Sarahj,

Thanks for all the information. Any advice or tips are always welcome. I think I had better make my reservation soon and then hope for some type of discount once we get into 2005.

Thanks again.

That's exactly what we did. We started out with AAA discount for our reservations and then kept changing them as new codes became available. We actually ended up buying annual passes and got the room for $79.00 per night. Couldn't beat that! Good Luck!

That's exactly what I'm hoping for. Anything under $100.00 a night would be great. If the numbers work out I'll be buying an AP even though we won't be back again until 2009! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I have read may times over that certain cabana buildings are the closest rooms to the dig site. We are staying at the resort this summer (our first family trip to Disney) and our travel agent requested rooms that were close to the main swimming pool. The Disney rep stated that the Rancho rooms were the closest. Now I'm confused (which is why I went to a travel agent in the first place--oh well)

Which buildings are closest to the dig site?

Some of the Cabanas sections are very close to the Dig Site and some of the Ranchos are also. Casitas are the furthest from the Dig Site. Most of the Casitas are close to El Centro.

Thanks Sarahj Have you stayed at CSR and if so which building and how did you like it?

We were in Casitas 3 in September. We were very close to El Centro- about a one minute walk to it. We really enjoyed it there. We thought the room was just right. Very comfortable and the size was perfect for us. We did have a king size bed, at our request. We found ourselves using the Casitas pool more than the Dig Site, mainly because it was just my husband and me, and we liked the quietness of the Casitas pool. It was our first stay at CSR (second trip to WDW without the kids) and we were extremely happy with it. In fact we are planning a trip back to CSR the first part of June with the kids (both boys 21 and 24!)

I have heard that they now have the carts running pretty regularly around the grounds to transport people. I’m a little more relieved about the walking because my husband has some difficulty with his back and foot. After a day of walking all over the parks the last thing I want him to do is have to walk far to the room.

I haven't even left for our upcoming trip and I'm already on to planning next year's trip. :hyper:

I have decided to try out CSR for our 9/2005 trip and was wondering what is the lowest rate I can hope for without an AP? I just want to get it under $100. I've looked quickly over this threa and have seen several different rates so of course I'm confused.

Walking doesn't bother us at all and I want to be near the dig site so I'm thinking of requesting Ranchos 7B. I'm not sure yet how many people are going to be in my group, does anyone have any info about the jr. suites? I would *love* to see a pic or layout diagram of the setup. Also, are children under 3 counted as a person as far as the number of people you can have in a room? Thanks. :wave2:

Hi. Can someone help me? I am wondering about the new fridges being set up in the rooms, and if it has a freezer section? And if so how big is it ,and what you think it might hold? I was hoping to find out before we get there so we can pick up some things maybe for the freezer section too. Thanks in advance,,,Blue

Some, but not all fridges have a tiny ice box that might hold 1 or two popcicles. They are very small. At least the fridge we had in August was like that.

I've read somewhere that there is some building work going on at CSR I just wondered if anybody knows if this is effecting the resort is it noisy during the day and are there any rooms building to be avoided ?

We were in Casitas 2 this past week, and I can't remember hearing any construction noise. But, of course we were at the parks during the day, so I don't know about then. Unless you are in Casitas 1 which is closest and sleep during the day I wouldn't think you would have a problem.

While here, I want to say thank you to all of the people who've posted here about CSR. We stayed there last week and it was a great resort. Even though we had a bit of a walk from Casitas 2 to both the Dig Site pool and El Centro, it was still a very nice resort. I even enjoyed the walk before I got the blister on my foot.;)
Of course with our luck the trams were always going the other direction from the one we were going, but if you just enjoy the scenery along the way, you'll love it. And, we got to see some of the wildlife just on the resort, bunnies, birds, and even a rat or two. It's amazing how clean everything was, and they still had wildlife flitting around!:)
The room was always clean when we got back, which was no easy feat considering how much junk we had strowed around, and they always left us plenty of towels. We could have easily taken some to the quiet pool with us at any time.
And the servers inside at the Pepper Market were always nice and sometimes funny (like the one Friday). The food was nice and the Q&C vouchers were great to use.
We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone else.

I actually didn't get around there to look. I can ask my kids, though. I do remember them talking about some little kid who wouldn't ride it alone by himself. He wanted a parent with him, so it didn't really sound like they did.

I don't think there was a height requirement but they don't let you stand in front of the slide waiting for your child. The lifeguard station is right there. They do have life vests for kids to wear.

stayed at CSR for the first time this past 9 days. Was a little worried, but was very very happy. Thought that it was a little spread out, but got a good building (9b) and really liked the location of the resort, very close to MGM and AK, not bad from Epcot. Kids thought the pool was terrific (frankly better than the Poly, which is the best because of its location next to TTC).
