NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

I should be good the right?

Chase Offers do pay out when going through PayPal as long as it is coded correctly.
If it codes as "BHN" or "Blackhawk Network" then it won't trigger the offer for giftcards.com
If it codes as "GiftCards.com" or "GiftCardscom" it should trigger the offer.

My personal experience happened the opposite of what you wrote. When I purchased directly with giftcards.com it coded as BHN giftcard.com and the Chase offer posted.

When I ordered through paypal, it coded as just giftcards.com and the Chase offer did not post.

So it is possible that Chase has started excluding paypal purchases and it doesn't have to do with the coding.

Was this the same card? Did you have 2 offers on the same card?

I said if it was coded as "BHN" or "Blackhawk Network" it wouldn't work. Yours wasn't coded that way. It was actually "BHN Giftcards.com" so glad chase was able to pick up the giftcards.com part and pay out the offer for you.

If you had already used the offer it wouldn't pay out again for the paypal unless you had a second offer assuming it is like mine where it states "Offer valid one time only"

No, 2 different cards. The one that posted the credit was on a regular freedom which had the purchase directly at giftcards.com. The one that did not post the credit was on a freedom flex and purchased through paypal. The freedom flex one still has the giftcards.com offer in the added to card section.

Same for me. 2 different cards. BHN GCDOTCOM credited. Regular GCDOTCOM didn't.

This is also a great tip (and we actually even pay for one šŸ˜šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø).
If you pay for a VPN I would set it up to automatically connect on every device when you connect to unprotected WiFi.

It does it automatically for you in the background. Don't trust airplanes either. I cringe thinking about the number of people that apply for CCs with SSNs on unprotected airplane WiFi.

I am a little crazy and even have my own personal travel router. It connects to public WiFi while covering my encrypted network with my VPN. The big perk here is I can use some like an Apple TV because it can bypass the browser prompt needed to connect to some public WiFi.

Sorry for more OT, but is the VPN only for when you are on wifi? Doing the China ABD next year and will use my ATT intl roam (several reasons it makes sense for me) and figured we'd each need a VPN for our phones. I'd also use it on my tablet, pretty much only use it to stream stuff when I'm out of the country.

VPN is on my list to research but your post made me think of this which I hadn't before. Generally only see people talk about it with wifi.

You can use a VPN on cellular as well! I know some people that do it for even more privacy.

You need to initially configure the VPN once you sign up. They all have different apps, but basically it can be on 24/7, on WiFi only, on untrusted WiFi (specific networks you pick) only, etc. It all depends on what you want.

Just to make sure you know, when you are in China using ATT intl roam, you will be able to access all websites and apps without VPN. But if you use WiFi in China, this is when you encounter the great firewall and the VPN can get around it. However, the other posts are discussing a different function of VPN for security.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! Don't forget the Disney Parks Parade is at 10:00 AM EST on ABC and no Disney gift cards are needed to watch!
Thanks. Ours appears that it will be airing on the ABC News channel. Just a heads up for anyone looking.

Just a heads up to anyone who tried stacking giftcards.com with rakuten and the chase offer. Multiple chase offers processed with no issue, but the rakuten 2% back was showing up as ineligible. A quick support ticket with my receipt and rakuten marked it as pending.

Thanks! My chase charge went from pending to posted today but no credit yet.

My Rakuten still shows as pending.

almost all web traffic is encrypted now by default, even on public WiFi. It’s not like the old days, a vpn is mostly useful for changing your apparent location so you can get around geofencing. You don’t really have to worry about people being able to see your sensitive information on unsecured networks anymore. There are always exceptions, but those usually come with a warning in your browser these days.
