also mommy to a Josh. I usually end up yelling Josh u a (that's the only way to get his attention - he's 11). You know, that yukky pre-teen or tween:rolleyes: age.

So far we've just stayed at All Stars. Josh picked the first one 'cause it was his first trip. (Sports) Then our youngest, Joseph, picked. (Movies) Now it's time to move on up. We're calling tomorrow to confirm CBR. :teeth:

Hi everyone,
I hope everyone has had a good weekend. I was reading some of the other threads, the one about meeting famous people. I was wondering who the most famous person is that you have ever met. I guess the most famous English person I have ever seen was the Queen and Prince Philip when I was 6 (I didn't get to speek to them though.) I did meet Princess Anne (the Queens daughter) when I was 8 and got to speek to her. She was really nice. I also met Princess Margaret (the Queens sister) when she was alive. She was President of the Guideing association and she opened our new head quarters. She was really nice too. I've met a few British pop stars and TV celebs too but you probably won't have heard of them.

If we are still sponsoring places for the TAG FAIRY to go on holiday I could sponsor a visit to England as I have seen the Queen.

I'm supposed to be making plans for a our big trip, but there are too many eyes and ears at home today to get much done.

As far as where we've stayed, they're all in my siggie. I will say that the Contemporary Tower is tied with the Grand Floridian as my favorite place to stay, Bay Lake side. I prefer the decor and grounds of the GF, but I like the energy of the Contemporary. Tough call, we go back and forth, when we can fit it in the budget. This time, we had ressies at the AS Sports, but I just switched it to two rooms at the Coronado Springs. I'm excited, we've never stayed there and it looks very nice. I have no problem with the AS, it just doesn't have that "resort" feeling to it, you can feel the budget-ness, if that makes any sense. As far as out-of-control kids go, I have never, ever had a worse experience with that than I did at the Grand Floridian. We actually had to switch rooms it was soooooo bad. Anyone's kids can be bad, trust me I know. DBIL and DSIL Don and Nancy-pants are well above the 6 figure income level, and have not one, but two beautiful homes, one is a brand new vacation home on a lake that is just for fun, and their kids are as wild as any I've EVER seen.

Anyway, I'm going to mosie around the resort and restaurant board a little, see what everyone thinks of me bringing my refillable mug and paying childs price for meals as Daniel will have just turned 12 two weeks before we go. :teeth:

I'll leave you guys with a little entertainment - cover your eyes kiddies! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/1/1_4_49.gif' border=0></a>

ohanafamily, ohanafamily, ohanafamily......the AS are not THAT bad. You really should try one night, just to say you did. PC was new and some of the issues mentioned about the other Values were un-incorporated into PC, as to not have the same issues. However, I will say...the extra power flush toilets can be heard from room to room. I like the power flushers, but not hearing them. Uncontrolled kids are everywhere. The worst bunch of kids was at AKL and that's a deluxe, go figure. Mumsy and daddy were aloof to the little tykes. Kids are like, everywhere though and I don't think being at the AS has anything to do with it EXCEPT for POP WARNER weeks. Sorry Cheeringmom.

I have stayed at AKL, WL, PC and CBR. I would pay the extra for the mod as long as the extra 30 (like on a special). I would never pay the 133 rate for the mod. JMHO.

Welcome new TAGLIKINS. You will find me around more during the week.

Gotta clean up from Tye's party.....we need a bigger house for the new toys.

Hello everyone! It's taken me a while to catch up on this thread...

Danauk I've seen the British Royals too (including Diana) only from a distance on the Queen's birthday in London. However.......we did get to meet Prince Edward in Barbados where he was planting a tree (don't ask me why). But anyway, his "handlers" kept telling us not to touch and not to speak to him but to wait for him to speak to us. Now being Americans and also having a few daquiris each, my friend and I were very insulted as we are ladies and are not into touching or grabbing snobby British princes. The third time we were reminded not to touch him, my friend got so angry that she whispered in my ear that she was going to sneak up behind Prince Edward and pinch his rear end. I was laughing so hard I was crying as I watched her sneak around the crowd towards him. For a moment I really thought she was going to do it but it started to rain and they hurried the Prince back under the shelter..... so darn, she missed her chance!!!!

oddball27 I'll be more than happy to sponser London, England for those wonderful Tag Fairies....any country who makes Cadbury chocolates is definitely high on my list of favorites!!!!:teeth:

Celebs:
Madonna, Scottie Pippen, John Goodman, Mickey and his friends, Shaq, Wesley Snipes and that's all I can think of now.

cadburysmom I don't want to make you jealous but I only live an hour away from the Cadburys factory and my DH's cousin actually lives in Bournville where the factory is. If you tour the factory you can taste the chocolates as you go around!!
:jumping1: ::yes::

Danauk I am soooo jealous!! (Now I have to think of a way to get to England) Aha! I've got it!:boat:

cadburysmom I've got room for more!:teeth:

Danauk Sign me up for that factory tour.....I'm headed your way right now!!

Do you think the Cadbury folks would notice if I took several tours a day....maybe they could make me an official taster....what a dream job that would be!!!:teeth:

I've never toured a chocolate factory before but after watching "Willy Wonka" a zillion times with DS9, I always assumed all chocolate factories were magical places filled with chocolate rivers and Oompa-Loompas:hyper: I'd only get myself in trouble because as a raving chocoholic, I'd lose control and end up like the "blueberry girl" or get caught in the suction of the chocolate river like the fat German kid:rolleyes:
